This place is RACIST, RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL! Been interested in a particular artist at this joynt. Even started following on IG because I want a half sleeve tattoo and a foot arch tattoo. Long story short, when I went into the shop today, I was totally ignored like I was f**king invisible for 6 unbelievable minutes! Not once did I receive a "hello, we'll be right with you" eye contact, nor any acknowledgement of ANY kind! When I became irritated and asked loudly, "Excuse me, am I invisible or what"? The response I received was, "This is a tattoo shop, if you don't like it, See ya"! Really? WTF happened to customer service?! And why the F**k would I spend ANY of my coins at Main Street Tattoo?!! I politely went down the street to Eagle Tattoos and Body Piercing where I was immediately acknowledged and treated with courteousness and professionalism...and I have NO PROBLEM, WHATSOEVER giving Thore $150 an hour for my tattoo...F**k Main Street Tattoo and Body Piercing for treating me like an insignificant Black woman! They obviously have an issue with people of color. Black people beware of this establishment!

My daughter and I went in on Monday the 21st to get nipple piercings. We had the honor of getting paired with Seana Jean who is simply the most amazing lady ever. She answered every question we had, took her time to make sure we were both comfortable and cheered us on for trying something new. Honestly if it hadn't been for Seana I'm not sure I could have went through with it as I have body image issues but she was wonderful and so welcoming I have never felt so brave and I have to say I don't think i've ever felt sexier. Thank you Seana for an great experience your an amazing Lady.

I got a realistic wolf head with realistic roses tattooed by Robert a couple years ago. I walked into his old shop, not knowing anything but that I wanted a wolf. He said that he would draw something up for me. I came in about a week later and he had this beautiful tattoo drew up for me. I demanded we do it all in one session, even though he said I needed to do it in two. (Listen to him when he makes suggestions, lol.) 3 years later, my tattoo still looks amazing. It hasn't faded, it hasn't bled any. His line work is amazing, his work is amazing, everything about it is amazing. I definitely recommend coming to him for a tattoo. To this day, this is my favorite tattoo and the only one that I haven't regretted at least once. Also, he was very nice and professional but not stuck up during the process. I'm a talker during tattoos and he never once seemed annoyed. He answered any questions I had, before, during and after. I would give more then 5 stars if I could.

Really not happy with the professionalism of this place. Or the lack there of. I took my daughter to get a belly button piercing and while walking in there was a loud group of women in front of the store smoking weed and appeared drunk almost as well. I went in and the nice gentleman inside greeted me and I asked if he knew those ladies out front and he said yes. One is the owner and the other is a piercer there. At that point I just told him I'll come back later. But I ended up going to another shop.

On July 5, 2017 I was tattooed by Stephanie Alvarez! I got an eye with a single tear framed by laurels. I was really nervous because it is my first tattoo and wanted everything to go as smoothly as possible, Stephanie made sure it did. She gave me her number and told me to text her references for the piece and I felt very comfortable doing so.She drew up a beautiful concept based on a little sketch I texted to her and as soon as she placed the the stencil on my arm I was in love. During the tattooing she checked on me and made sure I knew it was okay to ask for a break. She worked quickly and neatly with care. Stephanie made sure to let me know that if I had any questions about healing and aftercare that I should feel welcome to shoot her a text, when inevitably I did have a question she answered it right away. I felt very well taken care of. I love my first tattoo and I can't wait to go see her again for the next one :)

I have 22 tattoos currently, I've been worked on by multiple artists in Merced as well as all over California & even out of state, but when a local Mercedian asks me for a recommendation on a solid tattoo artist, Robert "Bo" Benson (robert_tattooer on instagram) is first that comes to mind. Bo's work is nothin short of amazing, clean lines clean color, just top notch overall, you can tell that he takes great pride in his work. To anyone looking for a solid tattoo artist be it for a sleeve or something small & sentimental, Bo at Main Street is your man.

