Honestly one of my favorite tattoo shops. I've been to other shops and never was as satisfied with artwork or customer service. Until I found the talented artists at skin decor. I've had Ryan Carr do all of my tattoos. He has done 7 tattoos for me. Each time, I'm so impressed with how it comes out that I come back for my next one. I received my very first tattoo here and all I have to say is that do not EVER make an appointment with Ryan Carr. Got my first tattoo and it came out like a big hunk of shit. There is absolutely no detail at all and I can say I'm embarrassed of my tattoo from how bad it was done.. You would think seeing someone come in for their first tattoo you'd take careful attention and care, but nope! Not Ryan Carr he just butchers whatever it is you want and calls it a day. Guy shouldn't be working at that place let alone call himself An "artist" going to get the work he did covered up if possible or lasered off! I called one evening and asked if they had time to do a small tattoo.  He said he would take a look at it and to drive over.  I was there within 10-15 mins and the sign on the door said closed.  I waved someone down inside, and he came out to say they're closed.  I said, "we just talked on the phone and you told me to drive over here, so i drove all the way over here!" He just said, "sorry we closed, because we weren't busy." This was 45 minutes before their posted closing time. Well i'm guessing they weren't busy the next day seeing how they treat customers. This review is mainly for the Piercer.  I'll touch on the shop itself a bit at the end... I went in to Skin Decor to talk to Joe Brazil about a Frenum piercing!!  This guy is legit!! I was really nervous, but he's a true pro and the only "free-hand piercer" I've ever met. The experience was very good, and Joe was really informative about the entire process, as well as the aftercare.  I highly recommend piercings from him. The shop itself was very clean, in a great location, and well lit (I hate those dark shady places).  I'm very happy with the piercing, it was a bit pricey, but with this guy, its definitely worth it!!! I have had two tattoos  done at this parlor. Christy did my most recent one that was a cover over a tattoo I had laser removed. She did an excellent job. I went in to get a consult about a small tattoo simple and only about an inch tall and half an inch wide. After the consult I decided against this place. The man was rude and not really helpful. And on top of that he wanted to charge $120 for this tiny little piece. I will say, however, the studio looks super super clean. Read Less

My sister and I got work done here this past monday and the experience was great. The studio was clean and organized, the staff was friendly, helpful and very professional. My sister got a tattoo done by Ryan that turned out fantastic and she said that it was much better in terms of service and professionalism than the last place she went. While she was getting her tattoo I got second piercing on each of my earlobes as well as a conch piercing. Joe Brazil was very professional and thorough. He explained everything he was going to do and walked me through each piercing as he did it which helped put me (who is pretty terrified of needles) at ease.  The placement was perfect and they are healing perfectly. I've had piercings done elsewhere and I will not go anywhere else in Fresno. Also, if you are looking for Anatometal brand jewelry he can order it! Skin Decor in Fresno ruined the tattoo on my arm... I really mean ruined it! I have to live with this mistake for the rest of my life the owner attempted to fix it but only made it worse. I would never recommend anyone go there for any reason. Not only did it look terrible but it scarred (raised the skin in that area forever) because when I can back the next day the owner attempted to fix it... that’s right he re-tattooed over the same area the next day. I've never had a worse experience. I heard good things about Megan, which is why I went there. I'm not sure the man who even worked with me WAS a piercer. He was irresponsible, stretching me up several gauges. Only later did google tell me how dangerous that was. He then put in an internally threaded piece and told me it would be a "piece of cake" to get out on my own; its currently stuck in my septum. He continued to make racist and sexist comments the whole time, then told us stories of his own rapid stretches for his piercings. It was like he was showing off with how much pain he could take, how fast he stretched up before even letting the new piercing heal. If that's how he felt about body mods, no wonder he was so cavalier with mine. I think one star is too much for this place. (Again, I heard great things about megan.) Read Less

My friend and I spontaneously decided to get some lettering and tried at two spots in Tower to no avail as they were booked weeks in advance. About five years ago I got lettering done at Skin Decor and remembered that they are usually able to take walk-ins. They took both of us, in and out in less than two hours.
