So on Friday 13th , I got my eighth tattoo at Born to Lose. From my third artist at the shop. My wife, kids and I were Road Dogs that day. We drove in from Redding to Stockton and then over to Modesto to get some new Ink at a great price. Thanks to Tury, Paco and Andrew for the deals and for being beasts and tattooing customers well into the late morning hours, and to Junior for keeping the peace with some surly customers and directing the flow. Literally a goddamn shitshow!!! do not come here if you expect orderly business and good time management skills. if you're looking for a place full of incompetence, negligence, and flat out stupidity, come on down! spent a good third of my friday the 13th here, only to leave twice (first time we waited an hour. second time we came back was almost two) and come back and spend the next 4 hours here to get simple line work done. literally any person that entered the shop after was next in line for their tattoo!! if you have people write their names down in an ordered list to keep things smooth, USE THE LIST. from 9pm to 3 am i spent time here until i was THE LAST PERSON to get work done. we wrote our names down twice, called in, and we still spent 6 GODDAMN hours in this shithole. honestly do not understand how anyone here is still successfully employed at this point, considering everyone is a blithering, moronic idiot! next time i'd rather carve a tattoo on my skin with a knife than spend another second in this barren abyss of straight up hopelessness and foolishness. everyone here is a f*cking idiot and they are well aware of it. would rather spend 6.5 hours in purgatory slowly roasting my own skin on a wooden spit over a blazing flame than ever do anything remotely similar to this experience again Read Less

I went in a few days ago for my first tattoo. I love the service, Tury did an amazing job. He was very gentle and calming, he kept talking to me throughout the section to calm me. I would totally recommend this place for a first tattoo or just to get a new tattoo. The place was very clean and neat, you could tell that they know what they are doing. I've worked at this shop for 9 years now. The shop takes care of it's clients as well as those of us working there. A drama free environment is hard to find in a tattoo shop that's why I've stayed so long. I feel l like our prices are at least comparable to other shops and the work exceeds most shops for the price.I mean yeah, I work here so maybe I'm biased. I came here for my first tattoo almost exactly a year ago (plan on going back) and honestly it was such a great experience. You can instantly tell they’re really passionate about their work. Earl is a great guy and a great artist. My wife who is a virgin to tattoos was real nervous and earl did a great job with her. He hand drew both of our anchor tattoos and redid my bigger drawing a few times to get the names the way not only I liked them but he liked them as well. I have gotten my sleeve done here, had no idea how I wanted I just knew what I wanted, I gave Earl a description of what I wanted and asked him to please draw something out with it, less then two days he called and had a nice piece ready, and I absolutely love it! I have personally seen Drew and Earl both always clean their stations and make sure everything is prepped for the clients appropriately .  Also anyone who walks in is quickly welcomed upon waking in! Looks like they do decent tattoos but every time I work up the courage to get one, they're either closed or lacking in customer service. Sure I'm not the most knowledgable when it comes to tattoos but you shouldn't make your customers feel like jackasses when asking simple questions :( will never go back. Was none to pleased with the way I was treated last month. I brought in a tattoo that I had found in pintrist that had a lot of repins or I know it was good art and not just what I thought was good. After looking at it perplexed the artist tried talking me into something else even though I made it clear that it was exactly what I had wanted. I'll take my $80 elsewhere. I walked in on a Sunday afternoon with no intentions on getting a tattoo. I was just checking out the tattoo shops in the area. After talking to Paco I had made up my mind on setting up an appointment with him. He listened to my ideas and within the next two days he came up with an amazing stencil! I went to Earl Nixon for a piece on the backside of my forearm. Let me start off by saying WOW. He drew out my idea way better than I pictured it. As soon as he showed me the sketch, my jaw dropped. He took his time to redraw it backwards to see which way would look better (most other tattoo artists don't give a f*ck). I made my appointment about a month before because he was booked, but it was way worth it. Super cool dude with awesome talent. The shop is super clean, and welcoming. I have been going to Buddha Tury for a few years now. I lost him for a bit (shop shuffle) and when I found out he opened a new shop I  was stoked. I have been to a dozen or so shops and have been tattooed by various artists over the years. What makes me go back to Tury is that his shop is really clean and he is super friendly. I have been to numerous dirty shops and walk out - I want a tattoo not an infection...Also his friendliness is A+...The shop plays a lot of 80s music - so get your dream tattoo and listen to Madonna!
