Amazing! The shop owner Mike was great. I walked in and he greeted me. I was waiting for my friend and as soon as she got there we were immediately taken care of. Jordan tattooed my friend and I. She got a small hot pink pumpkin and I got "I love you more" in my husband's writing. It looked so good! He is so talented! I got it on my forearm and the pain level was about 2/3 took what felt like 5 minutes. I will definitely be coming back here for all my future tattoos. They also have flash Friday tattoos every 3rd Friday of the month. Shop minimum is $60 and totally worth it. The shop had a good vibe. I found Lion's Den and Morgan while doing my research for a great tattoo artist and a great tattoo shop.  I have NEVER left a review for anything, but I just had to this time. From the moment I messaged Morgan to request a consultation, to the moment I left after my tattoo was done, she was the sweetest, most awesome, and professional person you could come across! She listened and looked at pictures of ideas that I already had, and gave her expert opinion on things I wasn't sure about. I wanted a jellyfish tattoo for awhile and I had never had a tattoo before. I looked at a lot of artists and visted a few shops.  And then everything changed because I met Morgan for a consultation.  She was so easy to talk to and she took the time to understand what I was hoping for. I had absolutely no doubt that I wanted her to do the tattoo and so I put down my deposit and made an appointment on the spot.Yesterday was my appointment.  Morgan designed exactly what I wanted. It was perfect. Once we decided on the size and placement Morgan got to work. I was expecting terrible pain, but it actually wasn't too bad. Morgan was pretty gentle. She filled in the tattoo with color and did some beautiful shading and detail.I attached a picture of the finished jellyfish so you can see the detail (even some white bubbly dots on the jellyfish head).  It really turned out perfectly.I am so happy and lucky I found Morgan. Lions den is the best place to go for either another tattoo or a new one. It had been a long time since I got a tattoo and I went on friday the 13th. They were so fair with the wait and I respect that very much. They were so so nice and friendly. KMT was the one who did my tattoo on my arm and started my sleeve. I really really love it and I can't wait for more of a part of my sleeve to be done by the Lions den. I've been to alot of tattoos shops looking around and look for a new tattoo artist. The price is fair for whatever tattoo you decide to get draw or even copy. I haven't had a tattoo parlor visit this good for years. Jordan is really talented. I love the decor and it's very clean. The work was also really effective too. Barely hurt, and it's healing really quickly. I wish I had know from my previous tattoos that Vitamin AD ointment (aka diaper rash ointment) is the best aftercare combined with Dr Bronners unscented soap and not Vitamin B ointment with acne wash, which is what I used in the past. The owner of the place really cares about his customers and it shows! I love that you can pay with a credit card too. It's worth the extra fee. And definitely tip your artists, folks! The tattoo is now somewhat famous, as it will be featured in an interview I did with a TV network that airs the show the tattoo art is based off of. Thanks again, guys! My piece came out amazing!!! I'm so happy I ran into this shop on yelp. Alex shakuto was very fast & responsive to all my emails. I didn't have to wait long for a reply! Picking out a tattoo shop is the biggest deal to me. I mean, I'm letting a stranger put something permanent on my body. I trusted all of the five star reviews for LD and I couldn't be happier. They got me schedule the day after I called and had my tattoo done within 10 minutes of laying down. (Granted it was small, but still the fastest tattoo I've ever gotten.) This tattoo was a big deal to me because it was to cover some self harm scars and I couldn't picked a better artist do it. Front desk service was phenomenal and so was my artist. lions den was by far the BEST shop I've gotten ink at. They we're professional, clean, and EVERYONE was fun to talk to. I have been wanting a sunflower tattoo for a while now and I was nervous to get it cause I didn't want just a basic tattoo and I've been to shops who SAY they make original work but they just find stuff from Pinterest and that's just not what I wanted with this. I worked with Alex and he created the most beautiful sunflower and even was able to incorporate my momma'a handwriting into the tattoo in a way that looked so good! I've got two tattoos at Lions Den so far and this one is actually the second, the other one isn't finished yet. Obviously I'm already a repeat customer so that speaks volumes in and of itself. Tony has done both tattoos and they've turned out great! Awesome line work and shading! The whole process was pretty seem less after a minor hiccup through no fault of anyone still employed at the shop. Mike has been a huge help too. I drove by Lions Den one day after work and talked to Chris about getting a crazy big eagle on my shoulder. He was upfront about the time frame, price, and the complex positioning of the piece. He seemed to know what he was doing and looked like he was going to take his time with the tattoo, so I felt comfortable leaving a $50 deposit to get the ball rolling.I showed Chris a picture of the tattoo i wanted, told him where I wanted it, and he pretty much took it from there. The eagle he drew up was amazing, and I just agreed with pretty much every idea he had since everything was coming along flawlessly. Chris pretty much exceeded all my expectations, and the tattoo came out great. Hands down best tattoo artist!The shop is great! Chris reworked a terrible tattoo and in a fraction of the time. I scored a fantastic deal on 9 hours of work through their Winter Special (he did some add-ons for me). Line work was impeccable, color is beautiful, and I couldn't be happier with the results of the rework. They do quick AND quality work. Really hard to find both. Ever since the first time I walked into this shop a few years ago I knew this was it. Atmosphere is clean and inviting. Walk ins always welcomed. Being a veteran tattoo fanatic, I've