Thank you Midori @ Essential Ink and Body Art. Friday night suddenly became a "Pre Prom Freakout" for my 16 year old Daughter. She was changing out nose rings for a special one for prom. Of course it wasn't easy to get out and impossible to put the new one in. Needless to say there were anxious tears. I had never been to Essential but I have heard great things about piercings and tattoo work. We called over and were quickly greeted by Midori, the Body Art specialist. She happily let us know we could come right over. Within minutes Midori has my Daughter calm and ready to go. Midori showed us the rings she carries but in no way did she try to over sell us. I contacted Luke after looking around at a number of different tattoo parlors.  After reading the reviews and checking the past work for the artists, I decided to reach out to Luke for an abstract/trash polka half-sleeve I was looking for someone to design.I reached out to him at the parlor on his day off, and asked him to give me a call back when he had a moment.  A day or two later, I got in touch with him and sent him over a 'wishlist' and a few reference images I had to lead him in the right direction.  After a few days, he had sent me a picture of what he had designed, and it exceeded my expectations.  We discussed pricing which was fair, and I was able to schedule the start of a session for a week or two out - fully expecting it to take a few sessions to complete.The first was the line work and a bit of the red.  I was under the needle for approximately 8 hours, and Luke actually stayed past his shop closure to continue and get what I wanted done completed.  The follow on sessions and touch-ups all went without a hitch, and I have asked Luke to design 2 additional tattoo ideas I have.  He may have a lifetime customer here!The shop is very well kept and clean, and is constantly servicing customers - but never overcrowded.  The staff is very personable and friendly, and it's easy to kill a day-long tattoo session with conversation and laughs, alone.I have already recommended Luke to two friends/family, and will continue the trend.  They're also completely in love with his work.Glad this place is right around the corner!Thanks, Luke! I love my newest tattoo - done by Luke! The shop is pretty rad. It's very loudly decorated with an intense colorful mural - it's the first thing that catches the eye - and lots of beautiful works of art all over. The artists have their work in books scattered in the waiting area and are all very talented in their own personal style. You can find them on social media to further explore their work. When I walked in, we were greeted right away and taken care of. During my experience, walk-in customers popped in and were also acknowledged right away. The atmosphere is really friendly and welcoming. Needless to say, customer service here means a lot to the employees/owners and it shows! Most importantly, the place is very clean and up to date on all of its permits etc. I 100% recommend this place.I got my baby girl's footprints tatted on my left forearm in the shape of a heart and I love it so much! Luke is awesome! He was very thorough when asking what I wanted and is detailed in his work. My tat looks like I dipped my baby girl's feet in ink and stamped it on my forearm. Took my daughter here to get her ears pierced. The employees were super friendly and well mannered. They were extremely good with my young daughter. Very patient and kind. And shes someone who doesnt care for strangers getting to close to her and she let them do what they needed and I was surprised! She did great and they were amazing with her. My experience with getting my daith pierced was excellent. Midori is kind and calm, she made the piercing go by so fast and smooth.. I was beyond nervous to get this done, but I figured a little pain from the piercing is nothing compared to the agony of a migraine. I ended up being allergic to the piercing metal and Midori was so nice and accommodating. She switched it out to a titanium barbell, my ear was so swollen from the metal allergy she couldn't get the bottom on. I ...was told to come back after the swelling went down and we get the bottom piece on. Well....the barbell fell out when I was cleaning it. So I thought, maybe this just isn't meant to be. I was so disappointed, the daith piercing was truly helping with my migraines. The day after it fell out, I had my worst migraine yet, an ocular migraine with crazy visual disturbances. So I called Midori and she said come down. She was able to get the earring back in. Needless to say I am beyond grateful for her kindness. I love this shop. I came here years ago when the original owners were there and it was crap. The new owners have completely changed it around! I went to see Midori for a daith piercing at the recommendation of a friend who had hers done to relieve her migraines and has had incredible results. I was a little apprehensive as I was told by my accupuncturist that there is no proof of it actually working, however, since I know others who have had this done and also had positive results, I figured I'd give it a try; if it doesn't work I'll have a cute piercing or I can just remove it. Well, within the first couple of day...s of getting the piercing, I started getting a migraine due to my lovely monthly cycle, but 20 minutes into the migraine, it went away... woohoo! It has been a month and a half and I have not had a migraine since. We went here a couple of weeks ago to get my 4 year old's ears pierced as well as my second holes in my ears. I do not remember the piercer's name, but she was absolutely wonderful! She knows what's she's doing and she verifies you're good with the location of the holes prior to piercing(I've had an issue in the past with the piercer just going for it without marking or verifying). She took time with my daughter and was careful when putting the hollow needle through. My daughter is extremely shy and sensitive to pain but didn't shed a tear, flinch, or feel scared. We have had no issues with the healing process so far. The place is clean and she used sterile tools. I had called around to a few piercing places and these guys were the cheapest place (that also had good reviews). We paid $25/person whereas other places were saying $40-65 just for my daughter! Definitely recommend going here for piercings. I'll be back for a couple of more down the road as well as checking out the artists here for some tattoos in the near future. Read Less

This was one of the absolute best tattoo experiences I've had! The shop was clean, a great balance of male and female artists, the music was good, they take cards so I didn't have to remember to go get cash, and everyone was incredibly knowledgeable. I came in to see Madori yesterday for a daith piercing and upper cartilage piercing, but was having serious second thoughts about the daith as I was pretty much chickening out. After carefully reading multiple reviews on this tattoo/body art parlor, I decided to choose them to do my first facial pericing. I'm very glad I chose them, as I was greeted by their staff they were very friendly and knowledgeable, made me feel very comfortable when asking my questions and concerns. At the time of the pericing, my peircer Lauren, was very calm and collective. She guided through the pericing steps which made me feel very at ease. During the pericing I felt as if I needed a breather/break and she was very professional and understanding about it. I went to this shop to get piercings, its Not my first time, i wanted snake bites, the first day I went their piercer had to re due my left side 3 times, and she still couldn't get it straight ,it was so slanted and way lower then the other side she pierced, after the third time she pocked the needle through my lip I decided to take it out,it looked so bad, so I went back the next week (because I'm an idiot and thought she MIGHT be able to do it right) she pierced it again an...d it was slanted, the back piece was more to the center of my mouth ,it should have lined up with the front hole, the stud slants down so.they don't look.good together. I'm very unpleased ,she couldn't get it right after poking me 4 times on the same side.. Im sick of going to places and paying people who do a terrible job.
