first impression upon going in for my consultation with steve was that the shop was a1. super clean & professional. lots of artwork hanging up that just reassured me that even tho i didn't know what my stencil would come out looking like, i would love it. i came in a little earlier than the time steve allows for consults, but i was impressed that the shop didn't turn me away so i had no problem waiting for him to take a little break from tattooing. my consult was thorough. i could see his mind working as i expressed my ideas & vision. like i stated before, the work here is awesome, so i threw out ideas but i ultimately wanted him to arrange it his style. i booked the appointment & everything was so modern. i received a digital receipt followed by emails confirming & reminding me of my appointment.well i managed to stay alive until that eventful day  so i checked in on the ipad (so modernnnn) & i felt very comfortable based on the questions asked. when it came down to me going back to get prepared for the work, steve was very professional & knowledgeable. he didn't get annoyed with me changing the placement & was very attentive once we started. he always asked if how i was doing & i have to point out how gentle he was during the wiping. this was key to me because we all know that can be a bitch. he has a very light hand & the tattoo kept getting better, which is why i'm glad i let him have free reign. all my questions during the tattoo were answered in depth & he is very forthcoming with information. sweetest guy. he gives you what you can handle & even pep talks you to help you power thru.i love this shop & i definitely wish to return for more work. 10/10 would recommend. I have waited most of my life to get a tattoo to honor my favorite pop star Boy George and the opportunity presented itself this week when I was able to meet Boy George and have him design a tattoo autograph for me. I came to Dark Hearts because the reviews of the artist's art were all positive. I walked right in on a Friday evening to a very clean and well organized establishment. My appt was June 28th,2018 with Miyo. I wanted flowers and vines and names and she told me that what I wanted, rather the way I wanted it  wouldn't look good, especially where I wanted it, so I left the design totally up to her and I am SO glad I did! At the end of the 5 hours I had a beautiful tribute to my kids and grandkids which is exactly what I wanted. She was very patient and we had a nice chat about a variety of things. This shop has an awesome vibe, very clean, and rad art all over. There are no "rooms," but they have wall-like dividers up to seperate each artist's station, so you do have privacy. I've gotten a half sleeve done by Steve and he did amazing. All the artists are super chill and it's a great environment but what makes the difference here is how clean the shop is and how much effort goes into their tattoos. At Dark Hearts I saw them take extra steps and even triple check to make sure the work area was clean. I'm newer to tattoos so I'm also glad that they educated me so well on how to care for them.I did everything they told me and all my tattoos healed perfect. I went in to the shop a year ago in April because I had been doing some research on water color tattoos, I got introduced to Andrew and I showed him what I wanted, everything was so fast and easy. The shop is extremely clean and all the artist are humble, down to earth and talented. I left my deposit which goes towards your tattoo balance. Go to Miyo!!!!! I wanted a tattoo to celebrate my kidney transplant I had a little over a year ago. I went in for a consult and gave her a few ideas but let her do the full design. It was perfect!!! Was greeted immediately at the front desk by a super friendly artist who gave me a price and his recommendation on who would execute my idea the best. Came back later on in the day after making up my mind that I wanted it and luckily got Pres to do my tattoo! Pres did an awesome job and made me feel very comfortable. Had a fantastic experience with Miyo today.  I wanted a cartoon style pinup of my wife with our dogs (she's a veterinarian).  Sent her some pictures and let her draw up a design.  She showed me what she came up with and I didn't change a single thing with her design.  I filled out the paperwork and she got to tattooing right away.  Miyo made me feel super relaxed and has a great sense of humor.  It was honestly like getting tattooed by a good friend, chatting and joking throughout the tattoo.  I couldn't be more pleased with how it came out.  The vibe of the shop is very friendly and chill.  I highly recommend Dark Hearts if you are looking for exceptional artists and a great atmosphere. I must say.. this was my first tattoo. Been wanting one for years. Just never felt I knew what I wanted.... where to go... I've been passing by Dark Hearts Tattoo for a long time. Never had the desire to go in since every other time I went to a shop they were more stand off ish and just not welcoming. Soooo glad I went in to this one!!!! TOTALLY different vibe.. Miyo greeted me.. she was nice, inviting was interested in what I wanted. Not what she THOUGHT I wante...d. I knew right off I found my artist. I made an appointment and communicated my desires via email and trust me.. I probably spun her head with attached photos. Never once did she make me feel a bother. She's a lovely person and knows what she's doing with ink!! I had my first tattoo Saturday 11th of March . Took several hours and when I saw the finished product I was amazed at how beautiful and real the rose and hummingbird looked. She is a very good artist. Went in a couple days ago to get my tattoo done with Miyo. Loved what we came up with! I had an initial idea but then when I went I for my appointment I had a change of heart but glad Mito was okay with it! Tattoo is a bit bigger than palm size, got it on my right forearm, was there for a few hours, Miyo was calm and professional and made me feel welcomed. Too expensive! I Said I wanted something similar to the work I wanted with less details, still was charging me almost 2 grand for it. Got the work done somewhere else and paid 550, totally worth going somewhere else!Maybe if you didn't say cheap work I would of raised you a star but no honey, I found an artist who was very pleased to do the work I wanted and plus his work won the tattoo expo competition. This was my 3rd tattoo, and my first larger, high-detailed piece with color. Robert was incredibly detailed and precise with his work, and often stepped back and assessed to make adjustments when we were wrapping up. I appreciate the extra effort put in to make it that much more awesome and on point. He had a very professional and relaxing demeanor that made the experience very comfortable (especially sitting in a chair for hours :) ). The shop was very clean and organized and definitely is about professionalism. I noticed and liked that the other artists all came and checked on each other and the work being done, and celebrating it. Definitely a lot of support. Two weeks ago, my friend and I went in to get our tattoos. We purposely booked our appointments back to back because we live 1.5 hours away. The drive and wait was well worth it. Andrew Audish is an amazing artist. I initially found him on Instagram. I really wanted a watercolor tattoo but there were very few I could find and even less in California. The day of the appointment I was really nervous. Although this was my second tattoo, my first one was small and took 10 min. Starting just from the initial email, Andrew made me feel very comfortable. He understood exactly what I wanted. Throughout the whole process he was gentle and we chatted about different things. My tattoo took approximately 2 hours. The time honestly went by quickly. When he finished I was absolutely in love with it! Since then I have emailed him a few questions about my tattoo.
