My review is a little late, I got my tattoo by Karel Beck about 4-5 months ago but I just wanted t say how much I love it. I came In last minute maybe an hour before they were closed. I didn't even have an appointment and Karel stayed after business hours tattooed me for two hours. Her work was great it was just what I wanted I couldn't ask for it to be any better and she really took her time because I told her how much I love the little details and fine lines. I had a yearning for some ink therapy after having stressful days of home and work. It's been a while since the last tat & I was inspired, eager & excited. Browsing through social media, & here of course,  stumbled upon Sara with Q tattoo. I reached out and told her what I wanted and she produced my "vision". Uber excited, we set an appt and basically just rolled with it. I think my hubs was more iffy about this than me. "Are u sure?", "do u need lidocaine?", "are you really gonna do this?" - to that I answered without hesitation- Yes. No. Yes. Let's go. The shop is tucked in the corner of Edinger and Newland. The place is clean and everyone was welcoming and easy to talk to. Sara has this great calm personality. This place is fantastic! Very clean and sanitary. I called 20 minutes ahead of time and Sara came in on her day off to do my tattoo and my friend's. She did such an amazing job. She made me feel comfortable with getting my first tattoo. She made small talk and kept me distracted. Aside from her wonderful personality (which I think is pretty important in a tattoo artist) she did a really great job and gave me EXACTLY what I wanted. She was patient with me going through all the fonts to find the perfect one, and made it personalized and gorgeous. It was quick, easy, and honestly painless. I'm so so so happy with this tattoo. I had a wonderful experience at Q Tattoo in Huntington Beach. I went to get a tattoo on my upper arm. The staff was super friendly, especially Sara who was my tattoo artist. I had an idea and she crafted a design that perfectly fit to what I was looking for.On the day of the appointment, Sara was super kind and knowledgeable with my many questions that I had. She made sure that I was comfortable the whole time. She is very low-key, friendly, confident  and is very easy going, which made me feel extremely comfortable.The tattoo is a beautifully shaped 3 piece colored flower lily for my arm. I'm totally in love with the final piece and I have been getting rave comments about her work.  The line work and everything about it is amazing. It is something I am proud to have on my body.The price is reasonable, considering the high quality of the tattoo, and the facility is very clean and welcoming. My sister and I went in for matching tattoos for her birthday. Karol took us as her last customer of the day. We all got along well enough and we tried to be pleasant and appreciate her time cause she worked late. The tattoos were simple and tiny, but it took over 3 hours. Although the timing sucked, I would not have been upset or writing this review if my tattoo was actually acceptable. My hearts look they are blurred (apparently what is called blow out, although during the actually tattoo, she explained she had such a light hand that never happens) so I go back to her and she admits that it is not correct and then schedules an appointment with me to outline it in white (apparently the only fix when you mess up permanent body art). I show up to my appointment a week later and she has a client in her chair, to be nice I offer to go grab some food while she finishes. I come back 2 hours later and she is not gonna be done for a few more hours. It's already late and I have work the next morning so I decline to wait. She says she will call, we had spoken that day to CONFIRM the appoint for the fix, which obviously did not mean anything. It's been months. Still no contact, still a shitty tattoo and the realization that all she cares about is the money. Not sure how the other artist are but will not be going back to her. I am going to have to find a professional to fix her mistake... oh the irony since she also claims to be the cover up expert. Read Less

My wife and I were referred to Karel Beck about 5 years ago and we're so grateful to know her and to now call her a friend. She's so nice and easy to talk to, which makes it easy to sit for several hours while she's tattooing us. My wife already had a couple of small ones and I had none when we met her. She does amazing work and I mean amazing. She's so creative and really takes her time to make sure all tattoos are placed in the right area from all angles. My wife and I will send her several pics of what we're considering and she gets to work on creating exactly what we want, she always exceeds our expectations! Each tattoo is unique and one of a kind. We now each have numerous tattoos all done by Karel....we wouldn't think about going to anyone else. We both get so many compliments every where we go on how bright they are and how much detail are in them. I found Q Tattoo from one of my best friends who had gotten a tattoo from Q, the shop owner & Artist. I came into the shop. His lovely wife was the first person I approached, and I asked