I'm not sure how the tattoos are here because I didn't go to get a tattoo, so ignore this review if you're coming to get a tattoo, but I'm writing a review about piercing cleanliness because what I've been through has been too bad not to write a review. I came here to get my nose pierced because my friend had recommended the shop to me because she got her tragus pierced here and she said that the piercer here did a good job so I trusted her on that. First of all, the piercer only gave me a bag of salt and some instructions to make a salt water mix to clean my nose, which if you go to a quality shop, you should get real sterile saline after piercing care spray/wash. Second of all, a few weeks later I got something that looked like a pimple near my nose. I started cleaning it more times a day and it went away and I was relieved and thought it was ok. However, a few weeks later it returned and then went away after constant cleaning. In addition to the salt water mix, I tried making and leaving on a salt paste in addition to buying real sterile saline aftercare piercing wash, but nothing worked. It kept going on like that for 3 months until finally I had to see my dermatologist and she had to examine my nose and she diagnosed it with a bacterial infection that had been on the outside skin and inside the piercing. She had to drain the pus from my nose and prescribe me a topical antibiotic and remove my piercing to fully remove the bacteria. Luckily, I've had the piercing so long that the hole is open and I can take the piercing in and out and clean the bacteria out fully, but all my problems stemmed from the fact that the piercing tools used weren't sanitized properly. Bottom line, at least for nose piercings, I suggest going else where.

This tattoo shop is clean & has a friendly atmosphere. I contacted Mike about a piercing & he got back to me pretty quickly. I went in that same day & got it done. I even booked an appointment for a tattoo & went in today & got in done. He helped figure out size & placement & made me feel better about how it would look.During, the session he asked me how I was doing & reminded me that if I ever needed a break then to let him know. He kept conversation going & rechecked the tattoo to make sure he didn't miss any spots. Mike's the best & was overrall a great experience. I will definitely be back!!

I have been to a few tattoo shops and this is by far the best shop. Clean, professional, and great people. Shane does all my work and I will never go anywhere else. He has transformed my sleeve into a piece of work. I am no longer ashamed to show my sleeve. It now looks like a piece of art. I wish I found him years back. Mike the owner is an artist himself and takes care of his customers.

I went to get my septum pierced here on the 26th of August, the man the pierced me was very nice the first time I will give him that, but when getting it done it hurt SO BAD, but when it was pierced I was so excited to have it that I didn't fully look at the placement, I loved it but after having it for a couple of hours and actually looking at it I realized it was way too low/far down, I left it for a week and took care of it the way that was recommended, the day after and until day 3-4 after it was pierced it was hurting whenever I would smile, it was scabbing, and once in a while when I'd clean it there was a small bit of blood. I went to a different shop to get a second opinion on the placement and they told me it was definitely too low and that it didn't look right. I went back to the shop and they refused to admit that it was too low or that the placement was incorrect, he just kept saying it was perfect and that it had only been a week. I asked for him to take it out and for a refund and he took it out but refused to refund my money because "it was perfect and had only been a week".

Awesome place. Great work. My friend and I got some tattoos last night and it was great. Good artist,I believe it was Dusti, but he is light handed and it was a pleasure. I recommend this place and I WILL be back to finish my sleeve.There are a few other places on the street and Black Rose is hidden in the back of the strip mall. I think if they were on the street like Hawaii or Monroe it would be better but the are definitely a hidden gem. Nothing against either of those places but Black Rose is one of the Best shops I have been to.

Awesome place to get tattooed. I walked in with my idea and Mike was able to look at it and set up an appointment immediately. The day of he was professional and made sure all of his equipment was clean (and even pointed out unsanitary tattoos on the news during our tattoo). Halfway through I was a little light headed and he was very understanding bring it was my first tattoo. The finished product blew me away. I gave him an idea and let him do what he thought was best and it was well worth it. I plan on coming back here for another one soon. Make sure to ask for Michael.

My husband wanted a specific tattoo late on New Year's Eve and we called a few tattoo shops in the area and no one was available until we called Shane at Black Rose Tattoo. Even though he was closing up he made an exception and had us come over. His tattoo was done with amazing skill and tons of ink and the cost was very resonable. Shane even spent extra time than planned just to make sure his work was the best. The interior of The Black Rose shop is very clean and a relaxing atmosphere with amazing artwork by the tatto artists whom work there. The second tattoo my husband received from Shane was of a dragon head with the dragon's claw coming out of him arm. He was more than please, not only with the quality of artwork, but the excellence in which it was done. Shane guarantees all his work, and even though it's been quite a bit longer than 3 months, for the free touch up if needed, Shane responded to my husband's concerns of needing a slight touch up in some areas. He had my husband send him a picture of his tattoo and upon inspecting the picture had my husband come back down at a convenient time to do the touch up for free!Excellent customer care, professional, quality service,Friendly and relaxing atmosphere. Guaranteed to walk away with a tattoo you'll be proud to show off!