I chose a dancing Snoopy, and today I went over to Main Street Tattoo and Body. Juno did my tattoo for me, and I simply adore it. He captured the carefree love for life that Snoopy dancing brings to mind. This little simple tattoo will seem so silly and benign to others who get very elaborate, mind-boggling, greatly detailed works of art. So far so good as well as healing goes :-) The guy was currently working on a tattoo so he didn't really have time to sit and chat about aftercare with me but the pamphlet they give you tells you everything you need to know and more about keeping the piercing clean~ Looking to get tattoos in the future and will definitely give this place a call once I've settled on what exactly I want to get-- the artwork is all over the walls in the shop and is seriously impeccable!

I sent her a few pictures beforehand to give her an idea of what I wanted, and she really did bring what I wanted to life! I was a little nervous going in, but she calmed my nerves when she started talking to me throughout the process. The staff there are really friendly and extremely accommodating to giving you what you want, and even adding in their own expertise. If you are looking for a decent tattoo and body shop in the small little town of Merced, here's your place!

Needed to pry my septum piercing open so I could flip it up to visit conservative family members in Merced so I stopped in to Main St and Jesse promptly greeted me and took me back. The business was very clean and well organized. Within a couple minutes, I was able to conceal my septum ring and didn't have to go buy pliers and do it myself! But back to the piercing, I got my belly button done for a second time and was kind of panicky & Angels mannerism & tone set me at ease as she explained the whole process she was going to do and talked me through the whole way. It didn't hurt as bad as I thought it would. My sister got her nose done & it looks super cute too, this girl knows her stuff! I also asked to see her certifications and she gladly showed me and explained their sterilization process so again I was more at ease... Thank you Angel we'll be back again for more sister piercings! lol

My twenty-year old tattoo was looking tired and I asked the artist John to touch it up. I thought it would be a quick fix, but he said he needed to re-do the whole thing or it would not look right. He was not pushy, I agreed, and I am so glad I did! It looks better than it did 20 years ago! (John explained they have better ink now) so my tattoo is vibrant and beautiful. Oh, and everyone in there was very nice - not the 'too cool' vibe I have experienced in other shops. I am even considering a new tattoo and would definitely consult John again.

It was my first time in a tattoo place and it was totally not what I expected! Really cute and non-threatening. I talked to the people there, who were very informative. I did not end up with a tat, but that was due to time constraints and my ambivalence. I would, however, totally recommend this place to anyone wanting a tattoo or a piercing.

I've only come here to get my piercings done and I love it! Jesse is awesome!I first came here to get my cartilage piercing. Then my conch piercing, and a week later my navel piercing. Jesse was very nice every time and informed me very clearly of what to do in order to clean it. He told me if I needed, I can always come in and ask him to change my jewelry for me. I haven't gone in for that yet but I know if I needed to I can count on Jesse!He also helps people change jewelry for free even if they didn't get it pierced by him! Such a nice guy!It's also super easy to contact him via facebook. If I have any questions I just post it and he replies whenever he has time.My friend got her tattoos done here, as well. She loves them!

Best place to get a piercing in Merced. And any kind of piercing. Ask for Jesse! Prices are very reasonable as well. I got my lip and cartilage piercing from Main St Tattoo's by Jesse. They use all new, clean and sterilized needles and such. Jesse knows a lot about piercings, how to take care, what not to do, etc. He makes sure you're happy and everything is okay with your new piercing as you walk out of that shop or even weeks later. Not sure about the tattoos but I saw their art in front of the shop and all the tattoo artists seem very talented. They're super chill, too. Don't be intimidated as you walk through the doors! They are very nice people. They do a lot of community stuff as well. They participated in the Art Hop and had local bands come and play in their shop. They also hold their own events as well to bring the community together with live music, raffle drawings, etc.Come by if you ever need a piercing or a tattoo.

