Had a tattoo done by Chow a year ago, for someone who says he doesn't normally do Polynesian style artwork, he nailed it! My first tattoo and I'm a baby boomer and I would go back in a heartbeat... Yes Chow is pricey but if your going to put something on you that's permanent why cut corners.. if you don't want to wait for three months to get appt with Chow, MATT is the man! Super chill guy with unbelievable talent and very professional. He nailed a tattoo on my girlfriend that is PERFECT! His lines are  very clean and he takes his time, very impressed! Excellent experience is an understatement! Ian Miller is such an amazing artist! He was kind respectful and funny. He was so easy/ light with his hand and did such a great job on my arm! He kept conversation which helped the process. Just got the first session of my cover up by Rob Richards, many artists said my arm was lost due to it being the start of a half sleeve, rob was confident from the second he saw it could be turned around. I came here a few years back...worse experience ever.1)It took MONTHS like maybe four to even get a consult which I was like whatever he must be really good then if he's in such high demand ?2) It was extremely expensive 3) the guy was a total jerk to me. This was going to be my first tattoo and I wanted something small to start off with..the guy wouldn't listen he kept insisting on a bigger size and on top of that there was certain things I wanted to tweak that I didn't like in his sketch and the guy totally flipped out on me going on about how he's an artist not some puppet?!?? Uh ok? Whose the one wearing this tattoo forever??? I'm pretty sure I should get the final say on what goes on me? You would think right? Rob Is currently working on a back piece that he designed for me. It is absolutely custom and beautiful! I have had previous tattoos by other artists. I had him look at the tattoos I have and he let me know why my skin seemed to absorb the ink creating a blotched look in the detail areas. He explained they tattooed to deep into my skin and in one there is scarring. While tattooing the design he did for me I practically fell asleep. My lines are clean, I had basically no swelling, and I am on day 6 with minimal scabbing. My tattoo is very detailed and he has my sessions spaced to allow for healing and reduce risk to my skin. I will never go to any one else for a tattoo due to his Professionalism, Creativity, and gentleness with a tattoo needle. I have heard of Talisman Tattoos for the last 13 years, I should never have gone anywhere else. Well I had Ian miller and at first he was cool but Well personally I'm not going back to him he knows me already and when I told him I only had 50 dollars at the moment for a deposit and wanted to schedule an appointment and that I'd give him the other 50 when I got payed he wouldn't do it and I had to wait 3 months for my tat and he was stupid enough to say he forgot about it and cancelled and after that I bugged him for 2 weeks till he got ahold of me i texted called and messaged him on Facebook every day until he probably got annoyed and responded and he charged me 300 dollars for the outline of my tat which he didn't even finish so it looks kinda dumb and for the follow up appointment I told him a week in advance I didn't have enough money to go in for the next session hoping he would hook me up for lagging so much and not even finishing so overall he's pretty sketchy and I don't know about that guy just like every other sketchy or irresponsible tattooer in my view anyone who's professional wouldn't do that to someone who brings in clients very disappointed Read Less

I got my first and only (so far) tattoo done here, by Rob and I couldn't be happier. I sat in and watched him tattoo a friend a few times and I knew I could trust another artist with my skin. Every artist in this shop is super talented and all of the art on the walls and on other peoples skin really proves it. Prices are good, $100-$150 an hour and in that hour you can get anything you want. Definitely coming back for more ink! Read Less

I'd give this zero stars if I could. I have a tattoo that I wanted freshened up, not covered, along with some additional work. He wouldn't even talk to me. What an ass. He could of at least consulted and given advise. I've had all my tattoos done by Chow personally and they are perfect. The only downside to having Chow do your tattoos is that you will probably have to get on the waiting list. I won't consider having anyone else tattoo me. I can't speak about any of the other artists but Chow is the best. Read Less

Wow where to start.. the shop is the cleanest shop i have ever been in.. Been to more than a few. When it comes to art its some of the craziest. When you go to the talisman you know its going to be a one of a kind. His pallet goes beyond that of most artist. Which definitley sets his pieces apart from others. NO DISRESPECT to all of the other artist that have tattood me but Chow is the best person to have tattood me. After planning a trip to California from Montana to complete a large piece we had been working on for several years, an hour before my appointment time, I received a phone call cancelling my appointment, due to a broken water heater at Chow?s home. (Not even from the artist and business owner himself, but from his lackey of a brother, Mark)There was no attempt on the shops part to reschedule me, knowing I had traveled far to have this tattoo completed. I had to beg and two phone calls later, I was given an appointment 5 days after the original one, even though they knew I would no longer be in the area. I decided not to take the second appointment and rearrange my trip, as I had no guarantee that the same thing wouldn?t happen again. Well then I did get a phone call from the man himself, Chow, telling me what pieces of you know what my husband and myself were (my husband had some words with Mark) and Chow blaming the whole thing on me.(its my fault he lacks good business practices?) Needless to say I was devastated and now have no idea what to do with my half done tattoo. I hope anyone traveling to have work done by this man, regardless of how beautiful the artwork, will read this and be forewarned about how he treats his paying clients. Now I know why he can?t keep other artists or managers in his shop, and why his brother has to run things for him. If this is how he treats his paying clientele I can only imagine how he treated those who worked with/for him. Don?t be deceived by the artwork, the man is petty and full of himself and doesn?t care about the integrity of his business or his integrity as a man. I can?t even say he?s in it for the money, because my sitting that day would have more than paid for his new water heater. Please think twice before going to see this man for your artwork. Although the art might be beautiful, it?s my experience that nothing else about doing business with Chow or Talisman Tattoo will be. Read Less

Best in town? Chow is THE BEST in the nation!! Chow has been tattooing me for years. I travel from Oregon to get art from this guy! I have been in 3 tattoo mags featuring my sleeve that has never been touched up, and is 8 years old! Cleanest shop I have ever seen (and I have been in a lot of shops from the east to the west coast). I would pay twice as much as I do, to get tattooed here!
