If I could give a million stars I would. Let me start with how I ended up here. I went to a different tattoo shop in a different area but was instantly intimidated. So I ended up researching tattoo shops in my neighborhood close to home. Well I find Hearts on Fire with amazing reviews and walk in for a consultation. My sister and I talk to Krissy who is super chill and just gave me amazing vibes. We told her what we wanted and she was more than happy to help us. She was so reassuring and from someone getting their first tattoo this was a plus! We schedule our appointment, gave deposits and she asked us to text her our pictures for reference. The day of the tattooing comes and honestly she was again so reassuring (I think she sensed me freaking out) and she showed us every step to make sure we know the environment and tools were sterile. I found this spot on Yelp. My friend and I wanted matching tattoos. The owner was really quick to respond to the question I posted about shop minimums so that was a good sign. Krissy scheduled our appointments and had our designs drawn out before we arrived. The shop has a very easy-going, mellow vibe. Dave knocked out both of our tattoos in about 40 mins. I had an idea to get a California related tattoo on the inner part of my upper arm. My friend had been here before and recommended it, I was still on the fence about getting one that day, so I figured I would tag along 'just to see'. They ended up drawing it out with some picture references I got from the internet in about 30 minutes. They couldn't have done a better job. I had a quail feather crossed with a poppy flower, exactly how I wanted it. It was simple, with the right amount of detail. The whole process took about 3 hours, it was maybe slightly bigger than a business card, and it cost less than $200. I recently came in to hearts on fire by a friends recommendation for a sleeve... I was looking for something 3-D and colorful and I heard they have the best work here. Art is that I'm it was Chrissy she took the time to talk to me about what my interests, The artist was super friendly, very clean environment so that made me feel safe right away, plus the restroom super clean which is a plus, and overall my tattoo came out bad ass. A tiny inconspicuous spot I'd driven past dozens of times is truly the perfect place to get your first (or second or third etc.) tattoo . Not only is the place really cool and cozy but the tattoo artists are incredibly friendly , likable people . Dave did my tat and he's a super chill guy . I got a very simple tattoo done a few days ago and Dave was great with me. I had never gotten a tattoo before and so he explained everything that was happening, when he was cleaning it, when he was going to do a straight line so I could gage the pain, etc. I'm definitely happy with the results because it has sentimental meaning.
