Long overdue review! Audrey is incredibly talented. She was able to give me some gorgeous roses with very little to go off of. Before my appt, I only sent her a couple pictures that I liked, and she gave me a tattoo with unique details. She also stayed about 45 mins after closing time to finish up. I'm no stranger to tattoos, and a handful of my friends have gotten work done from Audrey before, and all their tattoos have ended up looking amazing and healing without any issues. Her floral work is incredible, so I asked her to design a dancing lady orchid tattoo for me. I paid $100 upfront for my deposit, and came in a few weeks later for my appointment. Audrey was so nice and got to work pretty much immediately. She printed out three different sizes of my tattoo for me to choose from. She was a great conversationalist, and we talked about recent music releases (Astroworld and Stay Dangerous had just dropped) and her most memorable tattooing experiences. She only took one short break during the two hour session, and my tattoo ended up looking amazing! Despite getting my tattoo on the soft part of my bicep, I experienced little pain since she has such a light touch. I worked with Audrey on my first tattoo, because I saw her floral work and it was very impressive. She made the experience so amazing! I showed her an idea of what I wanted and she sketched me out something of her own, the next day I came in during my appointment time and I saw the sketch and it was time for her to ink me!!! I was hesitant to leave a review because partially I blame myself for coming here twice so it's kind of my fault also for giving them a chance.  Long story as short as possible.  Basically I had an appointment with Audrey to do a small pet tattoo which is my first tattoo.  Price was to be $100 which is ok.  As the day nears I confirm with her through email I'm coming in on set time and she confirms the time.  On the day I come in, she tells me that I missed my appointment time and she was now busy with another client who I find out has a big tattoo that needed to be done.  This was why I confirmed my date so I am not wrong here.  I decided to give her major asshole attitude and confronted her with the fact that I just confirmed my appointment and she acknowledged my scheduled time.  I was already nervous about my first tattoo and now you decide to replace me with some other guy.  So after I gave her my asshole attitude she says she can ask her co worker to work on me.  I swear to god I was about to lose it.  Thinking back on it now I should have just left after giving her my attitude.  I decided to let it go and just reschedule to turn the experience positive.  So on the day of my second attempt at a tattoo.  The tattoo turned out okay.  Nothing great.  I just felt it could be better.  I'm not sure if she was just doing a whatever job given our first encounter.  I decided to book another appointment for other tattoos I want done and was quoted $200 for 2 small tattoos.  I tipped her 30% which I think is high now.  On the third time I got the tattoos they turned out whatever also.  She didn't really put anymore effort.  Just kind of tracing her sketch and that's it.  Gave her ass another 30% tip and she seemed to like that.  All about the money I guess as they say.  I should kind of thank her also because if it wasn't for her being so damn lame I wouldn't have found my new tattoo parlor I found which is PeterGunz in Arcadia.  His prices are better than Audrey and he helped me cover all her tattoos for free.  That's right FREE.  Some nice things about anvil is the atmosphere is very nice and the other artists seem cool also.  Just not Audrey as she has no integrity. Initially emailed JP with some ideas for a mandala piece, then went in for a consultation with him to hash out the details & then came back for the session & the piece he designed was perfect & exactly what I had in my head & more! Turned out to be a long session with all of the detail in the design, but he was patient, professional, with a cool personality that helped make the process that much more enjoyable, & the detail in his work speaks for itself. I had been following Anvil Tattoo and Alex T on instagram for quite a while, so when I got the itch to get a new tattoo I knew I had to come here and that I had to have Alex do it. I sent Alex an email and he responded in no time, like may maybe within 20 minutes which was amazing. We set up a date and time and it was all great. I had initially told him I wanted a quote on my ribcage, but the day before my appointment I had a change of heart and asked him to make the change. He was incredibly understanding and helpful. He asked for my input and made sure that the design was exactly what I wanted it to be. The day of my appointment finally arrived and I got there about 15 minutes early just to fill out the paperwork and what not. The shop is super clean, and is definitely the nicest tattoo shop I have ever been to. Alex showed me the