flying colors is one of the best tattoo shops around. clean and wonderful artists who give what a customer asks for every time. i have seen half sleeves come out of that shop that most would pine after. great prices and rocking artists! how could anyone ever say that they received a bad stick? first off, think of how dry and wrinkly elbows are. secondly you know tattoos are permanent. you are at the risk of the person tattooing you. it's not an option to decide later that you regret it and try to get your money back. that would be like my grandpa telling the guy who gave him a tat 40 years ago that he wanted his money back because the ink ran and now you can't tell what it was. there's always the thought that you could cover them. i waited for a long time to get tattooed at flying colors and when i did it was one of the best over all experiences i have ever had. flying colors rocks and you'd be dumb to say otherwise Read Less

I made an appointment with Laura and brought in my buddha statue that I wanted tatted on me. She took a picture of it, drew up the other part I want added to it and asked me if that is what I wanted. Looked great. I was SHOCKED when what she tattooed on me was a mirror-image of the drawing. I guess it could have turned out like garbage if I was HIGH or DRUNK but have not been in 5 years. I choose her because she is also a sober sister and has been longer than me. I wish that you could post pictures here because MY tattoo looks AWESOME!!!!!!!!! It was worth all the pain. I also appreciate that she gave me a free balm to put over my tattoo during the healing process. What I am getting at is she is filled with love, care and ATTENTION TO DETAIL. As I have said before, I am GLAD its perminate. EVERYDAY strangers say to me ""I love your Buddha tattoo."" They KNOW its buddha because he is CLEARLY reconizable because of the fine detail from Laura, not some friggen hackjob. Go here but ONLY if you want an excellent tattoo. Don't just take MY word, go and look at her portfolio. She has TONS of pictures and she has a myspace with TONS of pictures there too. SHE HAS PROOF THAT HER WORK IS NOT GARBAGE!!! I came to flying colors with a messed up tattoo by some local idiot (not from flying colors). I told Laura the tattoo artist what I was looking for in this ideal tattoo I had wanted. Which I had gone to several other places in the area and could not get an artist to duplicate what I had in mind, no one original. In tell I met Laura. It took Laura 20 min to duplicate what I wanted. She's a love, very detailed in her work. My Tattoo is Beautiful, healed great no problems. I am so appalled by the other reviews I've read by Flying Colors. I've had 2 tattoos done by Laura and they're both amazing! I had one done recently and I am so in love with it. I was so scared by my first one and I swore I wouldn't get another one! But I had such a great experience that I wanted to go back! Flying Colors is such a great place to go! This is not what Flying Colors is about. they are one of the oldest shops in napa, and I would like to personally speak with this person who is a HUGE scam artist. I'm reading this other's guys review that was negative and I am really confused. First of all, how in the world do you expect to tattoo elbows and come out with perfect lines? My first thought would be that this would change depending on how you have your arm positioned at that very moment. Try drawing on someone's elbow and then have them bend their arm daily and tell me if your lines look perfect all the time. Anyways, extremely confused by his post. If you are considering getting a tattoo, I don't recommend taking advice from a guy who tattoos stars on his elbows. I on the other hand only have tattoos from Flying colors and got my first one almost 9 years ago and wouldn't go anywhere else. I live in Jacksonville, FL now and am considering flying out there to have some more work done. 8 1/2 years later and I get just as many compliments on my tattoos now as the first week they were done. I am a terrible tattoo client and forget my sunblock and don't properly take care of my ink. However, they still aren't very faded. This shop uses quality ink and the owner is one of the most phenomenal artists I have ever met. I wouldn't trust anyone else doing something permanent on my body. Getting a tattoo is a big decision, you can't ever change your mind. I had a Cat in the Hat tattoo that I wish I could take back but that isn't the tattoo artists fault, that was my decision making skills when I was 19. The actual tattoo looks like Dr. Seus drew on my arm himself, but the content is something I would change if I could do it over again. So my advice is, think twice before getting stars put on your elbows, but definitely don't ever think twice about where to get your tattoo work done! I have always been able to talk about my ideas and have what I want designed for me, and have never been unhappy with my tattoos. ME AND MY WIFE JUST FOUND OUT WE ARE HAVING OUR SECOND BABY.SO I DECIDED TO GET TWO NOTTICAL STARS. ONE ON EACH ELBOW. MY NORMAL SHOP POPS OLD TOWN TATTOO WAS REALLY BOOKED. SO I DECIDED TO GO TO FLYING COLORS TATTOO SHOP. I WAS SO WRONG FOR THIS CHOICE. THE STARS ARE IN DIFFERNT SPOTS ON THE ELBOWS. ALSO THE LINES ARE NOT STRAIGHT ON EITHER ONE OF THEM. SOME OF THE LINES ARE NOT LINES AT ALL THERE DOTS. SHE ALSO SHADED OUT SIDE THE OUT LINES ON BOTH STARS. JUST HORRIBLE TATTOOS PERIOD. AND THE SAD THING IS THERE FOR LIFE. SO NEVER EVER GO TO THIS SHOP FLYING COLORS TATTOO IN NAPA CA 94559 IM LOOKING INTO TAKING THIS SHOP TO COURT FOR THIS.