for Q right away. He was in a middle of a session. He looked up and heard he was being requested, so he took a short break and ask me what he can help me with and what tattoo I wanted.I wanted my dad's name in Chinese symbols, orchid flowers on my left arm starting from my elbow on up and for my best friend, Christopher Ryan Coons, his hand print and name on my right chest almost connecting his hand print to the Orchid flowers.The Orchid flowers represent my mom because it is her favorite flowers. she is still alive of course and thank god, but it is for my dad which he isn't alive, symbolizes my dad's thoughts and love for my mom. The Orchid flowers also symbolizes my best friends Grandma who helped raised him when his Mother died at such a young age. Orchids are her favorite flowers as well and I wanted his hand print to be close to the flowers. My best friend passed away more than 2 years ago, so I wanted to get something special for him because he was a special and incredible human being.Right now, this is a two-session masterpiece. On June 29th, 2018, I got my first piece from Q which are the Orchid flowers and my imagination got blown away from his drawing/sketching and the tattoo itself. when the tattoo was finished, I couldn't be happier and excited for my first tattoo that means so much to me. Q did such a masterful work. His work is so detailed, visionary, studied, dedicated, brought to life, patient and hard work that I surely recommend him to do your first piece and more. It took me 10 years to get this tattoo for my dad, it is not done yet. I still need to do his name in Chinese symbols and the hand print for my best friend.Overall, I highly recommend the shop to go to. It is a great place to go to get any tattoo, because they cater to your vision and thoughts. Got a cover up done here by Quan and was recommended by Karel to get some Japanese work done by Q and had a koi fish done on the back of my left arm, Q mostly freehand the koi fish around what was there and improved the koi fish as well made it more traditional and more life like, I was completely impressed with the coloring as well as the cover up he did over the one I had. Family and friends have all had work done by Sara DeLara, and after spending many hours observing the workings of this establishment, I pulled the trigger and got some ink. I cannot say enough about Sara!!!  She has done four of my tattoos and I just love every single one. She makes sure to take time and make sure you are getting everything you want. She also makes great recommendations and if it's something that is not right or won't work she will tell you!!  She is also fun to sit hours with. As long as Karel is here at Q, this is the shop for me. Karel is amazing. I got my first tattoo with her in 2007. I will follow her any where. She is the only one I trust. She can take your ideas, give you her artistic input and always come up with a "bad ass" tattoo. All of my ink work, she has done and I get nothing but compliments. Because it was Friday the 13th, a lot of people were there, but the receptionist was incredibly nice and made sure that everyone who was there - walk-in or appointment - was being cared for and didn't have to wait for so long. The shop looked clean and the artists consistently cleaned their areas after each person they tattooed. So, onto getting my first tattoo. Nickie, you're amazing! I absolutely love it. She constantly made sure I was satisfied with the placement and the little details on the design. I had a couple questions, of course, and she answered all of them along with any other questions my friends had (who also went to get their tattoos here and loved theirs). It was comforting because she answered so thoroughly! Her technique made it so that it was quick and smooth; it didn't hurt so much because she took little breaks to make sure I was doing okay, which I appreciated. Wow what an amazing shop with humble and talented artists! I found Sara's work online and emailed her for a consultation. She was very responsive and after a consultation where I vaguely told her about a few flowers I wanted and then sharing why I wanted these specific flowers, the next day, she sent me an absolute perfect image that I immediately fell in love with. Mind you, I can be really picky when it comes to tattoos I actually like and was so surprised that I did not find any reason to change what she drew.As for the tattooing process, Sara has a very grounding presence and I felt very comfortable during my entire session. Sara and I spoke candidly during the session and the more I got to know her the more I felt so grateful that she was the one doing my first tattoo (and hopefully more to come!). I decided to get my 1st tattoo here back in Jan. 2016... I got it done by Sara & she did not disappoint. I now have 3 tattoos done by her & im in love with all of them. She's the coolest & has the most gentle hands. I plan on getting my half sleeve completely done by her. Q-tattoo is a very clean, modern looking business. Everyone there is super talented. But I highly recommend Sara! I got a tattoo (Peruvian Nazca lines hummingbird) at another business & although I don't regret my tattoo, I regret not letting Sara do it.
