For my most recent tattoo, I wanted a painting that my Dad made for me placed on my left shoulder blade. After asking around, some of my husband's friends highly recommended White Rabbit Tattoos as they had their tattoos previously created by Mark. Upon walking into the shop to schedule the appointment, I was pleasantly surprised! Their "office" is not your typical tattoo parlor, instead you walk-in feeling as if you have just walked into an art gallery. It is stunning and extremely clean! The walls from front-to-back are decorated with canvases and portraits drawn & painted by Mark and Chris. It is truly beautiful! There is an elegant-feeling with the furniture and model statues around the room. Mark met with me within a few minutes and discussed my tattoo idea in-depth. I could tell he was very passionate about his work and extremely considerate of the fact that I wanted it to strongly resemble my Dad's drawing but that I was very open to suggestions. I discussed with him that I wasn't exactly sold on the "circular line" encompassing the flowers and hummingbird together. He mentioned the idea of possibly extended the vine further around to help keep the picture complete but thus removing the "hard line".  He did mention that their business charged a $150 non-refundable appointment-booking fee and that they charged by the hour for their tattoos. Amounting this tattoo to be around $650. He suggested that verify that I wanted to commit to this tattoo with him before scheduling the appointment. I agreed so I left the office, thought about the price, and discussed it with my husband. Having seen his previous work and due to this tattoo being personally drawn by my Dad, the last thing I wanted was money to dissuade my decision and have the tattoo done cheaper somewhere else by someone who didn't have his artistic talent. So I returned, scheduled the appointment, and paid the $150 booking fee. Because White Rabbit Tattoos is ought after for their amazing tattoos, Mark was personally booked out by a few months. I booked my appointment for the day after Christmas which allotted me time for  the tattoo to heal before returning to work. As discussed, I emailed Mark pictures of my Dad's painting 1 week prior to my appointment. When I arrived he already had the stencil created and allowed me to try out multiple sizes and placements.  He offered to fill in the background color with a fading yellow scheme that could add to the completeness-look of the portrait but left the decision up to my discretion. The tattoo in-all took around 4.5hrs to complete without hardly any breaks (which was great! I'm NOT a fan of taking breaks during my tattoos). He asked my opinion on a few details within the hummingbird before he completed it (i.e., the shape of the hummingbird's beak and if I preferred it more rounded or pointy), which I greatly appreciated!! Mark has a very gently hand and was very considerate. Mark & Chris both made me feel extremely comfortable while I was there; very much appreciated since my husband was out of the country. I am beyond thankful with the way the tattoo turned out. It's ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!! It looks almost IDENTICAL to my Dad's painting with only a few minor changes. My Dad is so impressed and beyond proud! It's a something that I will forever cherish!! Mark was so thoughtful and is so amazing at what he does. I moved back to Cali a couple years ago and started looking around for a good artist/shop to get my next tattoo. Soon as I came across Mark Freitas' work I knew I wanted to stop into White Rabbit and talk with him. I gave him the idea of what I wanted and he made it happen. It was a couple months wait to get it all started, but seeing the quality tattoo afterwards I knew why he was so booked up. Come get on his books ASAP, it was easy to work with Mark and definitely worth the wait. I came back a year later to start a half sleeve on my other arm and once again great experience. Came across white rabbit while researching for my next project. What I liked about the work they do is that it's all consistently great work. The line work, the shading everything is awesome. The place is super nice and not noisy, that includes their tattoo machines. I've never been in a tattoo shop where their machines are super quiet. Not to mention that mark and Chris are super helpful. They both just want you to have a great tattoo that you are going to love.  I went with mark to do my sleeve. It's a play on Disneyland, pirate, and family all put together. So far it's awesome and will be even better once it's completed.   Everyone I come in contact with that wants a tattoo, I send them to their Instagram. Their work speaks for itself. I have been to a few tattoo parlors in Fairfield and Vacaville. This by far is the cleanest and most professional looking. The parlor it's self is very artistic. Mark the owner is very professional and caring. He won't just "tat" anything. It's got to be something both he and you will want forever. He will give advice and help guide you. I've been thinking about getting a tattoo for a very long time. I've looked at a large amount of tattoo artists work and even know a few personally. When I started seeing the work that my brother and sister in law were getting from Mark I decided to investigate further and loved everything that I saw. The main reason that I decided to go with Mark was upon reviewing his work I noticed right away that it was very consistent. His line work, his shading, everything was clean! Artists that I'd looked at in the past were hit or miss depending on the style or the piece and I'd never wanted to take that chance on something so permanent. Needless to say when I decided that I wanted to do a full sleeve right out of the gate for my first tattoo, I wanted to look for someone with consistency. I went down to talk with Mark and let him know what I was looking to get done. He was extremely excited to hear what I wanted and loved my ideas and the more we talked he couldn't wait to get started on the designs. I gave him my ideas and left everything up to him from there. The day of my first appointment he had 3 of the 4 main pieces for my sleeve drawn up and we decided to start with outlines for multiple pieces instead of completing one piece at a time. This was mostly for my own knowledge that I wouldn't be able to chicken out on the sleeve. His shop is very clean and professional and he and chris show a passion for their art that is very cool to see when they are working with clients. I've had multiple appointments and we're around half way done with the shading prior to some color. Every appointment has been comfortable and Mark listens to his clients whether it's how they're feeling or just having good conversation while he's going to town. My wife has gotten a beautiful quarter sleeve by Mark and I suggest White Rabbit to everyone I know. This is the bottom line,I've been getting tattooed my white rabbit tattoos for many year's. My whole family goes to see Mark ,he's a truly gifted artist.as Chris is also..I have won 2 tattoo contests, best in color, mind you one tattoo is serval years old,and the judges were blown away..ya,I won that contest also white rabbit is a professional studio, basically make a appointment talk to them...and let the magic happen,and it's a one on one experience, what I mean is there isn't 4 dudes hanging out front smoking and another 3 inside bullshiting and playing games. .Mark don't play that,this is a studio for people who are serious about getting   a award winning tattoos.He has no $75 tattoo designs on the wall..this is NOT that type of studio..Mark and Chris go out of their way for clients, I kinda find it hard to believe anyone would have a bad experience. Because I know mark is a stand up guy,he runs is shop very professional,hey go cheak out other shops in the area,,see for yourself.   