Got pierced by "Big Mike" I believe his name is. White dude with American traditional tattoos. DON'T LET HIM PIERCE YOU. Took him about 2 hours to pierce my friend and I's nose, longer on her than me cause he decided to take a 35 minute break while setting up. My piercing came out crooked, and I know he knew too cause as soon as he put the ring in he followed up by saying, "your nose is almost impossible to pierce crooked." And sure enough I rushed to the mirror to see the diamond side face directly into my face, I tried waiting till the swelling went down and hoped I was just over thinking it but it's been almost 2 months and it's still the same.I see he commented saying he doesn't work here anymore so this is more of a review on him instead of the shop so heads up to his future clients who want nose piercings, don't do it. This review is for Ryan (Trip).  He is an amazing artist I absolutely love his work. I have been going to Ryan for quite some time now to get my tattoos. He has done 4 out of the 6 pieces I have.. (And that's only because I went to school in North Dakota and had two of them done out there).... Ryan does clean beautiful lines, has a light hand, and works quick. The final results are just amazing (even years later my tattoos look great!).   He has done my sternum, my side, and my hip/butt.  I recommend him to everyone that I know. One and done - Had an appointment at 11, was really excited as this ink was several years in the planning. Went in last Wednesday to make the arrangements and Ralf was very excited and encouraging. I watched him take my number and put it in the appointment in his phone.  Showed up, waited...sent an e-mail, no reply.  When I returned at noon, someone else was there, asked for Ralf, was told he was not in.  He asked if I had Ralf's phone number, I said nope - then I turned around an walked out. Finally, today at 3:35pm received an e-mail saying  "...got my schedule changed"  along with an apology. Received another e-mail, fifteen minutes later, also with an apology.  Fine.  Apology accepted.  Where's the decency of at least a courtesy call?.  These are not the people with whom I want to do business.  Now I have to wait, for me, a considerable length of time until my schedule frees up.   Extremely disappointed, very upset., they will no longer get my business and I will continue to discourage people from going there.  It was so promising and I was  looking forward to it and the sheer let down has left me bitter. Got my first tattoo on Saturday, 01/03/2015 and i cannot be any happier with the service  i received and the quality of the tattoo.  I walked in with a print out of the script I wanted and Jon Luce (he tattooed me)  spent 30 minutes finding the perfect font for me.  After finding it, he took the time to find the perfect size and explaining all the issues i might have if the font was too big or too small etc.  He made me feel welcomed and the tattoo quality.   Wow.   It came out way better than i thought it would.   He even talked to me so the whole time getting inked i felt comfortable.  I will definetly be going back to get more.  I got lucky.   My first tattoo and my go to artist in one shot. loved this place! It was a spontaneous trip with some friends and we walked in and instantly felt comfortable. Mik the artist was amazing at helping us ease or anxiety and made us feel at home. He ended up tattooing all 4 of us who went and was really quick. He was gentle and had a soft hand so it made it that much more pleasant. I will for sure be coming back to this shop for future work. I've been to Explicit Ink numerous times. If you are looking for traditional tattoos, hit up Mikhail Barrett. He's the bigger Mexican dude, bearded. He does a damn good traditional rose, but he can cover anything traditional you want. If you're looking for portraits or realist tattoos or basically anything else, ask for Eli and/or James. They are the most experienced artists in the shop. Also for the babes looking for piercings, ask for Bling-Bling. He is gentle, fast, and smooth.
