I love this place. By far, my best experience getting a tattoo. My artist was Ernest, and he is quite good at what he does. He is extremely talented as a tattoo artist, and especially with the style of tattoo I wanted which has a lot of shadows and 3D elements. He was also very skilled with the needle and worked efficiently, and it came out perfect. Sincerely do your research prior to getting shit done here. I got my sleeve outlined by Jeremy, and it looked like absolute garbage. The ink came out 3 days later, uneven lines, patchy as fuck. YOU NAME IT. I know he is no longer an artist there, but any shop dumb enough to employ him isn't much better. I went to many other tattoo shops in hope they could do a severe cover up and was turned away from how bad my arm was. DID I MENTION IT WAS A 500 DOLLAR OUTLINE. I placed a deposit prior for, and he flaked and would stop replying to my messages until I walked into the shop. Well.. I got my outline and a shitty one at that. Finally I stumbled upon Gavin @ lucky 7 tattoo and he covered it up beautifully, and I get complimented daily on it. His prices are also significantly better than this shit hole. Read Less

Earnest is the nicest guy! If you want an artist that will communicate with you and collaborate ideas he's the guy. Very nice, he really makes you feel comfortable. Shop minimum is $80 but ask the artist before hand what they charge hourly. For one this is an upscale tattoo shop living up to the South Redlands reputation! John Montgomery is quite the celebrity and you are privileged to be his client. But what people don't know is how approachable and humble he is. I called his assistant and requested to speak with him. He took my call. I explained I knew that he was booked for months but my mom wanted her first tattoo on her birthday. John not only squeezed her in on her birthday but went above and beyond. He let my entire family join in and watch! He was entertaining and tried to make her feel at ease. Even though the tattoo she wanted was way too simplistic for his level of expertise, he happily did it. His price was so reasonable! Just one of the most amazing people I've had the privilege of meeting! Thank you John for not being a stuck up rich dude who has fame and drives a Maserati! Yes! John drives a Maserati! You'll often see it parked in front of the Tartan! Kyle's the man. I told him what I wanted and he was able to turn the idea into two amazing pieces.  From beginning to end Kyle was polite, professional, and accommodating. The workspace was clean and sanitary.  Most importantly he is an amazing artist with a steady hand and good eye for color... Oliver has to be the greatest tattoo artist ever. Being my 2nd tattoo I knew what to expect,but Oliver proved me wrong. Unlike my fist one this didn't hurt that much,it didn't take much time,and so far its so much less sore than the last one. All these 5 Star reviews about the place are no joke. This place rules hard. So I have been looking to get my first tattoo for a while now and finally decided to pull the trigger after a friend of mine went here to get his done. He spoke very highly of Grand Tattoo Lodge and after reading all the reviews, I went in for a consultation. I spoke with Kyle and we went over everything, he was very thorough and professional. The day of the tattoo I went in and it took a while to set up, but Kyle again was very thorough and made sure I was comfortable and knew what to expect. My piece took roughly 2 hours and I'm glad for every minute of it! Kyle did an amazing job and his work is on point! The owner of the place, John, even came in and chatted with me and my wife while Kyle was working on it. Very professional place and cool atmosphere. Kyle listened to what I wanted and exceeded my expectations by 110%! John did my first tattoo about 7 years ago at his old location. It still looks amazing and I get complements all the time. Made big mistake not finding his new location before starting my second piece, however I'm extremely glad I found him , came in for a session today and he has already taken the chicken scratch I got elsewhere and turned it into art . Over the past three months I've had the pleasure of getting tattooed by John Montgomery at the Grand Tattoo lodge. Right off the bat he answered all my questions and put together a chest piece I had been thinking about for quite some time. John is an amazing artist and tattooist who makes the experience at his shop 1 of a kind. It's clear the passion he has for his work, by the fact he also produces his own ink line without the harsh ingredients others use. So my experience today was amazing! I also posted a picture, it is the Dali Elephant. But if anyone only takes one thing from this post let it be GO TO MIKE VASQUEZ!!!! So here is what happened today: I had an appointment scheduled with Art today at 2PM. I made this appointment 3 weeks ago. I also put $100 deposit down on this appointment. He took my information (name, phone number), I gave him my money and left. So I come in today and sit down, and Mike walks out and asks if he can help me with anything. I politely let him know that I had an appointment with Art at 2PM. Mike's response was "Art doesn't work here anymore he quit about a week and a half ago." I thought I was going to throw up after hearing this. But then Mike asked me how much I put down and what I was looking to get done. He then kindly told me that he would take me as his client, and only charge me the remainder of the quote that Art gave me. (Art quoted me $300, so I paid Mike $200). Mike did such amazing work, I am still stunned and staring in the mirror. He is very warm, and welcoming. I also got the chance to meet Oliver who was also very welcoming! Mike drew my tattoo in an hour and tattooed me for about three hours. I am seriously obsessed with his work, he is absolutely amazing. I more than highly recommend him for anyone near the Redlands area. He truly loves what he does, and seems to care a lot about clients. I could not be any more appreciative for what he did for me today (because he did not have to).I will be going back for my next tattoo, and telling everyone I know to go here. (: Read Less

I went to around 10 different tattoo shops in San Bernardino, Highland, and Redlands area and out of them all I chose Grand Tattoo Lodge. Mostly because their customer service was great, compared to other shop were i would walk in and no one would even acknowledge my presence for a long time. Also they had a good price compared to the other also.I spoke with Art and he is great, I showed him what I wanted and he did a great job.
