The woman I encountered today was so rude. I would never give a place like this my business.  The first time I spoke to her she was short and rude though she answered my question at least. The second time I spoke with her for clarification she answered my question, but was so angry and Bchy about it like she hated the sight of me yet I'm pretty sure I've never met her. Unfortunately I paid Heather $2,500 in advance for a large piece. She cancelled multiple appointments without notice over a 6 month period. When she cancelled the last one 3 hours before my appointment time claiming to not have the ink to do the work we had scheduled she became extremely irate & unprofessional when I tried to point out that it’s not cool to cancel appointments with no notice. From that point on she has refused to complete the work she was paid for in advance (leaving me with a piece that is only 3/4 complete) & also refused to refund the cost it will require me to pay another artist to get the work completed by a professional who behaves as such. She gives honest feedback on sizing and has no problem saying what will work or not work because she won't compromise the level of artistry on the final product. Thank The Painted Siren for making my cleavage look so great (pre-tattoo it wasn't looking too exciting nor appealing). I truly had a unique, lovely experience getting yatted here so different from the other tattoo experiences I've had, and I'm a veteran. WHAT I WANTED: I had been wanting a cleavage tattoo and as per usual, pulled up like 10 different images of what I imagined it to look like that were all completely different, lol. I wanted the design to be kinda intricate (a hand making an OK sign with the evil eye above it) but wanted more precise line work and nothing too crazy in terms of shading.THE PROCESS: Heather was super fast at responding and is always a sweet pea. She is genuinely excited about the work she does and puts lots of TLC into her pieces. It shows. THE SHOP is very homey, clean and comfortable. On top of being passionate, Heather is patient and really works with you to get exactly what you want. I've had other tattoo artists make me feel so rushed and annoying when I would offer a suggestion. When my piece was finally finished (she's speedy Gonzales by the way), I WAS IN LOVE. We were both so excited over it!IN CONCLUSION: I am enamored by this freaking cleavage for the first time ever all because of this gem, Heather! Her enthusiasm, passion, conversation, and skills made this a memorable, positive experience. After a couple of false starts, I was able to connect with Heather, who made time to do my tattoo. It is small. It is not complex. It could be done in about five minutes. I've had three pieces done by Heather, the owner, and they all turned out amazing!  She is very friendly and approachable and is highly talented to boot; I don't think I've seen a bad or borderline piece by her ever. She's also very on top of her after-session care and will touch-up anything that doesn't meet her high standards or yours.The shop itself is clean and comfortable and bright, with lots of art to browse  Shop rates are competitive and the turnaround on art commissions is pretty quick.  Appointments seem orderly (though plenty of regulars drop in to visit) and I've never had a cancellation or last-minute change.  Parking can be tight; it is streetside or an across-the-street lot, but that's really the only downside I can think of here.  All in all, I expect to keep coming back here for as Read Less

I want to start by saying that I have not had any work done on me by Heather. This is not a review of her art or her craftsmanship (which I know nothing about), but simply a review of her professionalism (or lack thereof). I made an appointment to get some henna art done, and gave Heather a $40 deposit. On the day of our appointment, I went to her shop and it was closed. No one was there. I sent her a text, and she finally responded saying that she couldn't make it to the appointment. (Why, as a professional, would you wait until your client is AT your shop, asking where you are, to say that you need to reschedule?) A few weeks later we rescheduled. Due to my own absentmindedness, I forgot about our appointment until almost midnight the next day. Entirely just slipped my mind, which is pretty lame, and I wish that I hadn't done that. Considering she's the only artist at the shop and that meant that she probably was sitting around just waiting for me, it seems pretty reasonable that she would text me or call me after I was 15min late or something and ask about my ETA. I do understand that doing that is not her responsibility, but it does seem like a professionally courteous thing to do, and the "That's not my job" excuse (which she absolutely espoused via text later) reeks of adolescent immaturity. She charged me the deposit for the missed appointment, and said we could reschedule. I declined. Heather later expressed that she had been kind enough to waive the deposit for the time and money missed on the first appointment (the one where she stood me up) and couldn't do that a second time.  Whatever. That's definitely not the sort of attitude or behavior of anyone whom I'd want to work with. Read Less
