I tried three times to work with these guys and gave up.I requested an appointment via Yelp. They got back to me quickly l, which I appreciate, and said that since my request was a simple one, it could be done via walk-in and to call for availability. So I called and asked about availability for a walk in, and was told that they're busy and that I should call the next day. I called the next day, and again they were busy and couldn't take me. I couldn't really see a path forward from here -- they wouldn't let me set an appointment, and when I called as instructed (twice), that didn't work either.So I gave up on these guys and called Black Sea tattoo, and found the other place to be accommodating.I think what happens sometimes is businesses get busy, and the the people who work there lose sight of the client experience.  To their credit, they were perfectly polite, and I didn't have any difficulty getting anyone on the phone. And I recognize that if they're very busy, that's an indication that people like to work with them.But I was not able to accomplish the purpose for me contacting them, which was to get a tattoo.  "We wouldn't make an appointment the first time, but you've called twice now and we're not available, so let's just go ahead and set an appointment," would've been fine. But instead I was told I had to call back yet again, and as I couldn't really see an end to that, I elected to go elsewhere. Read Less

Went in about a couple months ago to get my first tattoo ever. I went in having a general idea of what I wanted but I hadn't created the complete image in my mind. I met up with Chase, who is a super cool dude. Completely professional but someone who you can make friends with easily. He worked with me for a couple of weeks bouncing ideas off me and creating the perfect piece of art. I gave him the reigns when creating the design and I'm so glad I did. I wanted an old school film inspired piece as I make videos, and he delivered. The first session was 10 hours in the chair. Second session of a few more hours and it's done! It's been about 2 months since then and the tattoo has healed perfectly. I also went back in for a chest piece and am planning on getting a half sleeve added on all by Chase. He is the man! Went here to be pierced. The place had a nice appearance. I spoke to Jessie who was the only person who appeared to be working. She quoted me a reasonable price and I decided to have her pierce me. Jessie got all her tools prepared.  Jessie did the whole measuring thing  and marked the locations for the piercing placements.  She had me lay on the preparation table. Jessie gave me step by step instructors as she did the piercings.  When Jessie was done she had me look in the mirror for customer satisfaction.  I noticed the piercings did not match and were completely NOT  symmetric.She offered me to redo one of the piercings then or at a later date for no additional charge.Moral of this incident is to confirm the ability of the person prior to allowing them to perform a service. Jessie looked the part, but obviously did not know what she was doing. Im not sure if i was her first client, but dh clearly needs more training. Always ask to see someone's work and ask how any people have they pierced. Which could also be misleading,  so buyer beware. I have now had three tattoos done by Chase, and I must say that I'm simply blown away by not just his talent, but his ability to relate and work so well with his clientele.The first time I came in, it was with my best friend and I have never felt so welcome and worry-free about getting the work done. He has a gentle touch and works quickly and efficiently.His artwork is the other reason to book with him. Chase's ability to freehand draw, coupled with his natural and impressive creativity, has created three beautiful tattoos that catch attention constantly. He's very conscientious of his clients - I have fibromyalgia, so pain is tough for me, but he's worked with me to uniquely manage a way to make it relatively painless, considering.He also did a huge cover-up piece, as the beginning of a sleeve, to get my ex permanently out of my life. I went to see Ricky-Lee after someone who's tattoos I have admired for many years recommended him.  I wanted a ten year old tattoo that wasn't exactly what I had wanted improved, re-inked, and added to. He had great ideas and we settled on a concept quickly. Got my first piercing ever a few days prior to calling other piercing professionals for an assessment (I felt like the angle of the piercing I received could have been better). After stopping by 2 other shops (they both gave conflicting information on my options to have it re-done so I was thoroughly confused!), I called Diablo Ink & spoke with Ricky...  let me just say, HE IS AMAZING!  Extremely knowledgeable, super friendly & personable, he wasn't rude or condescending because I so obviously knew nothing & was asking a ton of questions, and he was confident in his response which gave me confidence in making my decision to leave well enough alone!!  