initial design asked for my input, I told him that I wanted to add an extra flower and he said it was no problem. He added the flower and showed me some size options and it was all super easy. The tattooing process began and Alex offered me water, told me where the restroom was, and then proceeded to start tattooing me. My entire tattoo was done in maybe 30 minutes give or take. It was such a wonderful experience and this is by far my favorite tattoo. This is the only shop I will be coming to for future ink. I would totally recommend Alex, but all of the other artists there were super friendly and easy going, so I'm sure that whoever you end up getting will do an amazing job! I came to Anvil tattoo to follow one of my favorite artists, JPeaces. It was a quick drive up the 605 for me and I found the shop no problem. There is plenty of space for the artists and the equipment is clean and comfortable. Very modern design for a shop and I appreciate the vibe as well. Initially walking into this tattoo shop, I felt a really positive and welcoming atmosphere. Everyone was very friendly and was very quick to taking care of me for my first tattoo. I got a tattoo from JP, whom was very quick to take care of exactly what I wanted for my tattoo. As my first tattoo, it has a whole lot of meaning to me. He ended up doing more than I expected and even made my tattoo show a more brushstroke-like font and made it look very realistic. I found this place on Instagram and after a bit of research choose Alex T as my artist. I asked him to make a lion tattoo to honor my dad and he was so patient and careful to give me exactly what I wanted. This is the most professional and cleanest place I've ever been to. After 2 years of thinking about what I wanted for my first tattoo, I decided to do my research on a couple well known artists around my area. I've visited a couple artists and looked at their portfolios but none of their style seemed to fit my taste. Don't get me wrong. I know some artists do a very beautiful job but after I scouted around for a couple months, I finally found THE ONE.       Alex Trang had the skills and artistry that I loved. His strokes are clean yet delicate. His style is unique and beautiful. I wanted him to craft my very first tattoo that held the deepest meaning to me. This review is for my pieces and time spent with Audrey.Simply said, Audrey's an amazing member of the Anvil team. Not only is she patient and extremely personable, she's such an amazing and talented artist. I sent my reference pictures for extremely minute details and she knocked it out of the park with what she ended up presenting to me. I didn't do just one, but two tattoos for my first time getting tatted. So with nerves wracked up day of and my internal world just sounding like a screaming banshee, Audrey was able to not only keep me calm with her demeanor and professionalism but also knocked out my pieces beyond my expectations. She's also extremely communicative throughout the consultation and waiting period as well so I never felt bad asking her any questions that came to mind. JP did my tattoo. I just called last minute and did a walk-in for a finger tattoo. Cost $75 for mine.My tattoo under the finger on the palm side is a bit faded, but it's hard to get a tattoo on that side of skin and because of washing hands. But overall I like how it turned out and would come here again if I were to get another one.Positives:+ JP is pretty good at his work.+ JP is pretty chill and willing to work with you regarding the design and such+ free touch up is included in price. I got a tattoo from their apprentice, Hoon, and I am very pleased with the results. He took a very basic concept that I shared with him, applied his own style, and made it come to life on my sleeve in progress. He blended the tattoo with my old tattoo, so that the sleeve would be connected. As well, the line and dot work he did with the shading is phenomenal. I definitely recommend this shop. Found Audrey online after a long search and confirmed that my friend and I wanted her as our artist after we checked out her Instagram!She was very accommodating and patient, especially since we had to constantly reschedule our appointment from December to March. Finally our appointment came and we were off! She listened to all of our requests and edits, and she took her time to be careful and detailed.My friend had her first tattoo on her ribs, which took a little more than 2 hours. My friend was very anxious and Audrey knew that she had to take breaks, even when my friend didn't know she needed breaks. At one point Audrey even offered food because she could tell my friend was about to pass out, so I ran to get our leftovers. Getting my sleeve done at Anvil by AJ has been nothing short of an awesome experience. I told him the general idea of what I wanted over the phone and when I walked in a few days later, he had the full design drawn up. Using an iPad app, he was able to show me what it would