I've finnally found an artist that understands exactly what I want. That has been hard to find in this area! Michael the owner & staff were friendly & proffesional & knowledgeable of all styles.His color is solid and lines are clean! I know everytime ill leave happy and proud of my new ink .I first was pierced by him, I noticed the shop was very sterile and proper sanitation was being used, my piercings were fast and healed amazing. So I messaged Mike first thing in the morning on Thursday 3/1/18 about a tattoo I wanted to get on my forearm, he replied right away with an opening that day. When I got to the shop it was really chill and super clean which I appreciated, Mike and I sat down and talked over what exactly I was looking over. After a few minutes Mike went into the back to draw, when he came out he had gotten exactly what i wanted so we started tattooing. It only took about 2 hours and pretty much no pain at all, even with outlining, shading, and coloring, there were even some points where I thought he had stopped but he was still going. I will definitely be back to Black Rose soon. I am coming back for the mermaid Mike!!!Thank you for everything!!!

I'm so happy with it, and I can't wait to go back for color. Shane also did a wonderful job on my husbands piece! They were very patient with us, and very kind. Although I didn't get pierced while I was there, Veronica was very nice to us as well and had no problem answering all of my questions about her work and different piercings. Mike at Black Rose tattoo is an amazing artist, listens to his clients and always makes sure you are 100% satisfied with his work, if you are a 1st timer he is patient and understanding if you have been inked before you will be amazed at how light of a touch he has while giving you great detail that has colors that pop. This was my 2nd time with him and tho this one was pretty basic he made sure he made it just as I wanted it. With all the tattoo shops in the area to choose from, choose carefully as some are fly by night scratchers that have no business inking your skin permanently. Visit is shop and you will see it is clean well laid out and his artwork amazing. 5 stars all the way, thanks Mike will see you soon for the big project, Fender Bass meets skin.... Rock on B

I can easily sum up Black Rose with one word, Fantastic. I have gotten both tattoo'd and Pierced here, by Mike and Veronica respectively and both were experts in their craft. I couldn't complain if I wanted too. Due to personal choice i have never gotten more then one tattoo per artist. However, I will definitely be going back to Mike for more work. As for piercings, I got 2 Dermal's in my forearm and a Helix. They were all quick and easy with no messing about. Quick and accurate with her needle (which were all opened from their packaging in front of me, one of my piercing pet peeves) there was just about no pain to speak of. Again, will for sure be a return customer.Just knowing of a shop that I actually want to have more work done at by the same people is a huge + mark for me. Outside of the people doing the work, the shop is clean and comfortable. You cannot go wrong with Black Rose.

I'm not sure how the tattoos are here because I didn't go to get a tattoo, so ignore this review if you're coming to get a tattoo, but I'm writing a review about piercing cleanliness because what I've been through has been too bad not to write a review. I came here to get my nose pierced because my friend had recommended the shop to me because she got her tragus pierced here and she said that the piercer here did a good job so I trusted her on that. First of all, the piercer only gave me a bag of salt and some instructions to make a salt water mix to clean my nose, which if you go to a quality shop, you should get real sterile saline after piercing care spray/wash. Second of all, a few weeks later I got something that looked like a pimple near my nose. I started cleaning it more times a day and it went away and I was relieved and thought it was ok. However, a few weeks later it returned and then went away after constant cleaning. In addition to the salt water mix, I tried making and leaving on a salt paste in addition to buying real sterile saline aftercare piercing wash, but nothing worked. It kept going on like that for 3 months until finally I had to see my dermatologist and she had to examine my nose and she diagnosed it with a bacterial infection that had been on the outside skin and inside the piercing. She had to drain the pus from my nose and prescribe me a topical antibiotic and remove my piercing to fully remove the bacteria. Luckily, I've had the piercing so long that the hole is open and I can take the piercing in and out and clean the bacteria out fully, but all my problems stemmed from the fact that the piercing tools used weren't sanitized properly. Bottom line, at least for nose piercings, I suggest going else where.

I even booked an appointment for a tattoo & went in today & got in done. He helped figure out size & placement & made me feel better about how it would look.During, the session he asked me how I was doing & reminded me that if I ever needed a break then to let him know. He kept conversation going & rechecked the tattoo to make sure he didn't miss any spots. Mike's the best & was overrall a great experience. I will definitely be back!!

I went to get my septum pierced here on the 26th of August, the man the pierced me was very nice the first time I will give him that, but when getting it done it hurt SO BAD, but when it was pierced I was so excited to have it that I didn't fully look at the placement, I loved it but after having it for a couple of hours and actually looking at it I realized it was way too low/far down, I left it for a week and took care of it the way that was recommended, the day after and until day 3-4 after it was pierced it was hurting whenever I would smile, it was scabbing, and once in a while when I'd clean it there was a small bit of blood. I went to a different shop to get a second opinion on the placement and they told me it was definitely too low and that it didn't look right. I went back to the shop and they refused to admit that it was too low or that the placement was incorrect, he just kept saying it was perfect and that it had only been a week. I asked for him to take it out and for a refund and he took it out but refused to refund my money because "it was perfect and had only been a week".

