If your concerned about getting a special tattoo exactly as depicted on your example I would strongly suggest setting up an appointment with Jason at Bound by Tradition. I spent a lot of internet time finding just the right illustration of a coyote for my shoulder. If the tattoo did not capture the illustration EXACTLY it would have been a disaster. After reading the other reviews of Jason's work I decided my best chance was with him. I can't tell you how FREAKING HAPPY I am with my tattoo and can't wait until my next appointment which will put a wolf on the other shoulder. Its something about coming to a parlor like this with an artist like jason that makes the shitty feeling of a tattoo worth it. Small shop and it doesn't need to be bigger, it has that homie feeling where you can get comfortable lay down and have a conversation while getting another story put on you at the same time. I gave him a single image and the rest of my leg, and he did an awesome job. Totally captured what i was looking for. Jason does absolutely beautiful work! I had my half sleeve done by him two years ago and it still looks great. I have been complimented on the piece he did thousands of times. Yes he is busy and I had to book an appointment every 4 months but he is worth the wait. I was reading about him flaking on other reviews but I never had any issues with that. Book multiple sessions in advance if you're going to be getting a multi-session piece. addressing the guy who left the one star review - Anyone who knows anything knows you don't 'shop' for a new tattoo over the phone.  How do you know the quality of what the price is even for? Would you call an art gallery and say, "yeah I don't know what your paintings look like, but how much are they?" Price shopping is the worst way to go about it, in 20 years you're going to see the quality of the tattoo, you're not going to remember the price. "yeah, my tattoo sucks, but I got such a great deal on it!" Jason is booked over two months in advance, and there's a reason for that. His work speaks for itself. I called this afternoon to get prices on a tattoo and the guy that answered the phone, was unprofessional  he didn't care or was interested in what I was saying at all. I asked if he was still there because he wasn't even answering when I asked a question. What a disappointment! I called them based on everyone review. I didn't even get into what tattoo I wanted because he didn't give a crap. If you don't enjoy your job find another line of work, don't take it out on customers!!!!  If anyone knows a good place to get a tattoo please let me know, I am new to Fresno and needed a large tattoo done. Monet has done five of my six tattoos, so it's obvious there's something worth coming back for. Not only is she the sweetest girl ever, she's also extremely talented, completely accommodating, and wholeheartedly passionate about what she does. Every time someone sees my 1/4 sleeve that she did for me the ask if it's a real tattoo, because it's so incredibly colorful and gorgeous. Their shop rates are so reasonable and the quality of their work is so amazing, I almost feel guilty that I leave with such a great tattoo at such a low price. Monet and Jason are awesome people, not to mention awesomely talented people, and I recommend them to anyone who wants a great tattoo. This is the only tattoo shop I have ever felt completely and entirely comfortable in, and I'm proud to wear Monet's art on my skin for life. This is the ONLY tattoo parlor I would give my skin to. They are amazing artists that specialize in Traditional & Japanese work, but honestly, I'd go here for portraits, realism, biotechnical, etc. They are just that good. I have been tattooed several times by Monet & Jason both. They are extremely professional, over-the-top creative and best of all. . . .THEY LISTEN. They will listen to what you have to say about what you want, where you want it and then actually guide you from there. If you give them an idea, they will draw things up for you and have you look the piece over. The shop is bright, cheery and CLEAN the way a parlor should be. The decor is kitsch, vintage and utterly awesome. It makes you WANT to hang out there! I drive all the way from Santa Rosa, CA (about an hour and a half north of San Francisco) just to get tattooed by them. That's a 5 hour drive, Folks. THAT'S HOW GOOD THEY ARE!!!  They know their business big time. Monet even went to school for art! They both have won numerous awards at conventions and continue to excel in their skills. They are a true gem to be found in Fresno. They are a true gem to be found anywhere! Their portfolios show a huge range of styles and they have mastered them all. The colors of inks that they use are wide and if you have darker skin like I do, they really know how to make color show up and pop which is important to me. If you live in the Bay Area or the LA area, I'd seriously consider the drive to go see them. If you live in Fresno or any surrounding areas, there's absolutely no excuse to go to any other shop. Period. BOUND BY TRADITION is it. Take the train to get there. It's cheaper than driving and it's a 5 minute cab ride downtown to where their shop is located. great place for an awesome tattoo! but know what you are getting into... This Is A Business.. not a flyby night tattoo joint where you can get your ex's name crossed out and your new girls name underneath. Jason runs his business legit.. he takes time with each of his clients.. you are going to be on a wait list for an appointment.. sometimes my appointments are for several months down the line.. but you basically pay for what you get. There is a reason they are booked to the gills, and that is because you are going to get something worth getting. Monet looks like she is cranking out some killer stuff as well.. (i haven't had any by her though.. but I've seen her work and its great!...and she's hot....)shop minimum is 100 an hour. (great price for great work)you wont be able to just walk in and talk to him if he is in the middle of a session unless he already knows you.... even then he will be short with you.. WHY??? I doubt they need this review, their work speaks for itself. Regardless people always ask me "who does your ink?". I came to Jason a while back with 2 mediocre tattoos that I wanted covered and turned into one large piece. I was a bit anal about what I wanted at first but then decided to go with it and see what he comes up with. I love it! It turned out so much better than anything I would have come up with. The colors are vibrant and the detail is amazing. Since he finished my back, I have gone in to have him add a flower to my shoulder. I'll probably add more one day but for now it's perfect. My brother also goes to Jason and has some amazing art that I must admit I'm a bit jealous of. I've watched Monet while I was getting my tattoo done and she does really beautiful work as well.