look like on my arm. That was pretty cool, if you ask me. He later told me he had prepared some more color schemes that I could choose from. I ended going with one of those instead of my initial color idea because it just looked so darn good. After about 25 hours of tattooing and lots of consulting, I am left with a beautiful piece of art.All in all, my experience at Anvil could not be better. Everyone there is very friendly and welcoming, and the shop is beautiful. They always have movies playing which really help pass the time... although I still find myself looking around at the shop's absolutely stunning decor. Charlie is awesome! He was super nice and cool. I was there for about 3 hours and he really took the time to make sure his work was perfect. He made sure to check if I was doing okay every now and then to see if I needed a break. And throughout the entire session he kept me updated on how much longer it was going to take and what he was doing.I love how he is so detailed with his work and double checked to make sure that everything is right before moving forward. Even after getting multiple tattoos, I've never had a regular artist, or regular tattoo shop for that matter.. until I got some work done by Alex T at Anvil! He was awesome to work with! A couple months ago, he did matching geometric wolf tattoos for me and my best friend and they turned out beautifully!!! He worked with us on the design and you best believe he was able to create a design we both fell in love with I had mine done on my ribs and the pain wasn't as bad as I thought it would be because Alex would ask and make sure I was comfortable and went at a good pace. Fast forward a couple months, I wanted to get a small piece, but after some discussions, we ended up with a gorgeous sternum piece. With only one year left of my twenties I decided it was time to finally get that tattoo that I'd been talking about for years. After scouring Instagram and Yelp for a tattoo artist and shop that I felt comfortable with, I came across Audrey Tam's Instagram page and I just knew that I had found THE one. Her work and designs are all incredibly beautiful, creative and detailed. Having no experience what so ever in getting a tattoo I was extremely nervous about the whole thing but Audrey was amazing. She was great communicating with me via email and after my consultation meeting with her I knew I made the right choice and I was soooooo excited to get started. She found some time to fit me in earlier than what we had originally discussed and on the day of my appointment she was so incredibly accommodating and patient with my nerves and me (she was even kind enough to let my friend who had come with me for moral support come to the back with us). I was getting two pieces done, one a simple lotus design on my left wrist and the other one was a more complicated geometric rabbit transforming into a real rabbit. Audrey took the inspiration photos I showed her and designed something lovely and unique just for me. I had some indecision about where on my arm I wanted the rabbit and Audrey was really patient and kind and applied the stencil to my arm in three or four different locations so I could see what I liked best. She gave her recommendations and I never felt rushed or nervous. She was really great at making sure I was okay and comfortable the whole time she was working on me. The shop itself is also a very cool and comfortable environment. Despite it being my first time in a tattoo shop I didn't feel like a very uncomfortable fish out of water. They had the best Star Wars art on the wall which made my nerd soul feel right at home. And most importantly everything looked clean and in tip top shape. To summarize, Audrey is AMAZING and she made my first tattoo experience so great that I'm already planning my next one and it will definitely be with her and the Anvil Tattoo Company again. A very long, over due review but it had to get done so here it is.Like many people, I was inspired by a picture I saw on the internet and felt the need to permanently mark it on my skin. Normally I would have gone to my girl, who's worked on me numerous times, but she moved. She occasionally comes back to guest spot at her old place, but my schedule doesn't always work with hers and her books fill up quick. Fast forward, this place was recommended to me by a friend whose cousin is one of the artists here. Although his work is incredible, I just didn't feel like he would be the perfect fit. Enter their apprentice, Audrey. I saw her work on IG and something told me this girl is IT. Mind you, the piece I wanted is no bigger than my palm, but it demanded lots and lots of detailed work. I showed her my inspiration pic and made a few suggestions, and she came up with the cutest little custom owl I have ever seen. Also, I specifically did not want any type of shader tool used. I wanted all "shading" to be done in cross-hatches. (Of course, this was a decision I would later come to regret because