Let me start off by saying this is by far the best thing I have ever done. Before this I had virtually no eye brows to see.. Totally blond & I am a light brunette. I am almost 50 ladies & sooo tired of waking up & coloring in my brows ( another 5 min of doing make up that I don't have). I also could never get the shape I wanted & one was either a thicker or stronger line than the other.. And the rubbing off factor when I worked out, swam or rubbed my eyes.. Ugh endless reasons.Shadi is very explicit in the her directions for after care.. She repeats this several times.. So I did exactly what she had said.. & Whala perfect., I have the shape I have always wanted with virtually no pain.I love working with people that that are a master of their craft!!! I would highly recommend that you look very closely at the pics that she shows you of her "best work".  Most of the eyebrows are not well done or centered.  I went there a couple of years ago with a Groupon and despite my concerns, she talked me into having my brows done (which I had previously had tattooed, so I knew what to expect).  I went into the room and lay down on the table, then realized that the owner was going to be tattooing my eyebrows while she was sitting my my SIDE?!  How can she get good symmetry if she's not sitting at the head of the table, looking down at both eyebrows at the same time?  Then she asked me what color "I" wanted:  light, medium or dark....I told her that I wanted her to look at my hair color and make a determination based on her experience.  When I had my eyebrows done previously by another artist, she mixed and tested several colors out before selecting the right one (I have blonde hair - why would I every want DARK eyebrows?).  After she applied the numbing stuff and I was moving forward with the tattoo, my gut was just screaming so I (thankfully) just told her I couldn't go through with it and I wanted a refund.  Since that time, I've heard from several other people who have had less than stellar results.  this is your face, make sure you know who you're going to! So far so good! I gifted my already-beautiful partner a Groupon for some permanent makeup back at Christmas so she could get some permanent color on her eyebrows and never have to fuss with the pencil again. I only partially used her as a guinea pig because I'm interested in getting upper eyeliner for those IDGAF days that I roll out of bed and get moving- which as of late, is every day. Shadi is a very gentle soul with a great eye for detail. She is an artist of many media, so my anxiety was manageable as I sent my partner in to permanently change her face. I don't know just how anxious my partner was; she undoubtedly put on a brave front to spare me added anxiety, but when she came out, I still couldn't read how she was feeling. In the hours following the tattoo work, she hopped the fence between loving her new look, and feeling worried that the brows were not 100% even (she's got an obsession with a very unnatural amount of symmetry that we often argue about). As the brows healed, she grew more comfortable with them- the color is exactly the natural color she needed, and while we will be back to get them touched up, the shape is very flattering and natural as well. I'm still on fence about getting eyeliner done, but if I were to do it, this would be the place I'd give my business to. Either way, we will be back. Very unprofessional place. Nobody cares about anyone.  My wife had made an appointment and we drove all the way from SF and nobody was there. Shadi Monfared has absolutely no customer service or care. She didn't show up for her appointment and didn't care. Not happy at all! Wish I read the reviews first. Stay away!I found this person Shadi on groupon.  Shadi did permanent makeup on my eyebrows. She did NOT draw eyebrows on me. Nor did she measure where they should be. Even after I asked her to first, so I can see what they would look like.She said I was being to picky. And after she was done. One eyebrow is extremely higher, and shorter then the other one. They are extremely high arches that I did not ask for.I felt like crying. I asked her to fix them. But Shadi argued with me and tried to get out of it.  She said if I was going to be so picky, she would not do my touch up. I told her I would never come back for a touch up with her. She wanted me to pay for a touch up that she messed up.She was pushy and unprofessional. Now I'm stuck with my uneven eyebrows until they fade. She did what she wanted on my face. Not what I wanted.I seen Shadi responding to reviews, making it seem like it will all work out after it healed. But my eyebrows are healed and they look horrible! I recently had permanent eyeliner, both upper and lower, done by Shadi and I love it! She's very professional and amazing at what she does. There was minimal pain during the procedure due to her technique, as well as minimal swelling after. I'll be getting the touch-up soon and eventually I'm going to get my eyebrows done. I am currently going though my second treatment of laser tattoo removal thanks to Shadi.  She does what she wants as far a shape and color goes and argues with you when you think that your brows are not even.  She didn't even take the time to draw them out before, she just freehanded and as a result my brows were completely uneven and not matching.  My mother had similar issues, hers turned out better than mine but again Shadi did what she wanted not what my mother wanted.  We asked her about touch ups when we were leaving and said it would be an additional $100.  This was the biggest waste of money and now I am paying even more money to get them removed and touched up.  I wouldn't even want to go back to her to get them touched up. Cosmetic Tattooing - I have seen Michelle twice for cosmetic tattoos and am very pleased with the results.  To put this into perspective.... I first had my eyeliner done at one of the top rated (and overpriced) places in the city. I went back 3 times for touch ups only to be left  with gaps and spaces where my eyeliner had come off.  I still wanted my eyes tattooed, but was very apprehensive based on my other experience. How could I go to this small place in Novato when the "best" didn't work for me? Well, put your judgments of a small salon aside because Michelle gets the job done. PLEASE NOTE: I accompanied the recipient of Shadi's work, did not receive any myself from her personally. I gifted Shadi's permanent brow tattooing for my mother's birthday and went with her. I'm surprised to have read any positive reviews about Shadi. My experience is quite the opposite. She doesn't listen to any specific requests of how you'd like the brows-- she does what SHE thinks is best without taking into account what YOU'D like! Terrible! She claimed to do the "brush stroke" technique but even after requested adamantly, she filled in the brows totally SOLID, jet black! Its horrible and looks so bad AND they are not symmetric at all!!! Can you believe? She literally does not even listen and gets very defensive and talks over you. My mother hated the job she did and it's PERMANENT! Hello? Who's face is it??? I am very picky and I've wanted to get permanent eyebrow make up for a long time.I've searched a lot but couldn't trust anybody, until I saw one of my friends who had her eyebrows tattooed. I was like... WOW!!! If I didn't know her I couldn't tell that those weren't her natural eyebrows! She referred me to Shadi, and said she is an artist and she knows what looks best on you. Finally, I felt confident enough to give it a try.  Now, I am so happy and satisfied by my new look! ok, so i'm a guy and let's face it, cutting a guy's hair isn't rocket science (unless you have to do george michael's hair...) but pam gives me great haircuts and she does it quickly (guy's love quick for haircuts) and nicely (it takes five years off my looks imho!). i have been going to pam for over three years now and the only complaint i ever had was a crooked sideburn (which she promptly corrected). i could get my hair done more cheaply at some chain but there is no comparison between the two. so this saturday, i'm off to loose ends to look five years younger while wifey is away for the weekend! Pam's been taming my mane for nearly 15 years. I always know that when I come for a cut and highlight (yes, it's happening, but Pam does wonders at hiding the little gray mice that keep creeping into my roots.) I'll walk out looking haute! She's reliable, accomodates your schedule, absolutely reasonably priced and always, ALWAYS does a terrific job. This last time I saw her I wasn't really sure what I wanted  so I just told her to make it up as she went along. I love Pam! She has been highlighting and cutting my hair for 10 years. She is very personable, talented and makes herself very available to her clients by being responsive and flexible. Her color work is excellent and reasonably priced for her level of skill. Even though I have kept my color relatively consistent over the years, I still get compliments on it regularly. As far as my hair goes, Pam probably knows me better than I know myself. She always closely follows my direction, and will gently talk me out of anything she knows I'll end up disliking.