Awesome place. Great work. My friend and I got some tattoos last night and it was great. Good artist,I believe it was Dusti, but he is light handed and it was a pleasure. I recommend this place and I WILL be back to finish my sleeve.There are a few other places on the street and Black Rose is hidden in the back of the strip mall. I think if they were on the street like Hawaii or Monroe it would be better but the are definitely a hidden gem. Nothing against either of those places but Black Rose is one of the Best shops I have been to.

Awesome place to get tattooed. I walked in with my idea and Mike was able to look at it and set up an appointment immediately. The day of he was professional and made sure all of his equipment was clean (and even pointed out unsanitary tattoos on the news during our tattoo). Halfway through I was a little light headed and he was very understanding bring it was my first tattoo. The finished product blew me away. I gave him an idea and let him do what he thought was best and it was well worth it. I plan on coming back here for another one soon. Make sure to ask for Michael.

My husband wanted a specific tattoo late on New Year's Eve and we called a few tattoo shops in the area and no one was available until we called Shane at Black Rose Tattoo. Even though he was closing up he made an exception and had us come over. His tattoo was done with amazing skill and tons of ink and the cost was very resonable. Shane even spent extra time than planned just to make sure his work was the best. The interior of The Black Rose shop is very clean and a relaxing atmosphere with amazing artwork by the tatto artists whom work there. The second tattoo my husband received from Shane was of a dragon head with the dragon's claw coming out of him arm. He was more than please, not only with the quality of artwork, but the excellence in which it was done. Shane guarantees all his work, and even though it's been quite a bit longer than 3 months, for the free touch up if needed, Shane responded to my husband's concerns of needing a slight touch up in some areas. He had my husband send him a picture of his tattoo and upon inspecting the picture had my husband come back down at a convenient time to do the touch up for free!Excellent customer care, professional, quality service,Friendly and relaxing atmosphere. So I messaged Mike first thing in the morning on Thursday 3/1/18 about a tattoo I wanted to get on my forearm, he replied right away with an opening that day. When I got to the shop it was really chill and super clean which I appreciated, Mike and I sat down and talked over what exactly I was looking over. After a few minutes Mike went into the back to draw, when he came out he had gotten exactly what i wanted so we started tattooing. It only took about 2 hours and pretty much no pain at all, even with outlining, shading, and coloring, there were even some points where I thought he had stopped but he was still going. I will definitely be back to Black Rose soon. I am coming back for the mermaid Mike!!!Thank you for everything!!!

Although I didn't get pierced while I was there, Veronica was very nice to us as well and had no problem answering all of my questions about her work and different piercings. Mike at Black Rose tattoo is an amazing artist, listens to his clients and always makes sure you are 100% satisfied with his work, if you are a 1st timer he is patient and understanding if you have been inked before you will be amazed at how light of a touch he has while giving you great detail that has colors that pop. This was my 2nd time with him and tho this one was pretty basic he made sure he made it just as I wanted it. With all the tattoo shops in the area to choose from, choose carefully as some are fly by night scratchers that have no business inking your skin permanently. I can easily sum up Black Rose with one word, Fantastic. I have gotten both tattoo'd and Pierced here, by Mike and Veronica respectively and both were experts in their craft. I couldn't complain if I wanted too. Due to personal choice i have never gotten more then one tattoo per artist. However, I will definitely be going back to Mike for more work. As for piercings, I got 2 Dermal's in my forearm and a Helix. They were all quick and easy with no messing about. Quick and accurate with her needle (which were all opened from their packaging in front of me, one of my piercing pet peeves) there was just about no pain to speak of. Again, will for sure be a return customer.Just knowing of a shop that I actually want to have more work done at by the same people is a huge + mark for me. Outside of the people doing the work, the shop is clean and comfortable. You cannot go wrong with Black Rose.

Walked in today and was greeted right away and the artist Darby took his time in helping me design exactly what I wanted. Was not expecting to be able to get such a great piece done in the same day. Cool vibe and kick a$$ artist.

Best Tattoo shop in the Folsom / Orangevale / greater Sacramento area. Mike (owner) is fun and professional. He takes pride in his work and always does an outstanding awesome job. It all started with a small wrist skull and crossbones and has resulted in a total of 10 pieces done over the past few months. Mike and gang at the Black Rose Tattoo shop work in a clean and professional environment. Mike will do anything you're looking for and provide his artististic insights. I just went in to get my one of many tattoos and i would have to say this place has a great staff. Saxon was very personal and great to work with and mike the owner was very nice. The shop itself was so clean and was relaxing. I am going back to this shop and recommend them to many.!
