Dan is THE man! My husband and I visited Electric Oni Tattoo after reading reviews on Yelp about Dan, Alex and the shop. I was looking for an exceptional tattoo artist to cover up my first tattoo on my lower back. The thing is, I did not want it to LOOK like a cover up - so I spoke to Dan about what I was looking to do - he has a chill genuine vibe so I instantly felt the trust! My initial thought was to use a certain flower to cover it up but he said that it wouldn't work because of how dark the initial tattoo is (it was all black) and then showed me pictures of the work he had done on other cover-ups with Lotus flowers. I was blown away! I could not see the previous work under what he had put over it and it just looked like a beautiful tattoo. I felt super comfortable about the whole vibe in the shop, after meeting Dan and Alex (the shop manager) and decided to book. Made the appointment for a few days later and was blown away at the art he had created to cover up my old tattoo. BLOWN AWAY! and I'm not exaggerating. It was a gorgeous pink, purple and yellow lotus flower that would fit perfectly over the previous art. My experience with Dan was amazing. He is definitely my new tattoo artist from here on out! The shop manager, Alex, was a doll too! I sat for 4 hours, no problem. He finished my back cover up and even did a smaller wrist tattoo for me too! Quecke was my artist for both tattoos I received from this shop. One was based off a drawing he already had displayed, a hammer, and one was a totally custom piece he drew from my ideas. The line work on both pieces is near flawless and I twitch a lot while getting tattooed. The color has remained vibrant over that past three years. I have nothing but positive things to say. I am so impressed by his work. These two are still my absolute favorite tattoos. I kind of wish I could go back to Petaluma just to get more ink from this shop! I got tattooed by Dan at this location. I came in with a custom piece which required quite a bit of creative flair on his part, and he took the references for the piece that I had brought in and designed a fantastic tattoo. When I initially set up the appointment, he had made a price quote for a 3-4 hour session. However, on the day of the appointment, he spent a good two hours reworking the piece with me so that the symbolism was all correct and it was exactly to my liking, and then another six hours tattooing me. Despite this, he was a man of his word and only charged me the amount he has quoted me initially. He deserved far more than that, however, and hopefully I was able to reflect that with my tip. The artists at Electric Oni are good people with solid roots in the tattoo aesthetic and tradition, and I'm glad I was able to find them for my tattoo. Dan is an amazing artist. He really puts a lot of thought and effort into his work. He is very courteous and easy to talk to. Dan is extremely professional and detail-oriented and he will take the time to make sure the drawing and stencil are perfect before starting your tattoo.  From the get-go, Dan recommended a larger size of stencil and a certain placement. I was very indecisive and had him move it around and change the size several times so I could see what it would look like. I ultimately ended up taking his original suggestion, which must have been super annoying for him, but he was sooo patient and nice about it.  I guess the moral of the story goes...trust the professional! Don't Walk In---------------My wife and I read great reviews and walked in around 7:00pm to get a small "O" and me an "X" on the outside of our lower pinky fingers. I followed post tattoo directions I've used on my other tattoos very closely but I knew something was up right away as it looked odd the following morning.Two weeks later it's almost fully healed, totally "blown out" on the left side (ink super blurred), the lines are different thickness and looked tapered, and the spot where he started is actually raised and scarring. Extremely dissapointed as it is in a very visible spot and looks horrible. Wife's isn't scarred or raised but the thickness of the lines are uneven and it looks more like a coffee ring then a font O.Giving a two as the guys were cool and they responded after I posted offering a free touch up (four hour drive so couldn't take them up on it.) Maybe just get something that doesn't require straight crisp lines if you walk in. Read Less

Quecke is extremely talented. I presented him with an idea and a few pieces of art to combine. He took time and put in a lot of effort. The stencil came out more beautiful than i could have imagined! Another Tattoo another parlor and another Artist... Seeing how I live in Oakland and there are many good places and artists in Oakland going all the way to Petaluma might seem a little crazy for a tattoo, but on a recommendation (and my other artist was booked) I went over the bridge to Electric Oni in Petaluma.  I usually take art work with me but I arrived sans art work but Quakes was not fazed. I looked at a few script books and saw the style I wanted and he drew it up pretty fast... the finished Tattoo blew me away, Quakes went to town on my neck and put all his skill into it.  Note even thou it was a neck it didn't really hurt too bad as Quakes has a nice light touch....  Will I be back oh YES !!!It's also a really great place, old school looking with flash every where including the ceiling, the shop was bright and clean.  I'd give 6 Stars if I could 'One better' !!!
