This is a very late review, as I got my tattoo here almost a year ago lol! I came in for a walk in knowing exactly what I wanted and luckily they weren't that busy and Alex got me in right away. He was super nice and helpful and drew up my tattoo exactly how I wanted it. I have 3 tattoos now and this one is by far my favorite. I brought in a copy of what I wanted my tattoo to look like and Alex made it look like he just printed it onto my skin. Amazing work! Only took like 30 minutes too. I'm a graphic designer, so it was very important to me to go to a great artist for my first tattoo. After seeing Alex Coulter's amazing work on Instagram, I knew it was time to go in - and he completely knocked it out of the park! I gave him a vague idea of what I wanted, and he had the sketch ready to go when I walked in. I was super nervous since it was my first tattoo, but Alex was super nice and reassuring, and I ended up having the greatest experience. Just walking in you can tell this place is on a whole other level. I wouldn't call it a tattoo shop but more of a mans beauty shop. I had the pleasure of Bryan doing a very important piece to me yesterday. It was  tribal wolf my 12 year old drew so it had to be perfect and man did he kill it. This piece came out identical to the drawing plus he added some extra tribal around it. I love this tattoo shop! I followed Hek and The Tattoo Gallery on Instagram before coming in to get a feel for the shop and artists.  Everyone is very welcoming, I walked in for a consultation with Hek for a upper inner arm watercolor tattoo. Hek was very kind and helpful. I booked my appointment, we went over the specifics of my tattoo again over email before my appointment. When I went in for my tattoo they were very thorough and gave me a choice of fonts, and Hek made sure we were both happy with the placement. I love my tattoo, I get so many compliments and I always recommend The Tattoo Gallery and Hek and even though I haven't had any tattoos done by the other artists I always recommend them too because honestly I would trust any of them to do a great tattoo. Where is the 10 star rating?Yesterday, I got my 5th tattoo from Brian, (he has done 2 of the 5). His badass artwork is absolutely the best! Not to mention, he is just a rad human! He is personal, ethical, & doesn't smell like cigarettes or booze.And I met Hek at an HB community event and he turned me on to Brian because his style was more up my alley. What other tattoo artist would turn down work because their style wasn't the best fit. HEK for President, that's who!The shop and bathroom is also super clean, (I've seen many sketchy shops in my travels), I could have kidney transplant there. All the other guys are also super cool. I have thought of reviving my 1997 panther after talking to a good customer/friend he recommends "Jasin".  Today, I walked in for a consul I was delightfully surprised.   This is the best looking and the cleanest I have ever seen. I LOVE HEK. Like seriously, love the guy. Spent less than 30 mins with him but I'm sure he's the one haha He does awesome, clean work and has such a gentle hand!! My sister and I walked in wanting matching tattoos after having a horrible experience down the street (HB Tattoo) and were so pleasantly surprised to see all of these cool dudes!! The shop is super clean and well organized, smells nice and sterile (always a good sign) and they were willing to take 2 walk ins around 12:45! Hek is AWESOME with line work! I just got a tattooed here by Brian! A lot of people at work recommended this place so I gave it a shot! I hear a lot of people request  Hec as their artist so I'm sure he's great too. I personally had Brian and he did an amazing job. He did a great job on my tattoo and it was done in such a short time. Embarrassed to say, I fucked up the date I was getting in Roman numerals but he fixed it the next day for me and didn't charge me. (It was my fault) He's super reasonable in terms of pricing and everything over all. He also gave me a beer when I got there to ease the anxiety lol my tattoo looks awesome! If/when I decide to get another tattoo Im definitely going to him. In addition, I made an apt the day of, was super late and he still took care of me with a smile. Great customer service as well. I came to tattoo gallery with two of my good friends yesterday and I already had an idea of what I wanted when I got there. Brian greeted us and was super friendly throughout. This being my first tattoo I was very nervous and intimidated. When I say nervous.... my ass was sweating leaving sweat marks on the seat. LOL.  