My wife and I just went to Honeymoon to get a few spontaneous tattoos and it was probably the best tattoo experience I've ever had. Originally I went in for lettering but Ross was very helpful and informative and let me know that small lettering may bleed and not look ideal later in life. This was useful information that led me to getting a cymbidium orchid instead. It was colored and shaded and came out beautifully. My wife's tattoo was by Alex, who was also very polite and made her Greek lithograph style evil eye tattoo look great. The secretary was friendly and everything was quick. The shop was clean as well. I first got a tattoo at honeymoon because it was close to where I was living. Well, I've been going to Honeymoon for about a year now, and there is a reason I keep coming back. Matt, Alex, Drewpiewski (sp?) and the rest of the gang are some of my favorite tattooers in Sacramento. This shop is super clean, everyone is super respectful and consistent, and the artists are incredible. Tons of flash to look at, great music, clean bathroom (always a plus) and has its own parking lot. If you're trying to decide what to get, or even whether or not you want to get a tattoo, just do it! Sent out a few requests after a disappointing experience yesterday of being scheduled for an appointment and then showing up and being told he did not think I would come back. Andy responded very quickly and got me in. Clean shop, very nice artists and very welcoming. Eric Ross did my work and I will be seeing him again real soon for additional work. If I wanted more tattoos this is where I would return. They have their own parking lot so it's not street parking. They have a ton of designs or can easily use a design you have. The shop is very clean, even the restroom was well stocked and clean. The place is well lit and music is just enough to keep one singing in their head (if one knows the song) without one having to try to raise one's voice to be heard. I had a little tattoo made (the size of a quarter with circles and lines done) and Jason did a phenomenal job explaining everything, what it would eventually look like cause of where I want it done, how to help it heal.I was in and out in less that 30 minutes ( note: the design I had was tiny).They prefer cash upfront prior to tattooing. I love this shop! I got my first tattoo with Sam in September and I couldn't be happier with my tattoo and my experience with them. With this being my first tattoo, I was very nervous. Sam made the whole process very laid back and easy. I came in with a silly drawing I made myself and he made it into something awesome. All of the people I have met from this shop are super friendly and very inviting. I am sure all of the guys are fantastic but I can say for sure that Sam is awesome and wants your tattoo to be perfect. He is also very good at educating you on the process and why certain details work and some don't. The fun friendly staff at Honeymoon are knowledgeable about tattoo history and customs.  They helped place my tattoo so that it looks just how I wanted it!  The lines are clean and sharp, and I am very happy with my new tattoo!  The shop is well lit by many windows, so I didn't feel like I was getting worked on in some biker's bacement, and they use new needles on every client.        When my new art was done I was given thorough instructions for care both verbally, and in printed form.  I will recommend Honeymoon to all my friends! First off, I want to thank you yelpers. I went to Honeymoon because of your reviews. And, none of you were wrong. I stopped in because I had a tattoo that was half way done. Douchebag "friend" of mine was doing it and stopped returning my calls about 3 months ago. So, I decided to get it done professionally. I came here first and met Ross. He instantly had an idea but I wanted to "check out" someplace else. I then decided to come back here and not am I glad. First, the place is super clean. You can tell they keep things nice. Ross found a good pic and spent some time drawing on my arm where the lines would go. 3.5 later, he basically did the entire tattoo over. I can't explain how happy I am with the work he did. He took a before and after picture that will show you the quality of work. They have a customer for life with me. Top notch artists who really know what they are doing. Walked in and we were greeted by Alex who was so nice and helpful. After deciding the design was too big for where I had decided it would go, I changed my mind...twice. I highly recommend this shop and James Ross.  I had a 30 year old tattoo I wanted to cover up.  I have been looking at shop and artists for about a year.  I read all the yelp reviews and having just moved to Fair Oaks decided to just walk in on a Saturday.  First thing was the look and feel of the shop...very clean and open and inviting.  I was welcomed to the shop and asked how could they help me.  As I started to discuss my old tattoo and what I was thinking, James "Ross" came out of the office and we discussed and looked at some images I had brought in.  After about 10-15 mins I decided to make an appointment for the following Saturday.  James took a rough outline of my old tattoo and suggested I stop in on Friday for a preview before my appointment.  I left a deposit and was out the door in under 30 mins. Stopped in on Friday and was blown away with the drawing.  I wanted a mix of styles and some key features were important to me.  Ross pick up on all that from our conversation and captured them all.  He gave me a few suggestions about prepping for the appointment.I arrived about 10 mins early and Ross was ready.  My appointment was at 12 noon (when the shop opens),  I was pleased that he was all set up and I didn't have to wait.  From start to finish I was in the chair for 3-1/2 hours and we took a couple 10 min breaks along the way.  I had been told by other shops/artist it would take 5-6 hours to do what I wanted.  Ross got right to work and made the experience friendly and easy.  He kept checking to make sure I was doing ok.  He had suggested we might want to split the appointment, I told him I planned to do it in one sitting.  At the end it was a great experience.The shop and other artist were great, checking in to see the progress.  All said I am very happy and satisfied with my new tattoo, and 3-1/2 hours and $450.00 was a great deal.  Thank you Honeymoon Tattoo's and James Ross.Shawn M.
