For over a three year period, I have been going to Carmen for eyeliner and just recently had my eyebrows done. I can't tell you great it is to get up in the morning and only have to put on a little lipstick to look good.  I am just back from a cruise and makeup in the morning was a cinch, especially, when you had to hurry off the ship for a tour. I wanted info on micro blading. I met with owner Carmen Mello. She was so nice and answered all my questions. I had previous tattooing on my brows at a different salon. I didn't like the color and my brows were uneven. She explained which procedures would remedy my situation. I was so happy with her work. My eyebrows are gorgeous. She even gave me arches. She micro bladed individual hairs that look like real hairs. I loved her work so much , I had my eyeliner done. It looks natural and made my eyelashes look fuller.  The final procedure I had Carmen do was my lip liner. She made my lips look full and I don't really need lipstick. It has been at least a year since having my eyebrows, eyeliner and lips done. I didn't get quite what I asked for. Let me say first that I barely wear make up and wanted a natural look.I wanted microblading done on my eyebrows and Carmen told me I would be happier getting the color tattoo and then microblading after during a touch up session. During the touch up session, more tattoo was added to get a better shape. I asked to have the tattoo extended and done thicker in a couple of areas, and she said it would not be even to the other brow. That is a consideration, but our faces and features are not symmetrical.   The end result is a dark thinner, harsh line that I need to add a softer brown to to make them a little thicker and less harsh.  I still have to apply the same amount of makeup on my eyebrows each day.I wanted eyeliner to go to the outer edge of my eyelid and to get a little thicker at the end. Carmen only did the base of the lash line and wouldn't extend it further. I would not classify this as eyeliner. I am happy with how it looks, but would have liked more as I had asked. For some reason the browner colors did not take on my skin, so it is black, but Carmen tried twice, so that must just be my skin. I wanted a natural outline on my lips. I was happy with it at first, knowing that she starts out conservatively, and was hoping to get a more definition without a lip liner line showing. She said more would look unnatural and to leave it as it is if I want it to look natural. There is barely a difference on my lips from before I had any of this done. We had a lengthy consultation prior to the tattooing and I brought photos and came in with brow powder in to give an example of what I would like.I am not unhappy with what I have now, just did not get what I tried very hard to ask for and still have to apply makeup, so wasn't much of a value. Hello! I just graduated from the softap Micropigmentation class and I was absolutely astounded by how much more you learn here than any other class in this area! For relatively close in price to other classes around here that have at least 6-10 students per class and only learn hair strokes, this class you learn an array of techniques using only the highest quality product while having 1-3 students per class. Super hands on, one on one training and let me tell you that Carmen Melo is a goddess! I could not have hoped for a more amazing teacher. She is well known, has years and years of experience and is well respected by many plastic surgeons and fellow artists. She is very well experienced and educated in this field and you be stupid not to go to her. If you can't afford it yet, save up! Another class at a lower price will not be worth your time. Carmen is also a very sweet, funny, charming and mellow individual which makes her teaching presence a huge pleasure to be around. She is easy to talk to and very informative with any questions that come up. You will feel ready to work when you leave, not feeling like this was an in and out process that you aren't ready for. Carmen did the best job on my eyebrows. I highly recommend her. The salon is decorated very chic and inviting. As soon as you get there she makes you feel very comfortable before and during your procedure of getting your brows done. I waited a long time before getting them done as I was nervous about the needles. She showed me the tools she would be using explained what she would be doing and made me feel very relaxed about the whole thing. She kept asking me if I was okay as she knew how nervous I was. She explained throughly what I needed to do for the follow up care of my brows.
