My large family was gathered in San Marcos to mourn the sudden, unexpected loss of my sister, Julie, who was a high school teacher in the San Diego area for nearly 30 years. Two nights before many of us were leaving town, Julie's daughter Casey mentioned that she wanted to get a tattoo in honor of her mom. Within minutes, ten of us decided to get the same tattoo with her -- but only if we could all do it the next day. Lorenzo answered the phone when Casey called and explained... what we wanted to do, and he immediately agreed. Turns out he went to Vista High, where Julie taught for many years, and his nephew is a current student and heard of Julie's death. The next morning, Lorenzo designed the image of the purple tulip that Casey requested - her mom's favorite flower - and he recruited Rocky to tattoo 5 of us while he did the other 5. I LOVE this shop's atmosphere. I have been to many shops & I have never felt as comfortable as I did at Fat kid Tatt2. The staff was very friendly & inviting. The shop was very sanitary. If you want a quality tattoo at an affordable price, this is the place to go. I'm sure all of the artists here are great, but I recommend working with Tyler. I got my first tattoo yesterday (3/30/17) and I was incredibly nervous but Tyler eased all my nerves and was dedicated not only to making my tattoo look nice but giving me exactly what I wanted in terms of design. I showed him the design I had in mind and the quote that I wanted to incorporate and he sketched out exactly what I was looking for without direction from me. Although this was my first direct experience with Tyler, he also tattooed my sister back in Fall of 2016 and she was equally satisfied with her tattoo. Tyler takes his time to make sure he gets it right and is a master of his craft. I'm not sure if I'll get another tattoo again, but if I do, I'll definitely be going back to Tyler at Fatkid. Stevie did my Tattoo. I'm 63, this was my first ever Tattoo, this was on my "bucket list". Yes it hurt alittle but was just an awesome experience. I have a very unique ladybug design on my wrist and the peace sign behind one ear and another ladybug behind my other ear. Stevie was so awesome and made me feel so comfortable.
