Shop was very clean and nice, and staff was friendly, but sadly I ended up with a very very poorly done tattoo. When I arrived for my first appointment the Kristina had prepared all the wrong colors, so needed to make a last minute change. I gave her a general color scheme and trusted her to pick the tone and placement of the colors to make the tattoo look good. This did not happen. The whole tattoo looks washed out, blotchy, and there are areas that literally look like a 4 year old colored my tattoo in. I went back for one touch up to try and fix some of the mistakes and poor shading choices and I was charged an extra $100 and the tattoo ended up looking ever worse. Eventually and decided I needed to get the tattoo removed because it was so bad and I emailed the artist to inquire about a refund for her poor work and she denied it and blamed the bad tattoo on me for various reasons, none of which made sense as to why the tattoo looked the way it did. I am super sad, this tattoo represented something really special to me, I put almost $500 towards it, and was treated really unfairly when I tried to get things made right. I will be getting this tattoo removed when I can.

I had an amazing experience with Donovan today. Tired to get in a month ago, but they were booked. Decided to try again, and they were able to fit me in today, may 17th. With only a small idea of what I wanted he was able to create a one of a kind piece for me! I absolutely love it. Its so beautiful. He really took time to explain what he envisioned and make sure I liked where he was going. I'm so glad I tried to get in with them again! Well worth it.

Both my wife and daughter had Kristina do great work on them, and when I decided to get a tattoo myself (my first) I scheduled an appointment with her.Wow. She was fantastic. I really like what she did for me. I had an idea of what I wanted and she took that input, added to it and came up with something perfect. It was just what I wanted. She had some ideas on sizing and angles for the work that really made it that much better.Kristina was super cool, very patient, and made me feel comfortable in my first-ever session. I was admittedly fairly nervous about the experience going in, and she made it something really positive that--literally-- will last a lifetime.Both Kristina and Donovan would do a wonderful job with whatever you're looking to have done, and if you're a first timer they will take great care of you. Their styles are wide-ranging, their talent is superb, their personalities are fun; I highly recommend Golden Owl!

Donavan and staff are amazing! So friendly, accommodating, and professional. Three of us went in today for a consult. We were immediately greeted and the atmosphere is super comfortable. Love the music! Anyways, we went in today to discuss artwork. Two of us knew exactly what we wanted, and Donavan looked at the drawings we brought in and his confidence was refreshing and appreciated! One of us shared an idea, but was concerned about placement and potential pain. Donavan was very informative and his attitude was very positive and made us excited about our tattoos! Upon check out, the friendly gal at the counter made appointments for us, and was equally as professional and helpful. The only thing is Donavan was booked way out. Might be because two of us wanted to come in together. We were hoping to get then done sooner. Anyways, I'm looking forward to my new tattoo, and more in the future!

Being from the area originally but moved away, when on a visit home Kristina bent over backwards to make an appointment available for me to be tattooed by her. And it absolutely didn't disappoint. I'm in love with what she did and because of her talent and amazing personality I will continue to be tattooed by her on my visits home. Donavan was so accommodating, he squeezed me in last minute on a Friday night, for what was basically a walk in (which is hard to get at most shops anyway). He took the time to go through all different fonts and what would and wouldn't work for my design and placement, even though I was keeping him past closing time. While he was working he kept the conversation going, especially during the more painful spots to distract from it, which I really appreciated. All in all, he was funny, kind and super professional. Extra shout out to the girl at the front desk as well (I didn't catch her name), she was very helpful and polite when I called and while we were waiting. So nice to find such a great spot, will definitely be back!

I have two tattoos from Donavan and they are both beyond my expectations. Went in with some general idea of what I wanted. It was like he read my mind as we talked it over. Then he drew it out and tattooed amazing pieces. He is easy to talk to and will give honest/insightful advice. Finally saved up enough for a tattoo I've been wanting for years, and a coworker steered me to the Golden Owl. Best advice I've ever gotten!Kristina is an amazing artist, and a delight to work with. She took my vague description of what I wanted and drew up a beautiful piece of art that I'm very happy to wear, and I'll be going back to her once it's healed to add some color. The atmosphere in the shop is great, everyone is super friendly and down to earth. Definitely would recommend!

