I do not suggest that you have Sean at Dogfather do a tattoo for you! This is the mess I was initially left with that I had to pay more money from a real artist to fix! You can see what it initially looked like! Then the side by sides are the before and after it first healed then after my new true artist fixed it!   He was so heavy handed that my arm turned bright red and swelled for weeks! I had huge black scabs all over the tattoo, took months to heal! Then turned into this horrible blob!  So not only did I have to pay to have this mess but then had to pay double to get it fixed!  He doesn't care what you want, he rushes through! I've been to Dogfather twice now, once for my first tattoo and the most recent time for my conch piercing. For my tattoo, I ended up just walking in with my brother & two of his friends. Front desk was super accommodating & got everything set up for us pretty quickly. They let us know that there was only one artist available, which we were fine with, especially since we didn't have an appointment. I ended up with Tony, since his schedule had a cancellation. He made sure I was comfortable & kept the conversation going the whole time (which was especially appreciated during the actual tattooing process - helpful distraction). Tony is such a perfectionist and had a few suggestions for my piece. It came out really nicely & I love it so much. I've been planning this one for a long time and it came out better than expected. I got it in memory of my grandma since she passed away when I was little. The main part of the piece is a quote from a book she gave to me. Tony got my grandma's signature perfectly & suggested the typewriter font. My grandpa is a huge fan of it. Ended up recommending Dogfather for tattoos to a couple of my friends that were looking for a place, so they ended up getting their sister tattoos here & had a good experience as well. For my piercing, I walked in with my friend & had the same experience with front desk. Kristel is a great professional & she was easy to chat with as she prepped the space for us. She has a well-stocked table of bobby pins / hair ties / miscellaneous items that her clients might need. Kristel let me take a hair tie & she made sure my friend had water & a tablet after her piercing so she wouldn't pass out. I really liked that she made us walk all the way out of the space so she could sanitize her work area between our piercings. I ended up having a bit of anxiety after my piercing, so I wasn't sure if I could keep it in. Kristel was very accommodating & suggested I come in so we could talk it over & she would take it out if that's what we decided. I ended up having a few questions for care (& I think it was my lack of knowledge that was really giving me anxiety over it - major fear of infection), so she covered all of it with me again & then some. I loved that she was willing to talk about it and took time out of her day to make sure I felt comfortable with keeping it. I'm so happy I ended up keeping it & was recently sharing with a friend my experience with Kristel. My friend was very impressed because her experience with other piercers hasn't been as nice - she would have questions & they wouldn't get into the why's or have practical aftercare suggestions. One of Kristel's is using an airplane neck pillow for new ear piercings so you can still sleep on that side of your face = game changer. After calling & going to several places hoping to get an appointment ASAP & then being told I'd have to wait the following week I happened to come across Dogfather Tattoo on Yelp & after reading the reviews, instead of calling I decided I would just show up with my fingers crossed hoping I could get an appointment within the next day or two . Well, as I walked in I was welcomed in, questions were answered & within the next 5min I was called to the back to pick out the font for my tattoo & 10mins later , my tattoo was done ! Shout out to Sean & the staff for kindly welcoming us in, being so friendly & setting a pleasant atmosphere . You guys are amazing ! Especially Sean, thank you for being patient with me, answering my questions, & taking the time out to tattoo my finger ! Im amazed at the fact that I didn't feel anything beside a pinch at the very beginning because I have 6 tattoos & they all hurt/stung & bled like crazy so I was expecting something similar but no, no pain . Five stars for amazing welcoming people at this place!!!Super patient folks & answered all our queries (we had loads of for our first tat)...Me n my wife Went for our first tattoo- supposed inquiry- which resulted in actually getting the tattoo.. First part of the review is for Kristel the piercer. I went into the shop with my friend for the first time back in February I believe? That same friend had convinced me to get my nipples pierced while she was there for her tattoo appointment with Sean. I was super nervous and thought I would back out but as I was greeted by Kristel I knew I'd be in good hands. While in the room she talked me through the process and told me it'll be over before I know it and it was. Very professional, funny, and very thorough with her work. Will definitely be back for more piercings from her!Second part is for Sean, I decided to get a tattoo from him in June. Replied very fast to my email and had patience while we both waited for my work schedule to come out so I could make the appointment ASAP. He fit me in no problem at all with my tight work schedule for 6/13 and I emailed him my availability 6/1. I told him I wanted the San Jose Sharks logo on my forearm and at the appointment he made sure it was perfect placement and of course the right size for my arm.
