I got a tattoo from Omar today...I had some sparrows on my chest outlined about 12 years ago and finally wanted to get them colored in. Naturally, I started looking up colors on the internet and found some I liked. I'm drawn to more traditional nautical designs. I showed Omar the picture and his talent completely exceeded my expectations. His shop is cozy and he's a great host; definitely not douchey or intimidating like the feel of larger shops where they barely noticed that you walked in.  This guy is the real deal.  He has a soft hand so I barely felt any pain. I got two tattoos from Matt and they turned out great! One of the tattoos was a cover up of an old one and he took his time drawing the design directly on my skin to make sure that it was perfect. The other tattoo had script and it came out really clean. This was the first time I've been to this shop and it was a great experience - they are very friendly and welcoming here and one of the best shops I've been to. I decided to come here because my initial tattoo artist forgot we had an appointment today. Since I was determined to get tattooed, we ended up coming here and it turned out better then planned. This is such BS.....I had an appt for a week,was told to come in 1pm the 26th,here I am in the parking lot at 1:40 after the other gentleman was nice enough to page George(my appt was w him)and was told he can't come in today!! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL...he wasn't even going to inform me,he just kept me there waiting.Extremely rude.This place was recommended by a friend....neither one of us or our friends will come back.Atleast acknowledging me and asking to reschedule would of been the people's thing to do Read Less

Friday the 13th.Apparently if you're buddies with one of the artist you can get one whenever you want. Does not matter what the sizes or colored or black and white. It does not even have to be on a Flash sheet. There were 3 artist last night, but only 2 were doing flash sheet and one was doing whatever his buddies wanted. My group knew going in we where going to be waiting a while. But we signed in around 4pm and still have the artists only do about 10 people. 930pm hit and we bailed. We were not going to wait until 12-1am to get a tattoo. I personally would not go back. Read Less

Loved my experience at Shipwrecked. My sister and I were able to make an appointment last minute on Saturday for an early Sunday session (via text message - heck yes!)  Super accommodating. Omar, the artist who did our lettering, made it very comfortable and had a great bed-side manner. We couldn't be happier with the work we got done. It looks great. Went to Shipwrecked today for my first tattoo. Omar did an awesome job. Love the work he did. People were warning me how painful it would be. I was screwed over by a tattoo artist last year, and this was a very meaningful tattoo for me. When I saw Omar's work here, I was extremely happy. He was very understanding and helpful. Got my first tattoo here months ago from Machete and my only complaint is I need more. Omar, Jose and Machete have tattooed a bunch of my friends and coworkers and are some of the nicest and talented guys you could get a tattoo from. I went in to this shop because I got a groupon for my birthday. My grandma's death anniversary was coming up, so i decided to get a tattoo in her honor, her name was Rosa so i went in for a rose. I got Omar to tattoo me,  he has amazing work, omg hes so talented. But he sure as hell did not hesitate to let me know how generic my tattoo was. I understand that he has a different sense of humor, but i could tell he didnt want to tattoo me. Im not sure it was me or my tattoo idea or the fact that i had a groupon. I've been getting work done by him for the last 3 years and I am proud to display his work upon me. This guy can do something as simple as a rose and make you want to add a whole garden. The hype is real. Omar is amazing! I had a long sesh with him today/tonight and wow, the work is unparalleled. He did a large watercolor style nature tattoo and used the most beautiful array of colors perfectly. He blended it with another tattoo I already had seamlessly. As someone who has seen a good deal of tattoo work, his talent is epic. He is an artist with a meticulous eye for detail and excellent command of this craft. So glad I stumbled across this shop! I'm a sucker for names and shipwrecked made a lot of sense being on the coast and all haha. I stopped off at a few other shops in HB and along the pch and was either met with super rude artists or ridiculous prices. Walked into Shipwrecked and immediately felt a difference! Omar did some outstanding work on my sleeve, super impressed with the attention to detail, and I love how original the artwork looks and feels. All you need to do is have an idea of what you want, and maybe a couple reference pics...Let Omar do the rest! Can't wait to go back and finish the rest! Overall the shop had a great atmosphere. If I could give 6 stars I would. Omar is an amazing artist. This is my first review but I have gotten four tattoos from Omar. He does great work always answers questions and makes suggestions to make your tattoo better. I gone to other shops and had long waits the artist would take millions of breaks and I would be in a shop for nearly all day. I just got a pretty challenging piece completed by Omar and I literally could not be more excited about it. The tattoo is a quote over a nebula background (very challenging) and Omar blew it out of the water. I had been wanting this design for a long time but was not going to settle until I found the right artist because it is not a common concept. I search high and low and finally picked Omar and I am ecstatic because he was the perfect guy for the job...This tattoo is on my inner bicep and is only my second tattoo but Omar was helpful, informative, patient and (best of all) fun while I was in the chair [all 5 hours of it!]. In fact- the whole shop had a great vibe and the other artists were all fun and friendly too. Shipwrecked Ink will definitely be my studio from now on and I plan to bring my Mom here once we have a better idea of what we want. Definitley Returning for another tattoo.I happen to run into Shipwrecked Ink Studio by checking the reviews on Yelp. Also, finding that they had a deal going for $100 for $150 dollars worth of tattoo work. I went into the shop on a Tuesday. It was a bit quite but good to walk in and get a tattoo right away. I showed George, one of the tattoo artist in the shop what I wanted and he got it done. The tattoo artist were very professional and easy going. I will recommend this tattoo shop to everyone.
