Shout out to the lady piercer I forgot her name :( I got my septum pierced with her the other day and she made me feel so comfortable because I was really scared.. another piercer before tried to pierce through my cartilage but this one she found the sweet spot and my eyes didn't even water! I can't say enough good things about Mike and his crew. I have had the good fortune to have been tattooed here a few times - always with excellent results- & recently brought my mom in for her first tattoo, she's 77.  Bobby, the artist who helped us, was so patient, accommodating & funny - he made my mom feel incredibly comfortable. There was zero of the "tattitude" that you'll find in some of the other shops when you just want something small. Ew the people here are legit so rude! Me and my friend walked in... as per my phone call earlier this afternoon when I called to ask about walk ins and if it's okay I came at 7, to which she said "yes there are 3 artists so just come in" - she was actually super nice. We stroll in, 7:08, asking if they are able to do a 3 inch tattoo, a two word phrase, in a "type writer or script type font", which they can, then I requested if they had a book we could look at with different writing/fonts... response I get "it's a typewriter font you can just google it" "I can freehand script" accompanied with a "wtf" face... they are super unprofessional and just rude! And best part the other beard guy throws a pencil from the other side of the counter at me?! And honestly their work looks like it would be pretty nice, but I would never come here because of their service. Read Less

As im completely used to 45 flat for any piercing ive gotten professional so thank you for that and your amazing personality. Everything ran by smoothly minus my scar tissue from a pervious piercing and the second studd being a butt to get in. This is where I got my first tattoo and honestly I'm not going back. Not because the tattoo was messed up or anything. It was beautifully done and healed amazing. The reason why I'm leaving this review is of how rudely I was treated over the phone. I called to ask if they are offering Friday the 13th deals today but I couldn't even finish my sentence. I got to "hi, I wondering if you guys are doing-" and got rudely and abruptly interrupted with a "no, we're not but Chula Vista is, bye." No shop name recommended he just wanted me off the line. I was going to go to them for another piece but honestly I'm not going to bother with people like that working there. I visited San Diego a few years ago and ended up stopping in with my sister to meet Mike. She had had several tattoos (about 20 maybe) done by him back in the 90's when she was in the Navy. My goal was to get a cool permanent souvenir from a guy my sister said was the best. I ended up getting to know an amazing man who has lived an incredible life. I wish I lived closer instead of in Kansas City so I could become a frequent customer. But next summer I'm making it a point to visit and add to my souvenir collection. Worst service!! My mom came in on Thursday to make an appointment for Sunday, and was told she couldn't make an appointment because they're slow on Sundays anyway then when we come in on Sunday, they're in the middle of a big tattoo and they tell us to call back in a couple hours. I walked in one day with a very vague idea of a cover-up tattoo, and Crow helped me.  I looked through his work and was very impressed, so I agreed to have him draw up the idea.  He asked when I was looking to have it done, and I replied that I would like it done sooner rather than later.He was able to draw up the design the next day, and the day after, he was putting ink to skin!He was very comforting, since this was my first time getting tattooed in a sensitive area, and I was a bit intimidated by the size of the piece.He worked like lightning, and it was completely done in less than 2 hours!  I was thrilled with how it turned out, and have scheduled my next tattoo with him.  I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a great tattoo done by a quick, talented artist. I went here with my brother when he was getting his chest piece done. Laura does great work. Fast and good pricing. She is friendly and professional. I had jewelry replaced. I went back the second time to do it again. Matt wasn't there and David did it. The jewelry came out and was lost. It was a Sunday so I paid to have my old jewelry put back in I called the shop and left a VM and got a recipe of my installment of my old jewelry. I came by the shop on Monday with my 2 year old and was told she was too young to be there and needed to come back with out her I was fine with that. So, I came back Thursday. I explained again my situation from Monday and instantaneously Matt goes into defense mode about he wasn't aware I called and what was I trying to prove by bringing in documents from other tattoo shops. I choose to go there and get there service there. I was so confused because none of that really mattered because all I wanted was for him to reinstall the  jewelry that I paid for wasn't installed correctly replaced but he insisted on charging me 5 dollars and then not installing it either. Finally after I showed him on my phone my log of the call log from date and time I called her got so pissed he jumped up pointing and cursing me about it was in his business and he did not appreciate me questioning him. Fantastic Service from all the artist we encountered!!!My man and I recently got tattoos at Flesh and both agree that this has been by far the best shop as far as service and artistry goes. We've been to many shops and have numerous tats. It was rare to find a shop in business so long with the same owners, but based on all the positive reviews it's clear to see why. Typically when we walk into a place, everyone is always too busy (or act like they are too busy) to acknowledge people walking in, not here, everyone was approachable and answered all our questions. Laura did my tat and Crow worked on my man, we both were treated phenomenal and are super satisfied with their work. I called this shop after having my dermal ripped out by a piercer at another shop. I explained briefly over the phone what happened and asked some questions and John told me he would get a better idea by actually seeing what happened and said it would be best if I came in.I walked into the shop and was greeted by John and he asked me if i was the one who called. I said yes and he introduced me to his boss Mike. They were both two very friendly and laid back guys. Not only that but they were extremely professional and experienced piercers.He pulled up a chair for me and I vented to Mike about my tragic story of what happened to me at another shop. He totally understood me and knew exactly how I felt. He said he would try and see if he could get the dermal back in but he wasn't going to force anything. We proceeded to the next room where i handed him my dermal and Mike and John took time and effort trying to get this dermal back in. This was a two man operation but I was comfortable and felt safe. This man had over 30 years of piercing experience and he knew what he was doing. He found the pocket where the anchor was and it was in! I was so relieved and happy to have this dermal back in. They gave me some piercing aftercare medicated swabs, bandaids and informed me of all the details of what to do and how to take care of the piercing properly. Not only did they fix what had happened to me but they were very kind and understanding of my situation. They were supportive and empathetic and genuinely cared. They really made my day. They told me if I had any other problems I can come back anytime. I will ONLY come here from now on because I know I will be in trusted hands and I will be treated with kindness and valued as a customer!I also checked out their belly button rings and they had a very nice selection. Love it here! It was my first time in the shop. When you walk in, you notice it's incredibly clean and has a good atmosphere. Mike the owner was there and I showed him what I wanted and he asked if I didn't mind waiting for a few minutes to get settled with a couple guys that were there.Only waited about 15/20 minutes the the most and he called me over, printed my design and immediately started to a sketch and we made a few modifications and we were ready to start inking. He took his time setting up and getting things ready before he had me come in his room. After a couple placement modifications , we decided to go with my left shoulder. He started and I actually fell asleep for a little bit. He has an awesome beside manner and talks to you! I was not uncomfortable once. I plan on going back when it heals completely. I really like this place, I've been back 4 times so far.I moved a good distance away and was in the mood for another tattoo.  I considered going back to FSG but wanted to try a place closer- {Avalon}- I wanted the "Don't tread on me" Flag with the rattlesnake.I arrived at the tattoo shop and showed them what I wanted- I have no problem letting the artist putting his own twist on a tattoo- I always figure it will turn out better if you let him get creative.  Well they turned my drawing over to some dude who barely had a portfolio and he just seemed like a goober.  I said I had to go to the bathroom and just left- I got in my car and felt bad and I was driving now- I looked up and on the bumper of the car in front of me has a sticker that said (FSG) on it- it was a sign.We drove the extra distance and got a really nice tattoo.  Hooyah FSG.
