Annelise is an incredible! The whole process was enjoyable because of her kindness and easy going attitude. I came in with a rough sketch and she turned it into a beautiful design that I'm absolutely stoked to have on my arm (I get so many compliments on it!). I give this parlor 3.5 stars. The service was good, and I got what I asked for. I could have been much more clear on what I wanted, but what I walked away with was less than perfect. Make sure you know exactly what you want when you walk in. Do not settle for less. It has been a couple months since I got my tat here, and I still look at it with sad eyes... there are thick lines where there shouldn't be, and mess ups that the artist said would "go away" after a few years...... Got my first tattoo with Annelise. It was an awesome experience. She made me feel safe and respected my needs. It was a friendly environment. I felt confident of my artist. Walked in today to get our first tattoos and we are so happy we did. Harry was fantastic!-  explaining everything, helping me design exactly what I wanted, being patient while helping to put my daughter at ease for her first tattoo. All of the staff - and customers - were excited for us as we did our first tattoo together for her birthday! I don't know what to say other than posting a photo of my jailhouse tattoo. The photo on the left was our inspiration photo. My cousin and I came to Valkyrie last March for matching tattoos and unfortunately left with a permanent marking of Nikki's bad attitude. We received a refund, but are quite unsure of how this will be covered up. I live on the east coast, and only see my sweet cousin once every few years. The tattoo is so terrible it's laughable. I would give them six stars if I could.I have been thinking about getting a tattoo for a little over five years but I had been letting my fears get the better of me.  I practice Nichiren Buddhism (we chant Nam Myoho Renge Kyo) and I had a turning point in my practice, where I realized that it was time for me to stand up and face my fears head on.  My determination to get a tattoo was my concrete action to do exactly that and my tattoo was a reflection of my dedication to the practice.I had heard about Valkyrie Tattoo from a friend who has gotten multiple tattoos there.  I asked him why and he told me that he really liked the vibe and the people working there were really cool.  I have heard stories of other tattoo shops where there is a condescending attitude toward newbies.  I did not feel an ounce of that here.  No tattoo snobbery but really down-to-Earth.I went in about three weeks ago and Annabelle at the front desk was super helpful and friendly.  She heard my concerns, answered my questions and talked to me with a deep level of compassion and sincerity.I gave Jen the artwork during that visit and emailed with her, back-and-forth, several times before my visit.  I told her about the spiritual journey and what brought me to get the tattoo.  I feel like she really understood how important to me and understood how significant this decision was for me and I felt like she takes her work very seriously.  It is not just about making money but really helping the client feel satisfied with their decisions.Not only did she does a marvelous job with helping me pick a size, location and alignment but she was incredibly gentle, not just in how she handled the tattoo needle but in how she listened and interacted with.  She has a great depth of compassion, I was really touched by her approach and energy.  She made my experience very, very fulfilling.I went in with some trepidations but the experience was truly amazing from start to finish. My sister was coming to visit and we had a short time frame and she wanted to get matching tattoos. I had called many shops in the area with no luck in making an appointment. Finally Annabelle called and she was so nice and invited me to come to the shop where I met Jen who listened to my ideas and said they would draw up our art. When we arrived Harry inked us and although our tattoos were small and simple he did an excellent job, exactly what we wanted. JEN is a rockstar! I've been going to her for 2 years now. She is a true artist with an awesome personality to go with it. She has an incredible eye for color and detail. She created a gorgeous rainforest piece on my side filled with animals and exotic plants. I had a hideous lion on my ribs that she was able to re work and flow her art below and above it. The shop has a comfortable atmosphere with other friendly tattoo artists. Everyone gets along with one another, no drama shop! They have badass crazy art on the walls. Has a grunge metal feel to it. A lot of artists are stuck in their ways and aren't easy to talk to. Jen on the other hand is very patient, open to suggestions, and always listens to what her clients want. She also has the lightest hand of any tattoo artist that has ever tatted me. She takes care of her clients making sure you're comfortable and happy! I have gotten two tattoos from Jen. Both have turned out spectacular and even though I moved away from the area, I plan on coming back eventually to get more work done. I went to Valkyrie to get my first tattoo. I was extremely nervous and had no clue as to what the experience would be like, but Jennifer (and the overall environment of the shop) made me feel at ease.