I went to Forrester at the Golden Owl based on a referral from a friend. I didn't know much about tattoos when I went in and I found that Forrester's expertise, friendliness, and personality made for a GREAT tattoo experience. He was helpful, knowledgable, and turned my vision into a reality. We were able to talk the whole session and I could tell her really valued me as a client. In fact, my experience was so good that I went back a second tattoo and am planning my third with Forrester soon. The Golden Owl is an incredible tattoo shop and I would gladly recommend any of their artists to my friends.

One star is giving this place too much credit. Husband and I were staying in Calistoga (out of our way from this joint). We called ahead of time to make sure they can do a very small, thin finger band. They said, "oh yah no problem, just get here as soon as you can!". So we did and Forrester (one of the artists) said , " No cannot be done!". We wasted our time - our vacation time! The work would have taken 10 minutes. So we decided to go elsewhere (Garage Ink)... Garage Ink was very accommodating, super nice, and extremely clean. Glad Owl Tattoo pushed us to a much better place!

I had a certain vision in mind for a tattoo so I shopped tattoo artists before deciding on an artist/location. I found Kristina & really liked her work, so I met with her and was really pleased with our first meeting. She welcomed all my ideas & the little details I threw at her, and for the first time I was working with an artist on a design. Not only was she great to work with, she nailed it on the design! During our first session I learned that she apprenticed under Donovan (shop owner and "the man" here in Napa) for 2 years before tattooing for him, which tells me the shop has a certain standard they want to uphold. And it shows. Nice tucked-away location, clean shop. Everything about it wins. Definitely going to be my go-to if I'm ever ready for another.

The Golden Owl is the absolute best! My first three tattoos were from other shops and although I wasn't unhappy with them, I wasn't totally blown away. My last two I got from Donavan and now I'm spoiled and won't go anywhere else! My daughter actually found this place and has since had two (one by Donavan and one by Christina), I've had two (total hours gettin' inked - 8 1/2) and my boyfriend has had one (total hours gettin' inked - 15) and every minute was a blast. We absolutely LOVE our tattoos and are always happy to tell people where we got them when we get compliments (and believe me, we get a LOT of compliments!)As others have said, all the artists have great attitudes and are fun to be around. Cleanliness and safety are important to these guys and gals, which is a big deal to me. And don't let Donavan's speed fool you - the final product is always amazing!So if you live anywhere near the Napa Valley and want to get a tattoo, go to The Golden Owl! Keep in mind, though, Donavan is in great demand so the waiting list for him is hella long. But trust me, it's worth it!

I got my first tattoo here, and it was a great experience. Forrester was extremely friendly and professional, answering all my questions and making me feel at ease. The shop is decorated awesomely and had cool music playing. The banter between the tattoo artists was entertaining too. My tattoo turned out perfectly, and only cost half of what I was quoted. Both quick and quality! If I get another tattoo someday, I'll definitely go back there again.

I had an amazing experience with Donovan today. Tired to get in a month ago, but they were booked. Decided to try again, and they were able to fit me in today, may 17th. With only a small idea of what I wanted he was able to create a one of a kind piece for me! I absolutely love it. Its so beautiful. He really took time to explain what he envisioned and make sure I liked where he was going. I'm so glad I tried to get in with them again! Well worth it.

I really like what she did for me. I had an idea of what I wanted and she took that input, added to it and came up with something perfect. It was just what I wanted. She had some ideas on sizing and angles for the work that really made it that much better.Kristina was super cool, very patient, and made me feel comfortable in my first-ever session. I was admittedly fairly nervous about the experience going in, and she made it something really positive that--literally-- will last a lifetime.Both Kristina and Donovan would do a wonderful job with whatever you're looking to have done, and if you're a first timer they will take great care of you. Love the music! Anyways, we went in today to discuss artwork. Two of us knew exactly what we wanted, and Donavan looked at the drawings we brought in and his confidence was refreshing and appreciated! One of us shared an idea, but was concerned about placement and potential pain. Donavan was very informative and his attitude was very positive and made us excited about our tattoos! Upon check out, the friendly gal at the counter made appointments for us, and was equally as professional and helpful. The only thing is Donavan was booked way out. Might be because two of us wanted to come in together. We were hoping to get then done sooner. Anyways, I'm looking forward to my new tattoo, and more in the future!

