Honestly if your getting your first or 100,000 tatto this is the place to go. Phlap and the lady with peircings and tatts helped me out allot. When my mom passed away i wanted to get a portrait of her, i didn’t really have any big pictures and phlap and the lady would tell me if there to small and didn’t have enough detail he could use. So I finally brought in a small/medium picture but kind of dark in the background and Phlap is just such an amazing artist that he was able to still capture the detail in the background and once he was done n I was able to see the finish work it look just like in the picture. His work was absolutely spot on. And i honestly recommend all my family and friends to him just bc he’s an artist that will work with you. And his prices are not that bad. Dirty, ghetto shop, and the piercer is completely and totally inexperienced. Took her about 30 minutes just to set up for my piercing and there was no one else in there. Ended coming out crooked after waiting so long to even have it done. The front desk woman is extremely ghetto and beyond rude. Brought my kid with me and she was cussing the entire time while we waited in the front. Incredibly unprofessional. Horrible, would never recommend. Insisted arguing with me for about 15 minutes because my piercing was totally crooked and I wanted a refund, I was not about to let the piercer redo it. I would recommend NEVER, EVER going here. listen..whatever you do , dont' let phlap do a tatt on you. his work is bland, no creativity. ignored everything i said in the beginning. i kept saying " not too dark, not too heavy, just light and shaded". he did the exact opposite. i was pissed when i took a second look later. he can't tatt feather's basically. he should have said that from the begin. SHOP: I got my nose pierced here 6 years ago. I decided to go somewhere else to get my nipples pierced and they happened to be closed. I came back to Twisted Illusions because I had an amazing experience with them the 6 years ago. I came in as a walk in appointment, the lady took me in right away and she prepared everything for me. PIERCING: I faint easily with needles. As she pierced  my nipple she calmed me down and she did her best to keep me from fainting, (I was actually going to faint) she controlled my breathing and even turned on a fan, got me water so I can cool down. I only got one nipple done and paid for the price of two, (I got a deal so they charged me first) she told me "you don't need to get them both pierced now, when you feel comfortable come back and we will save your purchase information so we know you didn't get them both done, and I can do the second one for you too" she was very considerate and it is by far my favorite piercing place. When I get tattoos I will trust this place and with any future piercings I will trust them too! PIERCING UPDATE: she did an EXCELLENT job on piercing my nipple. Nice! I've heard great things about this place and I've seen their work on one of my friends who goes here quite often. My first impression was that it was a little shop in a run down looking small plaza, but the inside was very clean and the staff was very friendly.I came here with a friend yesterday and we both got piercings. I had my nose pierced and my belly button re-pierced. My friend got her tongue pierced. Overall I had a great experience. The piercer, I believe her name is Lee, made me feel comfortable although seeing my piercings and listening to Lee explaining what she was doing made my friend nervous. In turn I think it made the piercer a little nervous too.I think other than having a nervous customer making the staff a little nervous, everyone was nothing short of professional. Everything is sanitized between piercings and all the tools come in those blue UV sanitizer envelopes.I wish I would have taken a few minutes to ask Tony, the tattoo artist who greeted us when we first came in, a few questions about a potential tattoo I want to get, but there's always next time. :) Read Less

I made an appointment with Tony because a friend of mine gave me a referral for an artist in the Bay Area. I have 8 tattoos total including the one tattood on me today. Oddly enough, no pain at all with outlining and shading!! The tattoo machine he uses makes it none to less pain when I usually cringe during outlines and/or shading with my other tattoos. Shout out to Tony for doing a great job on my birthday tat and for taking me in last minute. Super chill dude with a great attitude and awesome line work. He made sure everything looked right and how I wanted. After placing the image, he took me to the other tattoo artist for another opinion which I appreciated. Nothing but compliments on my tattoo.My only complaint is the girl at the front desk. On the phone she was super nice and made me an appointment last minute. When going in and talking about my tattoo, she looked at what I wanted, which was a three word quote (placement was behind my ear), and said that it more than likely wouldn't work there because the artist wouldn't be able to shrink the font that much...........what? I've seen tattoo's that were super tiny done behind the ear, and because the font was times new roman, I didn't really understand why it couldn't be done. She continued to tell me to pick a new place because she didn't think it would work out. Why would you say that to someone who came into a tattoo shop with their heart set on what they want, especially when you aren't even the tattoo artist? As soon as Tony got there I explained the situation and he said "of course it'll work out there", he took a ruler, measured the space, and printed out my quote. I've been inked once by Loreto a couple years ago (small script letters on my rib side). It's always nice to see a woman represent in this industry! She was very professional. I had already picked out a font and printed it out for her, but she did alterations to make it look good on my body. She made sure everything was exactly how I wanted it to be, and she was easy to talk to throughout the process. Pain is subjective, but for me it was a breeze! It healed up nicely and it hasn't faded or anything.I've also been poked by Lee! The first time was a couple years ago for my tragus, which did not hurt at all, healed extremely fast/easily, and looks so damn cute. My bf and I recently got our noses pierced together, and as I expected, the process was smooth.I called right when they opened to see how busy it was, and the guy who picked up told me Lee would be available in 30 min. We head over there, fill out the necessary paperwork, and head into the room. Everything was sterile, she even wiped down the chair inbetween our sessions lol. Honestly, we were in and out of there within (what felt like) 15 minutes. Both of our noses are healing up nicely.+ sometimes their daughter is in the shop roaming around.. And she is freakin adorable.I know I'll be coming here when I'm itching for more needle work. Read Less

My boy came in to have Loreto tattoo "cash only" on his left and right biceps. He knew her from before because she has done a few of his tats, and they've all turned out great.She greeted us at the door and was extremely friendly. Her customer service was on point. She asked several questions to make sure she was doing exactly what he wanted. Gotta have good communication when you're getting something permanent. Her work was amazing! Her lines and shadowing were phenomenal (he only did a black tattoo, so I haven't had a chance to see her coloring.   Sure she is just as talented with that as she was with Wayne's arm today). I can definitely see why my friend always comes out this way to get it done from her!  My review only has the picture of "cash" down his right bicep because she is currently working on the "only" on the left. I got all my tatts done here by Phap. My first tatt was done in 2008 and I recently came back here (2014) to get a wrist tatt and to finish up my back piece (alibata down my spine). I like how Phap did an amazing job with ALL of my tatts. He even offered to re-create each drawing to suite my petite body, personality, and style. He never gave me a hard time no matter how many times I requested him to adjust the sizing or sketch. He wants to make sure his client leaves this place happy and satisfied. He also has an amazingly light hand so it won't feel like he's stabbing you too far into your skin but at the same time,  the ink they use is great quality, so I had absolutely NO fading issues. I suggest trying to set up an appointment with Phap first to see how he can best suit your tatting needs.
