I have been tattooed by Santa Cruz tattoo company twice, exclusive ink once, and staircase tattoo twice.... I have to say that this shop blows them out of the water. Miss Iris did an amazing job. Easy to talk to, funny, great personality, clean, and very professional. I was absolutely amazed by the job she did. I had Kenny do a redo/cover-up of an older tattoo done at the iron crown that turned out awful. I spotted Kenny's work on the beach, a vibrant side tattoo on a gentleman running his dog and I asked about it and was recommended to him..  I went in a little gun shy (pun intended) because the previous tattoo from iron was hugely painful, got heavily scabbed, and bled profusely. After speaking with Kenny, I made an appointment and came in about a week afterwards. I told him he could have artistic freedom to fix and make my old tattoo better/gone whatever! He drew on me with sharpies blending the colors to show me what the final product would look like.. It was great - so I told him he could proceed with the ink.. The tattoo process was quick, he made me comfortable, he was very light handed; playing attention when he'd hit a sensitive area, giving it a brief pause. This place is clean got a few re peircings here,Got a tattoo from one of the girls there and once it healed it all blended and it totally looks like shit. I'm so disappointed because what she drew was great but on me its all uneven,  ears and tusks arnt the same size it's pretty small and took about 2 1/2 hours . I won't go here again but now I have to get it retouched but I've been scared to see if it can be because it's so blended together :/ I would say stick with the big man here if ur going to get tattoos and the lady who does nose piercings other the. So it seems that most or all of the reviews for this place are very good....i wish i could give a good one. i barely even do reviews but im so pissed... so, ive gotten service one other time here. i got my nose pierced by penelope. it was all fine. no problem... so i figured, why not try a tattoo with them. i walked in and wanted a detailed piece but it was too short notice to get the same day (which i completely understood), so i decided to get a tiny symbol... i asked for an ankh on my finger. Iris stated that it may or may not stay on my skin as tattoos dont always stay on the hands... i understood and we proceeded. the tattoo was literally two small lines and a loop. she charged $70. the tatt is half of an inch long... its like, i understand its a shop and they can charge what they want buuuuut that was a dick move. what makes u think ill return when u overcharge like that.....and then on top of that....my tattoo is fully healed and looks like shit, it stayed on my skin but the lining was so bad.. and u have nerve to charge that much like your work is top notch lmao. i thought it was from other pics i saw but guess not. i dont know what happened here.... i took my loss and paid her but ill never step foot in there again. sucks. I'm absolutely in LOVE with my new tattoo! I'm one of those annoyingly detailed OCD types..... I was so worried I was trying to pack 10lbs of shit into a 5lb bag.... I wanted to make sure the "look in her eyes" was captured. Worried about the hands (I've seen some alien lookin mitts) stressed about the color...... All for no reason. This piece is amazing. I have wanted it ever since I was young and first wanted a tattoo (this is now my 9th) and just haven't gone for it because I didn't want something flat. I wanted an amazing piece of art. And I got it. Kenny let me take breaks when I needed it... Didn't mind my fidgeting (it's hard to sit still in general.... But when you have no ass to speak of it's doubly hard) I'm so proud and happy and amazed and just in love with my new addition. Everyone was totally awesome. From the gals at the shop the day I came in for an appointment.  My idea (and love of Disney) had been kinda "pooh-poohed" by other artists.... And I came in to this shop because Kenny has done three of my other tattoos and I felt comfortable.... I started with "I know this seems lame... But I want the queen from Snow White framed out in an oval 'mirror'..." And the first thing they said after that "oh that's not lame at all!" I know it's not everyone's style. I went for a septum peircing and I love it! Penelope was so nice and fun. I was quite nervous coming in and she had such hospitality I felt like we had been good friends for years! She laid everythung out still in packaging and explained everything so well. When it came down to the actual peircing she was so caring. She explained the process and aftercare. While there with a friend I observed the artist not following some very basic health procedures. He started late, didn't use gloves while opening the needles and assembling the guns, ate food at his station, didn't wash his hands. The most disturbing was rinsing the needle over the garbage can and then spitting over it. I don't think I've ever seen anything so unsanitary! Read Less
