Not sure why it's taken me four years to write this review but here it is better late than never. I got my first tattoo here in 2010 by some guy who was missing a front tooth and apparently just got out of jail; who knows why he was even employed here. Made me pay beforehand claimed how light handed he was so it made me feel a little more at ease. All I wanted was a simple four word quote on my side ... You must be pretty terrible to manage to give me a crooked tattoo.. DO NOT GO HERE!! Came to this place last night for my third tattoo, had the 'tattoo artist' JUAN AGUILAR and he fucked up my tattoo! All I wanted was a simple arrow on my wrist. The sketch he drew looked good. Inbetween the sketch and the actual tattooing, i don't know what the fuck happened but my tattoo looks like a 5th grader drew it! He continued to tell me it was because he had broken the skin with the needle and once the swelling goes down, it'll look great, but if i'm still not happy with it i can come back in a few days and have him 'fix it' for free. I went to a different tattoo place today for another opinion and the guy said whoever did my tattoo didn't know what he was doing. He also informed me that since Juan went over my tattoo so many times with black ink it's gonna be a pain in the ass to get it removed. So my advice is DO NOT GO HERE or anywhere in hollywood for a tattoo. I'd give it zero stars if that was possible! Read Less

Had a cartilage piercing done elsewhere that started acting up because the stud was too long, and I accidentally snagged it.  My ear was swollen and throbbing, so I went to Zebra to get them to take a look.  They switched out my stud for something shorter.  I'm a scaredy cat, so I was whining the whole time, but they were very professional, calmed me down, and in the end it was painless. NEVER i repeat NEVER, get your tattoo done here. 13 days ago i got a tattoo on my wrist at this shop, The "artist" that did my tattoo made it crooked as hell. 13 days later, I'm still in so much pain and its still scabbed! it looks more like an open wound then a tattoo. This isn't my first tattoo it shouldn't take more then 13 days to heel.. not even that if I'm gonna pay for a tattoo i want it too actually look like a tattoo then a scar. And look like it was done professionally, looks worse then a basement tatt. Everyone that takes a look at my tattoo asks me if i was trying to scar myself. its pretty fucking ridiculous, the fact that something like this was done from a shop! i went in my 7th day because it looked outrageous and wasn't heeling i told them i was using A&D as i was told too.. the "artist" starts to contradict himself and say your not supposed to use A&D.. even though, he told me i am and it says it on the business card.. and i used it on every other tattoo i have. Tells me to come back the 10th day, so i came back today the 13th day, and he still doesn't wanna help me.. he starts telling me it still needs to heel.. AHAH no he doesn't know what hes talking about, its not even about healing, the tattoo is just scar tissue.. he just doesn't wanna deal with my tattoo that he fucked up SO bad on. A tattoo shouldn't take more then 7 days to heel.  if he was a tattoo artist he would wanna fix his art. aha fuck this place. trust me you dont wanna go here, and if you do and they fuck you up like they did to me with my tatt they will not i repeat WILL NOT wanna fix it or anything, they will strictly laugh in your face. Three weeks ago I went to this place hollywood zebra people told me it was a good place to get tattos wen I I was gaething two rose tatto on my side arm the person that was doing the tatto took 4 hours on two unfinish rose plus the tatto got so infected thatblood started to come out and puss pictures will be added shortly like I was saying I contact the manager of the shop he said he would get in contact with me never did I was trying to get my money back for the damage tattoo they did on my arm plus it was never finish plus my tattoo didnt come out righr at all most of the ink came off and the manager says he can do nothing at all wen I paid for a full tattoo now I cant even get another tattoo in the same place my arm is scared  no one goo to this shop they will take your money even if the work is not finish wrong place to go too I didnt wana put a star for this place indor place I go does better work then these people at zebra tatto shop and its a shop Read Less

Krakr gave me a GREAT back tattoo yesterday! I flew into town to see RUSH inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and wanted to get a tattoo to commemorate the event. After telling Krakr my story he was visibly excited to do something that was special to me. After spending an hour drawing it up he spent another 4-5 hours applying it. Probably the best place in Hollywood to get ink. Came in here last night with my best friend as he wanted to get two new tatts. Oscar helped us, gave my friend a great discount and gave him exactly what he wanted. My friend was so happy with his new ink and Oscar is a very talented artist and friendly as well, joking with us and asking my friend how he was doing every now and then. Might be fine for tattoos, but not piercings. Went in because I had new piercings and needed my CBR taken out. Their piercer wasn't there, so one of the other employees said they could switch it out. Ok, fine, she had a lot of piercings, so I assumed she knew what she was doing. Wrong. Sold me some chintzy earrings that irritated my ear due to the crap quality of metal, of which I was not informed, even after saying it was my first piercing, so I'm not an expert. She also suggested H2Ocean, which just made it worse... What a waste of time and money. If you need anything pertaining to piercings, go to The Body Electric. Yeah, no.I came by looking for a piece of jewelry for my belly button. The girl that helped me was kind of bitchy and didn't know shit about the jewelry like what type of metal it was made of.Not only was there a lack of customer service skills, but the selection of jewelry sucked too. Some of the bars were descent but the jewelry with the dangling pieces looked really cheap and not well made. Why bother stocking that? I've always held a loving admiration toward tattoos. In their purest form, tattoos can be meaningful, beautiful, and a sincere sign of dedication to something within you brought out and made permanent. After experiencing a number of life-changing events, including a serious break up, living in Europe for four months, and having grown an incredible amount, I finally took the plunge two years ago and got my very first body decoration: a spectacular, colorful phoenix on the upper right part of my back. Finding a great tattoo artist is like finding a great dentist or gynocologist . You want someone talented, experienced, and gentle. Think "Ideal Virginity Loss Partner." I was referred to Miguel by my old coworker, for whom Miguel had done a number of pieces. I checked out his portfolio (top notch), brought in my design, and saw him re-draw the detailed piece on his own before talking over with me what exactly I was going to get and where exactly I was going to get it. He actually cares about tattoos like a painter caring about every stroke. And I don't mean those crazy modern artists who paint like kindergartners, but more like Monet or Picasso. The 3 hour long process was painful, not gonna lie. My body was screaming for help, my nerves were on edge, and I bled a bucket. I pretty much got a preview of going into labor.  But Miguel was patient with me when I wanted to stop and get a drink of water and calmed me down along with my two best friends whose hands I dug my nails into.This past Saturday my best friend and I came in to get matching banana tattoos on our hips. Her name is Anna too, and after years of being called Anna Bananas, we decided to bond over it. 40 minutes very painful minutes later, we each sported a yellow little fruit. I love Miguel for his talent and his patience. I love Dani the piercer for her out going personality and excitement for decorating the body. I love the zebra print decor of the store. Everything about this tattoo parlour is comfortable and feels as homey as a place with needles is going to get.
