This was the first place that didn't openly tell me how dumb I was for getting initials on my body (trust me I know I'm stupid, but it was 4 years ago). I had already heard good things, but I needed to find out for myself. I went in with my friend who wanted to get her first tattoo. I needed a cover up. I was prepared to get a complete cover up. Like blasted up my side. The first guy we talked to was cool and he told me they could just shade it in for me. I was relieved. They sent over Vito, "the cross and initial cover up specialist" Hahah he was super nice! He took his time sanitizing and setting his area up. We both went up there and he was trying to figure out how to shade. And I just left it to him. He did a great job! I know its just a shade....but seeing as I've been dreading this for so long....I was relieved. I'm beyond happy and I'm planning on going back to him when I decide what I want next! Read Less

So I started my day out looking for Justin at his old parlor. (that's another review I'll do) Found out he was here. I had actually texted him several weeks ago and never got a response so I came to this new tattoo parlor to see if I could get an appointment with him. I wanted some writing done around a tattoo that he had done 3 years ago. Plus I wanted some other work done on my other arm. A nice man approached me and told me he was not in. He took my name and number and assured me that even though Justin was booked through October he would still call me back and possibly I could have an appointment with another artist. That was at the beginning of June and I have never heard from anyone. Not even a text back from Justin. I'm not sure if it's age discrimination or they just don't think my money is good enough for them but I would definitely not recommend this place. Read Less

I recently visited PMA tattoo studio in Modesto Ca. I was searching for a tattoo shop in the area on yelp. My daughter was coming to town and wanted to get her fist tattoo. I picked this shop by the rating here on Yelp and also seen all the reviews about an artist named Jarod. That was a big mistake when my daughter and I went to check out the shop before we booked our appointment. I have never been treated so poorly in my entire life the arists in the shop were unhelpful and flat out rude. No one wanted to help me I felt as if the artist I was talking to about the tattoo my daughter wanted was laughing at me for the questions I was asking and in my opinion didnt care about making money. This was going to be my daughters first tattoo and I have never felt so disapointed with the lack of coustomer service this person had. When we walked in no one greated us we waited in the lobby for over 30min before someone asked us if we needed help.When I first walked in everyone was up in an upper loft looking area in the shop I couldnt see them I could just hear them but still no one came down to help us.  I spoke with a person but didnt get his name.   I was asking for the Artist named Jarod since I read all the great review about that artist. But the person helping me had nothing but mean and negitive things to say about him. I was taken back to see someone down grade another artist in that manner. Needless to say I will never return to that shop. I will make sure to tell everyone about my horrible experience there. This is not a clean shop,  very unprofessional  I wouldnt recomment anyone to be tattooed by the people in this shop. The shop smelled of weed and I witnessed someon not sure if it was an artist or not making a drug deal.  I would not trust a drug attict to tattoo me or my daughter in the first place. Make sure you take time time to review the shop you want to get a tattoo from and make sure the artist is who you want. It is  something permanet I would never recommend this shop.  I can say this shop is the worst in modesto.  * Im still looking for the artist names Jarod... I just finished my third session on my space scene with Jarod Silva. He is an amazing artist and really listens to what you want. I cannot be happier with the tattoo. Jarod does my work and my husbands. He listens to exactly what we want and always has awesome creative ideas. He did a half sleeve on me, a skull with lilies, I love it! He also did some script on my husband and me and it's unique and beautiful. The shop is clean and a lot of fun to be at. The artists actually get along and it's a great vibe. Go check them out!!! Saw that this new shop opened up recently and I wanted to check it out. Really happy I did. The guys over at PMA have a clean shop with a ton of good artists. I got my forearm sleeve started recently and I am very happy with the work. I have at least two more sessions and I'm sure I'll be just as pleased as my first session.