been to other tattoo shops with same qualifications but the biggest one for me is CUSTOMER SERVICE. And both Mike and Chris surpass every checkbox for this characteristic. Which is why I will always come back! This place is as cool as it gets! Hands down the best tattoo shop in Lemon Grove in my opinion. Now let's get into some details...I came in here the other day to get my wife an "industrial piercing" which was taken care of by Mercedes with the utmost precision. My wife is quite pleased with the piercing and it is healing well. Before my wife was called into a private room to get her piercing I had an opportunity to chill-out in their comfortable lobby for about 5 minutes. During that time I reviewed numerous portfolios while relaxing on one of their comfortable couches. Now let me tell you this, it is not that often that I come across a portfolio that is as impressive as Jerry's. Jerry is one of the talented tattoo artists that works at this fine establishment. I was literally awestruck by the quality of his art that was showcased in his portfolios. After my wife was done with her piercing I approached Jerry to make inquiry regarding a tattoo design that I had been thinking about for a couple years now. Jerry was very receptive and spent a considerable amount of his free time to go over several tattoo design concepts with me. After my conversation with Jerry, I requested an appointment to see him the following week to finally bring my decade-long vision into fruition. At the time of scheduling the appointment I was concerned about the actual date of said appointment because it did not coincide with my window of opportunity in relation to my work/leave schedule but that was no problem at all for Jerry and the owner of the shop Mike. Those two gentlemen were kind enough to come in on their day off and open the shop to work on and complete the outline and shading of my back piece which took approximately 7 hours.Jerry is a good man, I felt very comfortable with him the entire time I was there. We had an open dialog in concerns with what I wanted, he listened carefully and exceeded my expectations. Jerry is extremely kind and respectfulI, I have never met a tattoo artist with such a genuinely nice demeanor in my life. Just looking at the tattoo right now a person could easily think it was complete, that is how good it looks but I will be returning soon to add color to this tattoo in a separate session, I will keep you all updated on the progression and process as it continues. I am also going to make an appointment for my wife to get her next tattoo here by Jerry as well.I highly recommend that anyone looking for quality tattoo come visit this shop. Came in to get a consult and ended up getting my tattoo right away. Chris was my artist and let me tell you, he is AMAZING. he helped me finalize the design I wanted and then we got started! He explained everything he was during the tattoo which helped a lot in getting through the pain. The shop itself is nice and clean, there isn't really parking but I just parked at the place next door. they charge $125 an hour but they don't stall and try to take their sweet as time like some shops. From the first phone call, I knew that I wouldn't regret it. I was in town from Texas visiting my friend and we wanted to get tattoos. We had stopped by and seen this shop so I called to see if they allowed walk ins. They did, and let me know they had time in the early afternoon. The gentleman on the phone was very courteous and informative as to how they did pricing as well as how to get to the shop.We showed up and were greeted by 2 guys 1 was the guy who answered the phone (whom I later found out 1 was the owner of the shop) he set us up with what we wanted and let us know our tattoo artist would be there shortly. We talked and hung out while we waited. The atmosphere was cool. Good music to listen to, and all the guys were willing to chit chat while we waited for Jerry to set up his work station. Jerry was so down to earth. He worked fast and efficiently but he paid so much attention to detail to make sure our tattoos were exactly what we wanted. He is very talented as an artist. With 10 years under his belt I felt at ease getting something permanent from him. He's witty and definitely made me feel comfortable getting tattooed from him. We weren't given crap for getting a smaller sized tattoo. Instead of going to a fancy dinner for our anniversary, my boyfriend and I decided to get tattoos! Now, I know what you're thinking, definitely not referring to matching ones or anything, just pieces that we really wanted to get. It was a first for both of us, so finding a place can be rather difficult, of course I went to my trusty Yelp app! I looked for places near where we live, and there were so many! I came across Lion's Den Tattoo, it was five stars which is a plus! I literally went through every review and decided it was the place we would go! I checked them out on Facebook as well! Can never be too sure ;) I called and talked to Mike to schedule a consultation, he owns the shop, and he was super nice and told us we could come in the next day! We met with him and gave him some reference pictures for Jerry, our tattoo artist! We talked about sizing, placement, signed some forms, made the appointment, and put a deposit down! Here we are today, one week later with super awesome tattoos! Jerry was a great artist, he listened to what we wanted, answered all our questions, and helped us understand what he was doing! He's a super cool dude! The whole place is filled with beautiful artwork, everything is clean and sanitary, it was definitely a comfortable environment! I had such a great experience at Lions Den Tattoo getting my breast cancer butterfly tattoo in honor of my mother's triumph over breast cancer that I brought in both my sisters to have matching tattoos done by the same artist. The tattoos all came out beautiful! One sister changed it up a little bit to make it a cover up piece on her back, gorgeous!My mom has never been inside a tattoo shop but she wanted to join us for the experience!!! Extremely pleased with my tattoo that I had done today. My artist was Jay and he did an amazing job, my tattoo turned out perfect. The shop has a great vibe, everyone was very friendly and welcoming.
