I've gotten 3 piercings here. Once my nose healed with a stud, I went back to have them change it to a hoop because I was too nervous to do it myself for fear that it would close up. 'Cookie' (who had a hoop in her own nose) struggled to put it in for about 10 mins until she finally got it, or so I thought. After paying 8 bucks for the service, I went home only to discover she put it in backwards. She clearly gave up putting it in the right way and called it good just to make an easy buck. (I ended up just taking it out at home and I eventually got it in my nose the correct way). A few months passed, and since I am all for supporting local business I gave them another chance with a different staff member, Frank. I wanted my cartilage pierced along with my bellybutton. The ear piercing went fine, but sitting at home later that night admiring my bellybutton ring, I looked down and noticed that it was totally crooked. My boyfriend noticed it too before I even said anything. Not to mention that Frank had pierced directly through, not behind, some scar tissue I had from a previous piercing, without giving me any warning about how it could be more painful and take longer to heal. I have since taken my bellybutton ring out. Moral of the story is: don't have high expectations for these people, especially when it comes to piercings. Read Less

I just got a tattoo from Mike today at Royal Six. What an amazing experience. I don't recall ever having a tattoo applied with such a light hand, and a deft one, with such a great energy and personality at the other end of the machine. Stopped in this last Friday July 1st, Holiday weekend. Spur of the moment request and Frank set me up with an appointment for Sunday. That worked out because I was staying in town for the weekend. Frank did a great job on a Superman legacy tattoo dedicated to my son. It was a very comfortable upscale shop. My wife was comfortable while she waited and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Frank does quality work and I would make the trip from West Sacramento to Placerville just to do any future tattoos at this shop with Frank. My sister and I just got tattoos today at the El Dorado County Fair. We were tattooed by Mike and I can't even begin to tell you how awesome it was! It was my little sisters first tattoo and Mike was so cool with her! You'd think being at the fair would be distracting but he was super cool and made sure we were taken care of! We got the phrase "Stay Gold" in calligraphy. Mike free handed the stencil and it came out looking bad ass! Got my second ear holes pierced after they had closed up over the years.  The first visit I made to inquire about price, time, what was involved, etc, the woman who does the piercing was free and answered all my questions.  I came back a few months later to get it done.  It was reasonably priced, $40, and clean.  The care info sheet was laid out well, and she explained it as well if you needed that.  Did a good job, and it is coming along nicely.  After 5 weeks, I returned to the shop because the hole was nicely healed up, and I had been told that if I came back, I could exchange the very long earrings with a shorter set for more comfort.  I was brought back to the area where they pierce, and the woman nicely exchanged my earrings for me.  The shop has some interesting things to look at in terms of occupying yourself while waiting.Would recommend the piercing there. I got my first tattoo from Tea today, and he was fantastic. It was worth the drive from Sacramento. The shop is very comfortable - lots of couches to sit on while you wait, you are greeted and helped quickly, and it's clean and prices are reasonable.Tea was perfectly happy to work with me on what I wanted (just a simple quote, but he kept tweaking it until I was totally happy with the writing style) and made sure I was happy with the placement. He also was very gentle and it didn't hurt at all - I honestly didn't believe he'd already started at first because I felt nothing. He kept checking in with me to make sure it didn't start hurting, too.From what I've seen of the other staff they are all very talented and nice as well, so I definitely recommended this shop. I'm really impressed with the cleanliness and service of this shop. My boyfriend and I went in for tattoos (his first) with Jaime VI and we both had a great experience. Jaime did a great job of translating my boyfriend's original drawing into a beautiful tattoo. He was very accommodating of our schedules and worked late to get our pieces done. Jaime first inked me @ Black and Blue in SF. I had been searching for ages to find a good artist who I could trust to do a difficult cover-up of an old partial sleeve. I gave him some vague, loose direction and it resulted in a gorgeous half-sleeve that is constantly drawing envious compliments!Placerville is a 2.5 hr drive (each way) for me, but I willingly made the drive this weekend for a back piece - turned out amazing as expected. I will continue to see Jaime for all my tattoos!! He is a fantastic artist (you can see examples of his sketches and paintings hanging in the shop), super chill and friendly. If you are looking for a good experience when you go to put a permanent piece of art on you body, I would not recommend this shop. When u walk in, it seems to be well managed. Nicely fixed up and decorated but looks can be deceiving. The attitudes of the staff were appauling. When I came in there with my general idea they took no initiative to add in any suggestions, thought, or knowledge of the best way to go for the tattoo I was looking to get. After the guy drew up a generic picture of what looked to be a drawing my 10 year old could have done, he took me to the back to put the carbon copy on. My sister was not allowed in the back where the tattoo would be done. He spoke very rudely telling me to put my purse on the table. Then proceeded with his attitude telling me to hodl still. No chair was offer at all. The only things offered was a glass of water(after sitting there for over an hour) & dirty looks from all three of the "employees" , if that's what you want to call them. I feel as if I was an incovience to them. There was no kind of social interaction and I had to be the one to even introduce myself after awhile of being there. When someone goes to get a tattoo it should be a comfortable and joyous event that these guys could come close to. Luckily my sister noticed as well how rude this guy is. And got me out of there!
