Not only did the person I spoke to about the piercing lie about the price of the piercing I wanted to receive (it was 10 dollars more expensive), some of the artwork within the shop and tattoos within artist's portfolios are some of the worst I have ever seen in my years of obtaining body modifications. I pity those to which some of those tattoo's were performed on knowing they have to live the rest of their lives with baby crayon scribbles. Furthermore, and call me nit picky, when inquiring about my philtrum piercing the owner kept correcting me (wrongly) that it is called a medusa. Considering I was using the proper biological terminology, this was not only annoying but led me to believe the people working at the shop knew nothing of the piercing I wanted. Looking at the aftercare sheet, a section was called something along the lines of "Labret Aftercare" or "Labret Piercing." The Labret refers to the specific type of jewelry placed within, typically, a LIP piercing or PHILTRUM. A lip piercing is not the same thing as a Labret, nor does one get their Labret pierced. Again, this led me to believe the people at the shop did not know what they were doing. The shop looked a mess and was very unprofessional. Things generally looked dirty, very little artwork by the artists was exhibited on the walls and the ones that were on the walls were done either extremely poorly or while the artist was drunk. Some of the shading here and line work on these sketches alone are enough for a customer to turn right back around and leave. I would love it if this shop was good, Merced needs more tattoo and piercing shops. What Merced does not need is an unprofessional, lazy, and frankly disrespectful environment. Needless to say I went down the street to Main Street Body Piercing & Tattoo and received a masterfully done Philtrum piercing for the price Eagle promised over the phone ($30). Regarding writing this review, I really do not want to give this place a bad score since I would love to see more shops open up. However, if these shops were to open up, they had better have some well performing tattoo artists. Read Less