If I ever decide to have other piercings or perhaps my first tattoo, I would feel great about coming here & I'd recommend this shop to others for sure. I've been thinking about getting a tattoo for the longest time but always chickened out and never followed through. Today I spontaneously thought why not and dragged my brother and mom with me to get my piece done lol. Being a first timer, I didn't know what to do or expect. I went in on a Sunday afternoon as a walk-in and was greeted by Chase. He was very kind and inviting. I asked if he had time to do a small piece and he said he could take me in a couple hours. We later returned and waited in the waiting room until he finished another client. When it was my turn, he asked what I wanted and went to get the stencil done. Chase talked me through the whole process because I was nervous and it made me feel more comfortable and at ease. He freehanded my plumeria and it's honestly my favorite part of the whole tattoo! Just got another tattoo at Diablo Ink. I'm 52 and this is my second so I'm kind of new at this. My first (2 yrs ago) was simple, my mothers writing on my shoulder/back. This second one looked great in my head but took some effort to bring it alive. Jessi worked endlessly on my small tattoo that really tells a story. With her experience she was able to gracefully guide me to a piece I love. Design, symmetry, color, placement, angle and overall and individual sizing. She never made me feel like I was a bother with my suggestions and returned my almost daily text within the hour. It was important to her that I address all my options. She did a great job at her art and I did a great job sitting still. I was there a few days ago and got tatted by papa nixx and he was great. Very helpful with picking and making my tattoo idea come to life. I showed him two pictures and said I wanted a mix of the two and how I wanted the color. He drew something up and we went from there getting it just how I wanted it. It was hard finding a tattoo shop that did this. Most I go to just ask what you want and if you have a picture. For me I like when the artist is helpful like that. I've been going here since I was 13 coming in for my first cartilage piercing. I've been going to Jessie Horn for years and she always does beautiful work. Not only is she talented and friendly but she has a nice touch for those that are sensitive to pain. I've never once been uncomfortable . I've been to other shops and I've never felt comfortable walking in, sometimes even ignored for first 20 min. Cannot say enough great things about this shop, whether you're a newbie looking to get your first ink or a seasoned pro, the whole crew is fantastic. I've been there and watched their owner/artist and other artists work with people that came in with "kind of an idea" (we've all been there) and seen it turn into something magical. I hated my experience here. I was recommended by a friend went in and paid almost $500 for the worst tattoo I've ever gotten! I must also state during my tattoo the guy was on the phone rushing cause his girl wanted him to come home not only that when they printed my design the printer printed the wrong colors which I told the artist yet he still used some wrong colors. Lastly I went back for the touch up and the artist (Rickey Lee) I believe didn't pay attention to the design and messed it up even more! This shop has officially turned me off from tattoos & worst of all I'm stuck with this for life. I would not recommend this place to any1 period. Read Less

I was referred to Diablo Ink by a family friend who is covered in beautiful tattoos. My honey, a friend, and I made our way upstairs and were greeted by the owner, Rickey-lee. We explained what each of us wanted, all small black designs, and he agreed that they were completely reasonable for walk-ins and one of the other artists, Jesse Del Rio, would be there soon. The shop is bright and clean and Jesse took the time to make sure he understood what each of us wanted. I got an ampersand on my wrist, and already had the size and font picked out, so that was fairly simple. Jesse is precise, focused, and an all-around nice guy. My tattoo is exactly what I wanted and incredibly well done. All three of us left happy...which is good because tattoos are forever. I will definitely return to Jesse, and Diablo Ink, for my next tattoo. Parking tip -- Park in the big lot next door, near the Original Pancake House. We attempted to park at the building where Diablo Ink is housed and immediately got stuck, like "top row of Tetris" stuck, among the cars for the smog place. Good news, the smog place people had a great sense of humor about our predicament, were happy to drive our car out of the lot, and provided guidance on where to park and told us to tell Rickey-lee hello from them. Amazing artists here. I've had work done by Miss Jessie and Ricky Lee. They did a great job. Also had piercing work done by both. If you want your tongue pierced hit Ricky Lee up. He did a great job and before I knew it the piercing was already done. He is fast with his piercing and tattoos and it turns out great. I also love how I can give Ricky Lee a small idea of what I want and he comes out with something that blows my idea out of the park. I love the stuff he came up with for me. I've seen Miss Jessie's work around and it is awesome work as well. All the artists at this shop are amazing.