This place is RACIST, RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL! Been interested in a particular artist at this joynt. Even started following on IG because I want a half sleeve tattoo and a foot arch tattoo. Long story short, when I went into the shop today, I was totally ignored like I was f**king invisible for 6 unbelievable minutes! Not once did I receive a "hello, we'll be right with you" eye contact, nor any acknowledgement of ANY kind! When I became irritated and asked loudly, "Excuse me, am I invisible or what"? The response I received was, "This is a tattoo shop, if you don't like it, See ya"! Really? WTF happened to customer service?! And why the F**k would I spend ANY of my coins at Main Street Tattoo?!! I politely went down the street to Eagle Tattoos and Body Piercing where I was immediately acknowledged and treated with courteousness and professionalism...and I have NO PROBLEM, WHATSOEVER giving Thore $150 an hour for my tattoo...F**k Main Street Tattoo and Body Piercing for treating me like an insignificant Black woman! They obviously have an issue with people of color. Black people beware of this establishment!

My daughter and I went in on Monday the 21st to get nipple piercings. We had the honor of getting paired with Seana Jean who is simply the most amazing lady ever. She answered every question we had, took her time to make sure we were both comfortable and cheered us on for trying something new. Honestly if it hadn't been for Seana I'm not sure I could have went through with it as I have body image issues but she was wonderful and so welcoming I have never felt so brave and I have to say I don't think i've ever felt sexier. I got a realistic wolf head with realistic roses tattooed by Robert a couple years ago. I walked into his old shop, not knowing anything but that I wanted a wolf. He said that he would draw something up for me. I came in about a week later and he had this beautiful tattoo drew up for me. I demanded we do it all in one session, even though he said I needed to do it in two. (Listen to him when he makes suggestions, lol.) 3 years later, my tattoo still looks amazing. It hasn't faded, it hasn't bled any. His line work is amazing, his work is amazing, everything about it is amazing. I definitely recommend coming to him for a tattoo. To this day, this is my favorite tattoo and the only one that I haven't regretted at least once. Also, he was very nice and professional but not stuck up during the process. I'm a talker during tattoos and he never once seemed annoyed. He answered any questions I had, before, during and after. I would give more then 5 stars if I could.

Really not happy with the professionalism of this place. Or the lack there of. I took my daughter to get a belly button piercing and while walking in there was a loud group of women in front of the store smoking weed and appeared drunk almost as well. I went in and the nice gentleman inside greeted me and I asked if he knew those ladies out front and he said yes. One is the owner and the other is a piercer there. At that point I just told him I'll come back later. But I ended up going to another shop.

On July 5, 2017 I was tattooed by Stephanie Alvarez! I got an eye with a single tear framed by laurels. I was really nervous because it is my first tattoo and wanted everything to go as smoothly as possible, Stephanie made sure it did. She gave me her number and told me to text her references for the piece and I felt very comfortable doing so.She drew up a beautiful concept based on a little sketch I texted to her and as soon as she placed the the stencil on my arm I was in love. During the tattooing she checked on me and made sure I knew it was okay to ask for a break. She worked quickly and neatly with care. Stephanie made sure to let me know that if I had any questions about healing and aftercare that I should feel welcome to shoot her a text, when inevitably I did have a question she answered it right away. I felt very well taken care of. I love my first tattoo and I can't wait to go see her again for the next one :)

Bo's work is nothin short of amazing, clean lines clean color, just top notch overall, you can tell that he takes great pride in his work. Deciding which tattoo I was going to get in remembrance of my Dad was a fairly easy decision. My Dad always loved the "Peanuts" comics, particularly Snoopy. I chose a dancing Snoopy, and today I went over to Main Street Tattoo and Body. Juno did my tattoo for me, and I simply adore it. He captured the carefree love for life that Snoopy dancing brings to mind. This little simple tattoo will seem so silly and benign to others who get very elaborate, mind-boggling, greatly detailed works of art. So far so good as well as healing goes :-) The guy was currently working on a tattoo so he didn't really have time to sit and chat about aftercare with me but the pamphlet they give you tells you everything you need to know and more about keeping the piercing clean~ Looking to get tattoos in the future and will definitely give this place a call once I've settled on what exactly I want to get-- the artwork is all over the walls in the shop and is seriously impeccable!

