Unfortunately, I didn't have a great experience at Painted Hand Tattoo. Like many of the previous reviewers here, I went for one of the "deal" days (2 for 1 Friendship Tattoos/Piercings). As it turns out, you get what you pay for. Pros: - It was only $15 for each helix piercing because of the 2 for 1 deal.- Mauxe ("Brightan Shiny") was a very no-frills piercer, but kind and down-to-earth. (Loved how she gave us little stuffed bunnies to hold on to for "guilt-free choking," and also appreciated the after-care guide)- Everyone working at the shop seemed to genuinely love their job and helping out their customers. Cons: - My friend set an appointment ahead of time for 2pm, but we had to wait 1.5 hours before finally getting called up around 3:30. Not too sure why they take appointments, since we were placed behind walk-ins. - Mauxe put on the earring pretty tight, not allowing space for the ear to swell. This caused some discomfort later on and we had to loosen the earring ourselves. - The hole was pierced with a 20-gauge needle, which didn't quite match with our other helix piercings (18 gauge). Admittedly, we didn't ask about the size and just decided on the cheapest option, but we're not too experienced with sizing and I feel like it should have been mentioned. - The business solicits 5-star reviews, offering 5% off for each review on Facebook, Yelp, and Google. Pretty sure this is against Yelp's TOS -- I'm not impressed with activity like this, since now I'm questioning each 5-star review on this page. Maybe we just had a rare bad experience, but for my next piercing I'll probably shell out the money and go somewhere else. Read Less