that shit hurt like hell, but not Audrey's fault at all. I take full responsibility on that one.) Anyway, it helped that she was very gentle and attentive, always asking how I was holding up, did I need a break, etc. I'm definitely a fan of her work and my gawd, this young woman is going places! Got work done by Charlie. I found out about the artist at the pomona tattoo expo. They had some of best work and they're shop is not too far from me. The shop is cool, clean, plenty of parking. Charlie was very professional, took the time to prep and carefully align the sketch. Took the time to fill in all the detail. The tattoo came out dope. I definitely recommend this shop. I found one of the artist that work here, Audrey Tam, on instagram and set up a consult as soon as possible because I feel in love with her work. During our consult, she asked detail orientated questions about what I wanted to make sure her sketch of my first piece would be exactly what I wanted. She was nice enough to email me sketches and ask for feedback on it before our first appointment and her sketches were exactly what I envisioned! Before our sessions she set up a little blockade between me and the rest of the parlor since I was getting a tattoo right below my chest. This made me feel really comfortable since I was only wearing a tube top. During our sessions she was really sweet and let me take as many breaks and didn't seem to irritated or annoyed at all even though I needed hella breaks. She even gave me numbing gel and waited an hour before my shading session since I forgot and she didn't want me to deal with all that pain. (she's actually the best!) After each session she would go over how to properly take care of it and wrote down instructions for me. I'm definitely coming back here for all my future pieces I like the minimalist design of inside and unlike other tattoo parlors I've visited, I didn't feel intimidated by the workers. they all made me feel super comfortable and not out of place. I found Audrey's work and her style was exactly what my boyfriend was looking for. We called the store and set up a consultation. Audrey's really sweet, she gives great advice, is super creative, and makes sure that you are completely happy with your piece before she even begins tattooing. We were more than happy to book an appointment with her and she tattoo'ed my boyfriend and I together. I got a quote on my rib cage done and he got a mandala outline on his right shoulder. We were both really happy with how both our pieces came out and my boyfriend booked his next appointment with her right afterwards.Since our first tattoos with Audrey, we've been going to her for a couple months now and she's currently working on my boyfriend's sleeve. I had such a great experience at Anvil Art last weekend! First of all, the shop is in great condition. It's modern and clean and the staff is so welcoming. I came in to see Audrey for a peony on my inner arm after checking out her work on Instagram. (@audgeetam) I knew she had to be my new artist! I emailed her and she responded the very same day, we set up a consult and I came in a few days later. Audrey was so professional and open to my ideas and any changes I wanted to make to the piece. She really has an eye for tattooing and took her time to add in the most gorgeous shading and dot work. My piece healed perfectly and I'm so happy I came to see her. I don't do a lot of reviews on Yelp, but Anvil certainly deserves one! I was looking for a place to get my first tat and a friend of mine told me about Anvil, where she was also planning on getting her first. I decided to give it a try and check it out. When I entered the shop, I was immediately greeted and helped by a member. The place has a good vibe to it with a modern feel and very spacious with different art plastered on their walls and my personal favorite a big painted dragon. After looking at the artist's portfolios and some background research, I chose Charlie because for some odd reason, I was especially pulled to his work and he has some scripts that I really liked (check out his instagram!! @CNGUYEN_TATTOOS). After talking with him for a while about what I want and left a deposit, we setted an appointment for the next day. When I arrived the day of, I was excited and nervous at the same time however Charlie greeted me the moment I entered the door with a warm smile which made me feel very welcoming. The whole process of choosing a font and getting ready was peachy. He made sure that nothing was rushed and everything was how I wanted. The tattooing itself didn't hurt that much, like everything was tolerable so I guess maybe I have a good pain tolerance? Throughout the time, he would check that I was alright and had mini conversations which I really like. They were also playing Mr.Deeds on the T.V so I also had something to distract myself with. He then gave me aftercare instructions and took a picture of my tat. I'm overly satisfied with the final product.