Good tattoos ain't cheap and cheap tattoos ain't good..you pay for what you get. The White Rabbit Tattoo Parlor is the only place I will go to get any ink. All of my family and friends go to this parlor not only due to the extreme level of talent that both Mark and Chris show through the quality work they do, but also because of the professionalism of the establishment. The shop is super clean, Mark and Chris are both great, friendly people; and just by walking into the place you can feel how passionate they are about tattooing. For each of my tattoos I've gotten here, Mark has sat with me and thoroughly listened to my ideas and come back with an amazing design each time. I am still blown away at the level of detail he is able to achieve in his tattooing. I should also mention that I feel extremely comfortable and welcomed every time I'm at the shop whether it's to get a tattoo, make an appointment, or just swing by to say hello. I have seen a lot of great tattoo shops in the Bay Area but The White Rabbit is easily the best one in Northern California - and again the only place where I will get tattooed. Wow there are a lot of good reviews here.  I wish we had the same experience as everybody on here.I went to the shop. checked it out. Had a nice vibe. It was clean.  Chris was nice.  The price is by the hour.  Cool. got it, this is the place. Not my first rodeo.  Was confident in the place, for my wife who had been wanting a tattoo.  Tattoos to us are about the experience and the story the tattoo tells.  When presented the idea, he said it would take two weeks to draft.  Put a down payment and naturally out of excitement wanted to see if any ideas were drafted within that timeframe.  Turns out the piece was not drafted until the day prior.  Ok I get it, he was probably busy.  My wife is the sweetest person on earth and to see her excited and then let down, not cool.  But like I said I get it, he was probably busy.He Says the piece will be a few sessions.  In my mind, this can get done in two session.  Again, not my first rodeo. So I guesstimate based off of my experience with multiple tattoo artists this will atleast be close to $1500-$1600 range.  The pictures provided, is the incomplete piece that is already sitting over $1,000. The picture provided is the span of only two sessions.  The piece is only 30% done.  So here is the kicker, I'm not disappointed in the prices, that is small in scale to what happens next.  She schedules her third session 2 weeks in advance.  She gets child care because I'm out in the field training.  She shows up, and he looks confused.  Turns out he double booked her.  Instead of turning the other person away, he turns her away.  I get it mistakes happen.  I'm out for training,  not there to defend my wife because I felt it was wrong to turn her away.  I called the shop and left a message and asked him to call her an apologize to her.  He did not call her.  He did not call me.  That would have atleast been the professional thing to do.There are many other small things that led to this not being a good experience, such as not letting her take a picture of the draft tattoo.  Most places are ok with showing off their work rather than thinking someone would take it.  At the end of it I felt my wife's kindness was being taken advantage of.  The explanations for pushing out to multiple session did not add up to me.  I believe the sessions were strategically placed to continue paying high priced sessions.  You be the judge off the pictures.  Is that $1,000 to you?  She was just so happy and excited to get some work done.  She trusted him. He spun it in a way that would get her to spend up to $3,000 on $1,500 piece.  My opinion on prices are based on my experience( I'm sleeved up).  Anyway, like I said.  I wish we had the same awesome experience as everyone on here. Mark did my tattoo on my forearm. I waited a year stalking his work until I figured out what I wanted. As an artist I'm very picky about who I choose. So after seeing his work over the months, I knew he was the one. He's the best in the area and you can see that by looking at his work. He's very cool and laid back. His location is very elegant. I asked for a custom piece that Mark showed no interest in, and when I told him what I DIDN'T want he did exactly that and got pissed at me when I mentioned it and said I was wasting his time. He was not ready when I came for my appointment (he had already made me reschedule), he made excuses and refused to even apologize. He kicked me out after an hour of tattooing because he was late to get started and he had another client waiting. When I asked him about it and asked for some sort of compensation he was rude, inconsiderate and overall an ass. He isn't the kind of tattoo "artist" who actually cares about the work he does, just the money he gets from it. I wouldn't call him an artist, although to be fair he thankfully had good work so my tattoo isn't one I regret, just giving him my money. What a wonderful experience I had tonight!  I got the best ever tat from Chris Wallace. A wonderful and talented man who drew up exactly what I wanted and then executed it perfectly. BEST TATTOO SHOP HANDS DOWN! Mark is amazing and he's the best artist I've ever been to-he has done 3 of my tattoos so far. He did an awesome "rework" of a bad tattoo I had done only a year prior-now, 2 years later my ink is still as bright as the first day I got it!! I have been going to Mark, the owner of this fine establishment for all of my inking needs for quite a while now. He is very talented, customer service oriented, professional and clean. He has done 2 (what I'd have thought to be difficult) large cover ups on me flawlessly. I am more than happy with my skin art, the time I spent in the parlor and the reasonable price for such unique work. He has a gentle hand, unlike some artists i have gone to in the past, and that makes a huge difference to me!
