I honestly couldn't imagine going anywhere else! I just got my second tattoo from James last night. Obviously the art work is amazing but not only that, the atmosphere in the shop is super clean and comfortable. I am a nervous wreck and my pain tolerance is at an all time low. I took my 9 year old daughter here to get her ears pierced instead of the mall because I wanted her to have a more "organic" experience minus the piercing gun. James was awesome! He made my daughter (who was nervous) feel really comfortable. He was friendly, professional and patient. The shop (including bathroom) was clean and the other guys in the shop were friendly and welcoming as well. They require picture i.d. for kids, plus birth certificate and I believe I paid around $60 (don't forget to TIP!✋) which included the cutest little swarovski crystal earrings. My husband and huge Legend of Zelda fans and have been wanting to get a couple of LoZ related symbols tattooed on our ring fingers. We had previously lived in a small town in Texas and while searching there and surrounding areas we couldn't find a artist we trusted to do the watercolor look we wanted behind the main design. Fast forward a few years later and one move back to the AV and we found James at AV Ink! We spent a few days researching local artists, looking at Instagram profiles and website portfolios and decided to go to James because he was one of the only people who had previous watercolor work experience and the rest of his art just really stood out from everything else we looked at. When we walked in he greeted us warmly and immediately started talking to us about what we wanted and all that it entailed. He made sure we understood that hand tattoos can fade because of the regeneration of hand and finger tissue but he also said that any touch ups needed in the future due to that would be an included service. He also told us he was booked until November but since my husband has time off from his construction job he wanted to get us in during that time so the tattoo could heal properly and he squeezed us in at the end of one of his days. Overall not only was he professional but he was so mindful of our daily lives and amazingly accommodating. During our appointment he make sure his work area was meticulously clean and sterile. For my design he freehanded the drawing a few times with a pen on my finger before getting to work. During the process he made sure I was doing okay and did the same for my husband. And after it was all done he went through after care thoroughly. I highly recommend James for any of your tattoo desires! Hell, I recommend everyone at AV Ink! Cleanest, friendliest and most professional tattoo studio I've been to. They managed to fit three small walk in tattoos in an hour before closing, staying open late for us and never once made us feel rushed or like we were a burden. They were very honest with the price and size. My artist, who is also the piercer, was an absolute perfectionist and I LOVE that. He was very respectful of my design and made it even better than I imagined. And such light handed!!! My tattoo was placed on my wrist, vertically and I hardly felt it. I had been wanting a specific tattoo for a while. I did not have any idea who to trust to put their art on my skin. I looked at yelp reviews and facebook pages of different shops and artists around the AV. After almost a year of looking I went into AV Ink and asked James for an appointment. He came out and met me and got a general idea of what I wanted. This is not my first tattoo, but it had been a while. James made me feel great about my decision and comfortable in my choice.
