My 91 -year-old mother had always wanted a tattoo, so this year that's what my son and I decided to give her. I checked a lot of Yelp reviews trying to decide where to take her. I went into American Vintage to do, as I called it, "recon". It was very important to me that I felt comfortable with whoever was working on my mom. I had concerns about her age and of course her skin. I talked with Neal and immediately felt comfortable. He was very sweet and put all of my concerns to rest. When I took mom in, she asked him a million questions and he very patiently answered all of them. He was very kind and caring towards her and made it a great experience. Aaron did my tattoo almost two years ago and I neglected to leave a review then!  When our beloved kitty died in June 2015, my husband and I wanted to have her paw print as a tattoo.  I emailed Aaron after perusing his work on Instagram and FB.  He was nice (and really sympathetic about the loss of our cat) and helpful with scheduling the appointment.  Aaron was great to work with.  We brought in a photo of our kitty's paw, and he turned it into a beautiful tattoo.  His hands are light (this was my husband's first tattoo, and he barely felt a thing), and he's pleasant to talk to while he works.  The shop was clean and nice.  Highly recommend American Vintage Tattoo! Bud has done most of my work.  He's talented and has drawn up traditional custom designs for me. Most of the time I just grab a pic from the Sailor Jerry books he has. While in Orange, why not get the Los Angeles Kings crown I've always wanted. We were recommended American Vintage Tattoo.Got there and we were greeted by Copper. We didn't have an appointment but I sent him a picture of the crown I had in mind from my iPhone. After a short while he applied a template on my back and I liked it so we started the ink application. It was my first tattoo and Copper answered all my newbie questions about the process. I have to admit it did hurt some but I had my BAE there to comfort me.It took less than fifteen minutes and it came out nicely. First of all the place is super clean and everyone who works there is super nice and laid back. I have known Ryan for a while now and told him i was going to come in to get a tattoo for years but i have been too afraid. I've gotten six out of nine of my tattoos from Bud and I will NEVER go anywhere else. Bud has the lightest hands, I barely feel a thing and everything that he's worked on for me has been absolutely beautiful.I currently live on the east coast and refuse to get any tattoos until I visit and get it from him because I know he will always do a great job.The rest of the guys in the shop are absolutely hysterical and make you feel comfortable while maintaining a very clean environment. 10/10 would recommend!! Got a Bart Simpson raven tattoo a couple months ago by copper and I absolutely love it, it's not too big and it costed me $100, when i tell people that they say I could've gotten it cheaper, yes that's true, but you pay for what you get, I made that mistake with my first tattoo($100 for a poorly done sugar skull) and copper said he can fix it up instead of giving me a cover which was my original idea. I love this place and will be coming back for more when I'm in the area because I live out here in Downey but the drive will be worth it. I recommend this shop to all my friends. I have quite a few tattoos, and all but two are from Griffen Gurzi. I've been going to him since he was an apprentice. His work is clean, Unbelievably detailed, and my tattoos from 2 years ago, look like they are brand new. (I sunscreen them like crazzzzy) The shop has an interesting vibe..... Like most shops do. Someone's girlfriend is hanging out, someone is crying because of how much it hurts (wimps) and it smells like green soap. Before I came here, I stopped by another shop a month before, I wanted to cover up a tattoo on my arm, the shop I went to, told me they weren't sure how much will be covered, that I would need to give them a few weeks to draw an outline, that it would most likely be black with no color, and that it would take two sessions. A month later I saw that Bud had an opening, I told him what I wanted to do, the next day I show up to the shop, he took about 20 min to draw up my design, 4 hours later I had a groovy tattoo that COMPLETELY covered my previous tattoo AND I had multiple colors on it. Mind you I'm very dark, and the colors still came out great!Overall the shop is clean, cool atmosphere, I'm definitely coming back to Bud, and Bud only!
