Went in to get my septum re-pierced but first time getting it done from this shop. Honestly probably won't ever go back, the piercer seemed like he had no idea what he was doing. Took him about 30 min just to get the ring in because he took out the whole needle then tried sticking the ring in by itself instead of the professional way by leading the ring in along with the needle slowly out. After getting the run around with trying to book an appointment for the past few days at a couple other shops, my husband & I walked into House of Pain today with no appointment, just hoping they would have some availability. We were told Hammer would be the one to help us. We had an idea of what we wanted but no artistic ability to draw it ourselves. After explaining what we were wanting to include in the tattoo, Hammer sketched up our ideas but with his own twist & we loved what he came up with. Once I was getting tattooed, I couldn't believe how painless this tattoo was. This is my 13th tattoo but probably the least painful I've ever gotten. Hammer has a light hand & did a great job. It was my husband's first tattoo & Hammer's calm demeanor helped us both with some nerves we had. Where do I start!!Let me tell you that I stopped by 3 shops before making my decision to get my tattoo here. This place alone gives off positive vibes (maybe because the place is spotless!!!) the artists are in a positive welcoming mood! Think about that for a second? House of pain is a very friendly and welcoming environment, wichael greeted us with a smile and a wide assortment of tattoos to look at (to add more idea of what you'd like your finished piece to look like)  The shop is very well kept very clean and very easy to get around .. talking to wichael (my tattoo artist) was also a great pleasure as he did my tattoo with collective and entertaining conversation I barely felt any pain , pain is temporary but memories last forever and i would definitely recommend going in and getting a tattoo .. but once you walk in you know that it's more than a tattoo it's a open environment with friendly welcoming people... I've been going to see Michael (Wichael) for many years before he started working at House of Pain, and I'm so glad he's in this shop. Other than being an amazing artist, he's one of the best dudes I know. He respects the art of tattooing just as well as he respects each client who walks in the door. When he's not working on a client, he's painting awesome flash art. I always want all of it either on my skin or hanging on my wall at home. He's constantly working on evolving his style and trying new things. I feel lucky to have known him and his wife for so long, and to have those evolving styles on my skin forever. Went to a tattoo parlor based off of yelp reviews. My first mistake. I was talked out of a tattoo I had my heart set on to get one that I was almost as excited to have. Almost 2 weeks of constant pain later and the INFECTION is just now starting to heal. I was given excuse after excuse as to why it got infected and lowkey was made to feel like it was my fault... even though I have 9 other tattoos that I've never had a problem with. Not sure why I can't put anything on it to help it heal other than hot compresses and washing it. Exactly what I've been doing from the beginning. I'm sure I'll need a touch up after these awful scabs finally come off. Don't know I'll be back to Rubens heavy hand though. Great tattoo and piercing shop! Have been coming here for years and have gotten multiple tattoos and piercings from this place. Clean, the decor is really nice, professional, and you get what you pay for. One of the piercers there even helped me out with a nipple piercing that was rejecting after I had gone to another piercing shop to get it done(turns out I needed a longer bar). And he helped me fix it and exchange my smaller bar for a larger one. So I'm really thankful for that! I've never felt so welcomed ever at a tattoo shop and that I'm very happy to say made me appreciate that a shop like this does exist ! No cold stares or rude questions!