Needed to pry my septum piercing open so I could flip it up to visit conservative family members in Merced so I stopped in to Main St and Jesse promptly greeted me and took me back. When my nipples got pierced I had to go back and and change my jewelry once, and put the jewelry back in when it had fallen out and they were super quick and didn't charge ! Definitely recommend them for all your piercing needs

Me & my sister went and got pierced by Angel today. I was really impressed with the vibes of the shop, very creative and inspiring. I don't have any tattoos yet but after viewing their artists' albums at the counter, this would definitely be my spot! But back to the piercing, I got my belly button done for a second time and was kind of panicky & Angels mannerism & tone set me at ease as she explained the whole process she was going to do and talked me through the whole way. It didn't hurt as bad as I thought it would. My sister got her nose done & it looks super cute too, this girl knows her stuff! I also asked to see her certifications and she gladly showed me and explained their sterilization process so again I was more at ease... Thank you Angel we'll be back again for more sister piercings! lol

Everything was new and packaged even hadd dates on all. I was unsure because id only been pierced by jess... But i couldn't be happier! ! I love my septum! Angela Changed gloves alot. Was very informative and quick. She gave a aftercare manual and saline even after explaining what to do and not to do with my piercing and told me to stop by if i had any problems.! She was so nice she let me hug her when we were done (i overly excited ha!).I will definitely be going back for another piercing! Or maybe a tattoo?!

My twenty-year old tattoo was looking tired and I asked the artist John to touch it up. I thought it would be a quick fix, but he said he needed to re-do the whole thing or it would not look right. He was not pushy, I agreed, and I am so glad I did! It looks better than it did 20 years ago! (John explained they have better ink now) so my tattoo is vibrant and beautiful. Oh, and everyone in there was very nice - not the 'too cool' vibe I have experienced in other shops. I am even considering a new tattoo and would definitely consult John again.

What impressed me the most during my visit was how clean they are with everything. They make sure that you're comfortable with whatever service you want them to provide and they definitely go through arms length to do everything to your satisfaction! This place is a must!

I was contemplating getting a tattoo while on a road trip. We stopped in Merced for a bite and a look around and popped in to Main Street Tattoo. It was my first time in a tattoo place and it was totally not what I expected! Really cute and non-threatening. I talked to the people there, who were very informative. I did not end up with a tat, but that was due to time constraints and my ambivalence. I would, however, totally recommend this place to anyone wanting a tattoo or a piercing.

So I called today and talk to dude and its his day off and will call me tomorrow to see if he has an opening. I'm piss that I should be the first I paid for my session. If this isn't unprofessional I don't know what is.

I've only come here to get my piercings done and I love it! Jesse is awesome!I first came here to get my cartilage piercing. Then my conch piercing, and a week later my navel piercing. Jesse was very nice every time and informed me very clearly of what to do in order to clean it. He told me if I needed, I can always come in and ask him to change my jewelry for me. I haven't gone in for that yet but I know if I needed to I can count on Jesse!He also helps people change jewelry for free even if they didn't get it pierced by him! Such a nice guy!It's also super easy to contact him via facebook. If I have any questions I just post it and he replies whenever he has time.My friend got her tattoos done here, as well. She loves them!

Best place to get a piercing in Merced. And any kind of piercing. Ask for Jesse! Prices are very reasonable as well. I got my lip and cartilage piercing from Main St Tattoo's by Jesse. They use all new, clean and sterilized needles and such. Jesse knows a lot about piercings, how to take care, what not to do, etc. He makes sure you're happy and everything is okay with your new piercing as you walk out of that shop or even weeks later. Not sure about the tattoos but I saw their art in front of the shop and all the tattoo artists seem very talented. They're super chill, too. Don't be intimidated as you walk through the doors! They are very nice people. They do a lot of community stuff as well. They participated in the Art Hop and had local bands come and play in their shop. They also hold their own events as well to bring the community together with live music, raffle drawings, etc.Come by if you ever need a piercing or a tattoo.
