I went to emerald 6 months ago, December, to get my top naval pierced for my 16th birthday. I filled out all the paper work with my mom and we waited 2 hours to get pierced. When i went back in the room i layed on the table and the lady said, “I’m sorry, I am not able to pierce the top naval” for whatever reason i don’t remember. 6 months later I went to a piercing place in Sacramento and when i showed the piercer my belly button he said “that’s the perfect naval for a piercing” This makes me really frustrated and upset. Review is weeks late. I got my first portrait done by Jesse and being my first portrait I had to be very picky. These guys are very friendly and efficient! Tattoos were $100 which was a bit more than i expected but thats ok. Seems to have a decent amount of people but I only had to wait like 30min to get my tattoo done. I got a word tattoo on my right back. It hurt slightly, like what youd expect a needle itching through your skin would feel like; however, it was super fast so its all good. Took my daughter to get her nose pierced and I am absolutely in love with this place! I spoke with Christina before coming down and she is the sweetest I also appreciate the fact they asked for my daughters Birth cert and ID's for both of us. Me and my husband decided to be walk ins for a tattoo and pirceing which we were able to get both done right then Guy did my husbands tattoo he was very nice and a great artist my pircer was very reassuring about it and told me about her history which she has many years of experience the price was perfect i got two pircings and my husband got the boston B on his forarm. So I'm apparently having some early onset mid-life crisis, and have been contemplating getting my septum pierced for some time now. After generally putting it off because I'm actually really chicken sit when it comes to piercings (punching holes scares me more than needles poking my skin). I decided one Monday, after work, I was just going to go do it. Since my hubby had to do something Monday that evening with his friends, I thought that I would check out the place in Elk Grove to get it done. I've heard good things about Emerald Tattoo and Piercing since it had opened, so naturally, I figured this would be the place.It was easy enough to find, and since it's located in a shopping center of sorts, parking was more than plentiful. Upon notice, the place was really clean and looked well maintained. I hate going into shops and feeling overall griminess around.After filling out the obligatory forms, them taking my ID, I was lead to the back where (Brian? Holy crap I forgot) got down to business. After cleaning and measuring the spot on where he was about to stab me with a needle, I was instructed to lie back on the table. After a brief moment, he told me to take a deep breath, and then once I exhaled, in went that needle. Nice and quick. Painless for the most part, but my eyes did water (natural reaction apparently). After a quick check in the mirror, I was lead to the front desk to pay. Seriously, quickest thing I've ever had done.Two weeks later, my septum is healing very nicely, and now I'm thinking of getting my nostrils done. It's very close to my home, so I definitely will be back. They also of course do tattoos, so I might have to check this place out for that and get something done here. Read Less

I'm so happy with my experience! I got a double helix piercing on the outer cartilage of my right ear and Paige, my piercer, was awesome. She really helped calm me down and was so kind! The piercing hurt, of course, but it was quick and I was done in less than ten minutes. The receptionist, Kristina was also fantastic; she went over the aftercare information with me when I was done. Overall, the vibe of the place was great. Everyone was extremely kind and welcoming. I went alone and I was so glad that I didn't feel intimidated at all (especially since the only piercings I had were my earlobes from when I was 5..). Amazing, amazing experience. I called ahead of time to schedule an appointment and Russ picked up the phone.  He was friendly,  informative,  and answered all my questions.  When I arrived,  Russ walked me through the process and signed me in.  The piercing was a breeze.  A pinch sensation and all was good. Things to note: Emerald's website provides all sorts of useful information, from locations to pricing to aftercare. No appointments are necessary for piercings - walk-ins only (Saturdays tend to be the busiest). Cash only. Squeaky clean establishment. Wonderful customer service.Tegan made the whole process as painless as could be, despite the fact that she was putting a hole in my ear. Back in September I decided that I want to get my tragus pierced. I don't know why but I wanted it and I was determined to get it. My boyfriend has seen Tegan go into his work and told me about this place and how cool she was. I looked at their website and the pricing for their piercings was extremely reasonable. My tragus piercing was $25! Seemed like a steal to me! Haha.The shop is in the older looking area in Elk Grove on Elk Grove Florin tucked away towards the back. Lots of parking for sure. I went in and I could tell the shop was clean. I filled out my paperwork and went in to see Tegan who was AMAZING. Super friendly and easy to talk to. I normally have a high pain tolerance and wasn't expecting the piercing to hurt THAT much but mannnn that piercing hurt. Thankfully Tegan put me at ease as other people have said. My friend was with me when I got the piercing and he liked Tegan so much the next week he got his septum pierced so that speaks volumes to how amazing this chick is.I'll definitely be back to get a tattoo and another piercing (I'm planning on getting an industrial next) and I'm so excited because this shop is legit!Some helpful tips - it does say that they take card but I think they prefer cash so just save yourself the trouble and bring cash with you if you can. Also their website is FULL of information so take a look at it. You can find pricing there as well as instructions for after care for your tattoo or a piercing.
