I can't express enough how rude and racist this man is. We went in to get a Daith piercing and instead ended up with a rook after he said he has many years of experience. When asked for a refund he refused, said that the papers we signed stated that. I asked him to show me where and he wouldn't let me look at them. He said everything was recorded to back him up and I said good but he has to admit that's not what I asked, basically told me to sue him if I wanted and to leave. What I said was I'm going to write a bad review he said he would call I.C.E on me instead. Now how did one thing lead to another I don't know, we let him talk his peace and when we spoke this is the harassment I received. After we walked out, he followed me with is phone and started recording me as if we were the bad guy. Now like I told him if has all this experience and has done many daiths before why give a different piercing and when confronted why say you have it on paper and camera but has to no sign under CASH ONLY another one saying NO REFUNDS and if he truly had nothing to hide why wouldn't  he show me the papers and WHY record me outside. HE IS A RIP OFF, A FRAUD AND A RACIST.  Trying to scare people with talk like that. He could of easily given me at least parcial refund he did make a mistake he just didn't want to own up to it. I first walked into Ink fever tattoo on a Saturday night in 2011 for a dermal on both my wrist. The shop was very busy! Mike did the dermal piercings properly, professionally and quickly making it as painless as possible. The price was right and I was out of there in no time. My sister and I walked into this shop looking to get some piercings and we were helped by BigMike :) He indeed is AMAZING at what he does! This guy knows his stuff and is gentle to the touch that I didn't feel a thing! Great place to go. Got my septum done and Big Mike was so good about it. I was so nervous but he made me feel so much better by walking me through it and let me ask any questions I had about it. Big Mike is a rip off, don't let the awards on his walls fool you - someone with that many awards should back up their work, he will tell you free touch ups for your $1100.00 tattoo and then when you ask for your touch up after time has past he will tell you he doesn't do free touch ups. He gave me good recommendations for healing and even when I was doubtful and called again, he told me not to worry call as much as I'd like with questions. Not sure what's up with the prior reviews. Met Big Mike 33 today at an Ink Master Convention in New Braunfels. He did a touch up on my anchor and flowers that was AMAZING! Added white that made it pop (pic to follow). Gave me good insight on what to do with a future foot tattoo and is a cool dude overall. No hello no nothing lol then i remebered my friend and i had gone there about 6 years ago and it clicked that they stay rude, i even persuaded my friend to go somewhere else but she jusy went for it since it was a spontaneous belly piercing. My little sister got her tongue pierced here and the man that helped her was very rude. He pulled out a foldable chair and had her sit and had no type of communication at all. Bad customer service. I am currently working on a sleeve with Big Mike and I am in love. Im not even halfway done with it but what I have so far is amazing. I cannot wait for the final product. He may look intimidating but he is very caring. During each session I have he ffrequently asks if I am ok considering a lot of my tattoo is in very tender areas such as the back of my knee and thigh area. They ran a special for $20 tattoos and piercings for Friday the 13th and as I sat there waiting for them to call my name for my piercing, I watched him take an open disposable tube from his drawer use it on a client. I also watched as he set up his equipment and he rubbed the fluid for the transfer paper on her arm with his bare finger. He didn't have plastic covering his clip cord. They honestly shouldn't be operating a shop with these practices. On top of all of this, we waited for 4 hours and when they got to us, they refused to honor their piercing special that they had been advertising for several days. I went there with my sister to get a piercing and we were real nervous about getting it done but we were able to ask all the questions in the world, before and after or during we were able to talk to him he made us feel comfortable and kept it professional everything was in sterilized packages and opened right in front of me and the process was quick and easy no pain afterwards just felt a little pinch like he said and then it was done and over with. After calling around to a few local places, my brother and I finally decided on Ink Fever  (although neither he nor I got any ink  lol.) My brother had his tongue pierced for the first time and I had my nostril re-peirced. Not only is Big Mike courteous, fast, and extremely skilled... DO NOT GO HERE! I'm only giving them a star because i have to. I got both  my traguses pierced here first he tells me clean with Neosporin which should have been the first red sign, BUT  a week later i go to another well known tattoo shop he first tells me that the earring is NOT a tragus ring its a nose ring in both of my ears then he tells me he didn't pierce it all the way through so i had to re- pierce it! this all happened with in one week! i paid 45 for both which was cheap but i did not pay for a nose ring and for someone who obviously did not know what they were doing. Big mike has no idea what he's doing. I was way over charged for a very small tattoo but it had a lot of detail, so I figured that's why I was spending so much. After Mike was done with what used to be a beautiful design, I looked it over. The lines were shakey, it was uneven, he had missed some small spots, and it looked sloppy. I made him go over a few different parts to fix it up before I could walk away feeling even the slightest bit happy about what is now on me forever. Dude had a hood attitude,  took forever to draw out a nautical star, half way through tattooing he stops to argue with his lady on the phone for 20 minutes. After that not much was said and I rolled out of that place with what turned out to be a crooked ass star. This was 8 yrs ago and it seems like the place hasnt changed a bit. Big Mike is an excellent artist. I researched his work for awhile before visiting the shop. Once there he answered all my questions with great patience and was friendly (you won't find that at many tattoo shops!). He worked with me on prices to fit my budget. I got a scene from a sci-fi tv show that covered half my upper arm, all black and gray. He requires a down payment as most reputable artists do, and we made an appointment. When the day came to have the work done he was ready when I arrived and had sketched up the design perfectly. He worked fast but steady, I really couldn't believe we completed the entire tattoo in one session. It turned out amazing. He did stop to take care of some tattoo consultations and piercings when people walked in. He was upfront and honest with everyone just like he was with me. We had great conversation while he tattooed me and he's very passionate about his work.  You can get a lot of bad tattoos for an excellent price at other shops, but if you're looking for QUALITY tattoo work at an excellent price, another rare thing to find in the tattooing world, then I highly recommend this shop. I've gotten two piercing here: my ear cartilage and my belly button. I go here for the $20 piercing price, but it's actually $25 if you want a decent ring to go with. However that's still pretty cheap so I don't mind. My cartilage didn't get infected or anything. However, my belly button used to get infected pretty often, until I bought different jewelry for it. I think the one the guy gave me here irritated my belly button too much. So go here for piercing, but I would buy my jewelry elsewhere if I were to get another piercing. Read Less

The location of this shop is quite sketch, but what do you expect? It is Riverside after all. But overall, this place is quite special to me since I got my first non-lobe piercing here.The piercer was accommodating to the fact that this was my first real piercing, so he was very patient and calmed my nerves. My friend and I went here to get our bellybuttons pierced, and I was really impressed by the prices. $30 for the piercing, the jewelry, and the cleaning stuff. However, the jewelry stained my skin, and now there's a pretty ugly scar, and I had to take my piercing out a month ago because the piercing was starting to close up. My friend's boyfriend said maybe he didn't pierce enough skin, which is probably true since the hole was so close to my actual bellybutton. The Owner/Artist is really a nice guy, takes a lot of time with explaining his vision for your tattoo. He pierced my nose today in a sterile manner and it looks great! After looking at his work and talking to him for like an hour or more (yes he spent that much time with me!) I feel confident in allowing him to do a cover-up of an old tattoo for me and start my chest/shoulder piece.