Donavan was so accommodating, he squeezed me in last minute on a Friday night, for what was basically a walk in (which is hard to get at most shops anyway). He took the time to go through all different fonts and what would and wouldn't work for my design and placement, even though I was keeping him past closing time. While he was working he kept the conversation going, especially during the more painful spots to distract from it, which I really appreciated. All in all, he was funny, kind and super professional. Extra shout out to the girl at the front desk as well (I didn't catch her name), she was very helpful and polite when I called and while we were waiting. So nice to find such a great spot, will definitely be back!

I have two tattoos from Donavan and they are both beyond my expectations. Went in with some general idea of what I wanted. It was like he read my mind as we talked it over. Then he drew it out and tattooed amazing pieces. He is easy to talk to and will give honest/insightful advice. Finally saved up enough for a tattoo I've been wanting for years, and a coworker steered me to the Golden Owl. Best advice I've ever gotten!Kristina is an amazing artist, and a delight to work with. She took my vague description of what I wanted and drew up a beautiful piece of art that I'm very happy to wear, and I'll be going back to her once it's healed to add some color. The atmosphere in the shop is great, everyone is super friendly and down to earth. Definitely would recommend!

I went to Forrester at the Golden Owl based on a referral from a friend. I didn't know much about tattoos when I went in and I found that Forrester's expertise, friendliness, and personality made for a GREAT tattoo experience. He was helpful, knowledgable, and turned my vision into a reality. We were able to talk the whole session and I could tell her really valued me as a client. In fact, my experience was so good that I went back a second tattoo and am planning my third with Forrester soon. The Golden Owl is an incredible tattoo shop and I would gladly recommend any of their artists to my friends.

One star is giving this place too much credit. Husband and I were staying in Calistoga (out of our way from this joint). We called ahead of time to make sure they can do a very small, thin finger band. They said, "oh yah no problem, just get here as soon as you can!". So we did and Forrester (one of the artists) said , " No cannot be done!". We wasted our time - our vacation time! The work would have taken 10 minutes. So we decided to go elsewhere (Garage Ink)... Garage Ink was very accommodating, super nice, and extremely clean. Glad Owl Tattoo pushed us to a much better place!

I had a certain vision in mind for a tattoo so I shopped tattoo artists before deciding on an artist/location. I found Kristina & really liked her work, so I met with her and was really pleased with our first meeting. She welcomed all my ideas & the little details I threw at her, and for the first time I was working with an artist on a design. Not only was she great to work with, she nailed it on the design! During our first session I learned that she apprenticed under Donovan (shop owner and "the man" here in Napa) for 2 years before tattooing for him, which tells me the shop has a certain standard they want to uphold. And it shows. Nice tucked-away location, clean shop. Everything about it wins. Definitely going to be my go-to if I'm ever ready for another.

The Golden Owl is the absolute best! My first three tattoos were from other shops and although I wasn't unhappy with them, I wasn't totally blown away. My last two I got from Donavan and now I'm spoiled and won't go anywhere else! My daughter actually found this place and has since had two (one by Donavan and one by Christina), I've had two (total hours gettin' inked - 8 1/2) and my boyfriend has had one (total hours gettin' inked - 15) and every minute was a blast. We absolutely LOVE our tattoos and are always happy to tell people where we got them when we get compliments (and believe me, we get a LOT of compliments!)As others have said, all the artists have great attitudes and are fun to be around. Cleanliness and safety are important to these guys and gals, which is a big deal to me. And don't let Donavan's speed fool you - the final product is always amazing!So if you live anywhere near the Napa Valley and want to get a tattoo, go to The Golden Owl! Keep in mind, though, Donavan is in great demand so the waiting list for him is hella long. But trust me, it's worth it!

I got my first tattoo here, and it was a great experience. Forrester was extremely friendly and professional, answering all my questions and making me feel at ease. The shop is decorated awesomely and had cool music playing. The banter between the tattoo artists was entertaining too. My tattoo turned out perfectly, and only cost half of what I was quoted. Both quick and quality! If I get another tattoo someday, I'll definitely go back there again.