Even with my indecisiveness, i found him to be very patient and talked me through the process and even asked me a few times to make sure I was 100% sure and comfortable with the placement. I got roman numeral date ( personal and special date) on my forearm and it was literally painless. I'd definitely come back if I ever want a second tattoo, it came out perfectly the way I envisioned. I was so happy that I jumped up and gave him a hug after he was done. Walked in to the shop today cause a friend was getting a tattoo and I was just seeing if they had a opening to get my tattoo done. It was the one year anniversary of my dads passing and I thought it was the perfect moment to get my tattoo. Brian showed up to the shop 20 minutes later took a look at what I wanted and re drew it and made it honestly better than the picture I showed him .. I waited until age 50 to get a tattoo. There was never anything I wanted permanently on my body. Being diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time I was ready. Hek was so compassionate as I described my vision of a Hummingbird holding a Pink Ribbon in its beak. He merged his creative talent with my vision and gave me the most beautiful tattoo. Dan the man is the only person to tattoo me since the day I walked into his shop a couple years ago. I didn't know the guy.. Hadn't seen any of his work either. When I showed him the picture of my mom I saw a confidence in his eyes that sold me. Within hours he had it drawn up and started it the same night. After that portrait I knew he was my guy! He also did my family flower arm, my Lucille Ball micro tattoo and just last week an arm band representing my siblings. I will never go to anyone else again! Thanks again Dan! This review is long over due, I've been coming to see Dan for several years now and currently have 3 tattoos I treasure and cherish. I feel so grateful to have found this shop because the quality, care, and honest artists make it very unique and respected. From the start Dan has always been excellent at communication and honesty on what he is doing but also how things work. He was able to tell me what worked and did not work for my skin tone and placements. I feel this is incredibly important as some artists will have little regard to you specifically and will tattoo anywhere, with any color. I have very light, sensitive skin so he's always given his best advice with taking longer breaks in between sessions and has always been fantastic in not overworking the tattoo. My first two tattoos were medium in size and feature artwork by an anime style artist. he was able to cleanly do the artwork with impeccable line work and vivid color.  My first tattoo I unknowingly picked a VERY sensitive area, my lower right hip. He advised me how to control my breathing and would walk me through before attempting certain areas as it was important I stayed still. I can handle a lot pain but I know certain areas had to be a challenge for him. Even through that all of line work was and is perfect! You can view the photos below for reference. The one with the cat is the tattoo I'm referring. Second tattoo was another piece by the same artist, again he was able to recreate it and give me EXACTLY what I had wanted and expected. The artist herself has seen my pieces and was thrilled so that was definitely reassurance on how well they turned out. My third tattoo is by far the most beautiful piece I have and was definitely a challenge for Dan. The painting we recreated is a piece by Camilla d' errico. She has a very soft approach on her paintings with minimal to no outlining. It was crucial that if I did this, it would mimic this soft approach and would really give this painting the beauty and respect it needed. Dan was able to completely recreate this in layers and rather than outlining it he developed his own approach to mimic her work. To this day I receive endless comments, questions and admiration for this piece. I truly believe that he is one of the few artists in the world that could have accomplished this. Not only is it beautiful, it will last and continue to be admired! I'd also like to note the cleanliness of this shop and its stations is absolutely IMPECCABLE. this is absolutely crucial as I've heard so many horror stories from other friends at other shops. Even the bathroom is remodeled and clean. Clean needles and equipment are always laid out and prepared in front of me ensuring that I know these are new, sterile tools. Dan has taken this very serious from the beginning and has even launched his own company "rinse cup" to eliminate and prevent the contamination of accidental mishaps with the rinse cup used during your session. If that doesn't prove that you are truly in great hands for cleanliness and safety, I don't know what will! Read Less

Tattoo gallery hosts some of the best artista in OC. Dan and Brian have been tattooing for years in california and also Hawaii. Jasin also works with them and he is pretty amazing as well..
