Tattoos are permanent... When choosing a place to get your piece done, you consider a lot of things, but especially the artistry offered, the atmosphere and the professionalism. Make Luck Tattoo is definitely a place that has it all and is totally worth checking into for your next piece. The artwork is top notch! My piece was super simple, but there was attention to detail, down to the amount of space and spaces between lines. Dave really knows what he's doing and I felt comfortable and confident that I was going to walk away with something I really loved. I also must mention their flexibility! I messaged them on Friday to see what they might be able to do that weekend and they fit me in Saturday night. It was great and the price was reasonable! They worked with me on the design and placement and even said we could try a few places with the mock up to see where I really liked it. Check them out next time you're considering a tattoo! Dude!!!! My cover up tatt is SICK! Seriously thank you so much to the artist David! I really appreciate his talent! He helped me through the tough parts (which was the wrist/ lower forearm). I got my second tattoo here last summer and I'm planning to get my 3rd soon that David will custom make. I found this tattoo shop searching locally and read the great reviews. The name says it all because I feel I got lucky finding this place. David just recently touched up the tattoo from last summer and didn't charge like he said for touch ups and I gave a tip. The layout of the shop and the choice of music he has playing is chill and the whole experience of getting a tattoo here was totally rad. David and his wife are great...super friendly and low key with a simple small private shop, No big neon signs or anything.....its not one of those places with 6 or 7 artist all working on people..its just David , which was nice... ....I wanted some pretty basic tattoos that had meaning to me, and in checking with other shops in the past, had always been told that certain ideas or symbols would look to plain or would need to be larger...I think artist do take their work to heart and want to creat art, but I truly did want the simple style I had suggested..David at Make Luck was the first shop that just looked at my idea and said no problem...no upsale or trying to make it fancier then my original idea...He is capable of much more artistic stuff but it was nice not to have to "add to my idea".. .he did a great detailed job on some military rifles I had requested and applied the outline sketch several times to ensure he had everything aligned perfectly...considering the actual amount of work done his pricing was way better then most shops in area would charge and he finished quicker then I expected...they offer military discounts which is nice, since they dont have to do that...I have had various tattoos done by other shops thru the years, but I would most definately go to Make Luck from now on.... Also for anyone wanting a first tattoo it is a great place...most shops can be imtimidating for new people since they are often are full of hard core ,full sleeved tattooed artist with several artist working..Make Luck is basicaly just you getting work done, so a newbie wouldnt feel out of place.. ....its a bit hidden and not real obvious of a shop but it is definately the place I would suggest to anyone.... If you're looking for the best tattoo artist in the South Bay you've just found him... David did a cover tattoo for me and was able to free hand this DOPE mandala design when BTW I went to 3 other tattoo 'artists' before David and they told me it was impossible to cover the hands with a mandala they seriously suggested masculine tattoos such as dragons or a grim reaper and told me it would have to be big and dark basically like wtf. By the time I got to David's shop he thought I drew on myself but it was another artist trying their best but their best is just not good enough when it comes to being permanent in this lifetime. I learned such a lesson that day (couple months ago) about tattoos... never settle until you find an actual ARTIST who is a natural with passion and genuinely puts his all into his work if you're reading this you finally found him and you're so welcome. I was recently there for a touch up so it looks fresh in the pics but check out these pics guys! Finally! A tattoo artist whose down to earth and easy going and talented without being full of himself. This little Redondo Tattoo shop is awesome! The owners, David and his sweet wife, are super attentive, patient, and accommodating. I messaged them to get an appointment and they responded within a few hours to book an appointment a few days later. I am really appreciative of the time they took to make my early birthday present to myself possible. I had a tattoo in mind that I sketched myself. They had me text it to them. When I arrived at the shop they had the drawing cleaned up and ready to go!! I'll be going back to touch up and finish some details of the tattoo and will be back for more tattoos to come. So today I woke up not knowing that I would have something permanent on my body. Me and my friend since middle school, have been wanting to get matching heart tattoos on our booties for a while now. From the beginning we decided it would be something that we would love and just cherish because we have a close friendship. The plan was to eat and then go to different tattoo spots to check for prices. We actually ended up coming across David's shop on yelp because the places we wanted to check out were all over $100-160 for a small tattoo. When first pulling up I was skeptical because I am a very very very picky person. I have only one shop I go to for piercings. So getting my first tattoo from a shop I don't know of is on edge for me. However, my friend reassured me that everything would be fine.I went in with positive vibes and was greeted nicely by David. He was very understanding and knew exactly what we wanted. He gave us the background on how long he's been tattooing and more. I had my friend go first because I was nervous. I have 14 piercings but just thinking about a needle constantly going in and out of your skin is terrifying to me. In the end hers looked very cute and I was very excited to get mine's.He made sure I was in a comfortable position and reassured me that everything would be OK. He even told me that he would do a small line so I can feel how it felt. Once he saw that I was comfortable he began to do the tattoo and I have to say it wasn't really painful at all. From 1 to 5 I give it about a 2, only because towards the end of the heart it began to hurt a tiny bit. On the other hand, I got through it like a champ.I would like to thank you David for my first tattoo, I love it so much and I don't regret it one bit. I will definitely be back for my next one and I am also sending you a thank you from Steph as well.Side notes: The shop is very clean. You can tell that he is big on bacteria so everything that he uses is brand-new. I wish there was a bigger parking lot that's my only issue. David has a very tenacious personality. Read Less
