I got some work done by Brandon last month and you can tell right when you walk through the door that you will be treated like family. All the guys are all so welcoming and helpful, and this is definitely the place to go if you are also in need of some encouragement, motivation, etc while you're getting inked. I was even fed, haha! The positive vibes and wisdom overflow from everyone here, and the artists are really talented at what they do. I had some lettering done, and although tribal tattoos are the specialty, Brandon did an amazing job on my tattoo (I had Psalm 18:2 written out in Script). You need to go here if you want to get your next tattoo! Atmosphere is chill, calm, and relaxing. Had Brandon do my tattoo and he did an amazing job! TheKuya is always there and you can't help but laugh when he's around. But overall they are a great shop with great artists who want to make sure you get the best treatment and overall quality! My first time at this location, second time meeting Brandon.  AND still a fan!My husband had Brandon do a big piece a couple of years ago at their old location, the details on his work is very clean and original. My husband was beyond satisfied!This time around my best friend and I got our quick ink done by Brandon.  Super glad I was able to have him do it because he's still very humble and easy to talk to about anything!  I'm a bit bummed that my first tattoo done by him was a small symbol but don't ya worry, i do plan to come back and will definitely reach out to Brandon to add some awesome details to finish it off. I know for sure his creativity will NOT disappoint. The shop all around is smaller compared to the first one, but doesn't matter because once you step in you immediately feel the good vibes and they definitely treat you like family.  Very chill with good music. So I came here cause my brother was getting work done by Brandon, sarapbuhay, and I was sold. Ended up making an appointment with him myself lol.The Goodlife Tattoo shop is inside a parking lot, so drive slow cause you might miss it! When you walk in, you immediately feel good vibes all around. The guys at the shop are really friendly, and funny. They play good music too!I told Brandon that he can put whatever on me. He took his sharpie and started drawing (yes, he did it FREEHAND) and I was not disappointed whatsoever!! He said a little prayer for me too in the beginning of our session, which was awesome, in my opinion. Go see Winston! Dude hooked up a beautiful hummingbird tattoo on my wifes foot. Winston spent additional time getting the details just the way she wanted them. All the artists are friendly and keep the vibe very mellow, my daughter hung out for a couple hours and and they made her feel welcome. Definitely a dope shop and should be well known by now, I've known quite a few people who have gotten tatoos done at this shop.This visit I came with my cousin , Robert, who was getting a second session in with Brandon. He was getting additions to his first tattoo (which covered his left shoulder & Trap) to wrap to the front and incorporate his chest. Cousin drove from Westchester in Los Angeles and he has no problem because he enjoys the vibe of the shop, company of those of us who go with him and he is always blown away by the after product.Definite a dope place if you're a guest of someone who is getting work done, great island reggae music playing throughout the day. They don't mind talking or letting guests roam free and ask questions.My cousins session was from about 2:30 to about 8:00 p so from sketching to getting started and the shading he added on it was just dope to see it all come together. Received my first tattoo ever with Brandon, who previously tatted my brother. I really liked the way my brother's turned out so I decided to drive from LA down to San Diego for my tattoo. It may sound crazy but I decided to get my ribs done first. I basically told Brandon that I wanted something similar to my brother's and I gave him free reign over the design and needless to say he blew away my expectations.Once you're in the shop they make you feel like family. They play the best old school hip hop. GoodLife has such great vibes and I had a positive experience all around when getting my Filipino tribal motifs infused with poly borders! Before: Communication with Gabe was legit. If I ever had any concerns or ideas leading up to my appointment, he was just a text away and he always responded. Prep: For tribal they design it straight on your skin so that they can form it to your body which I love. One thing that was very important to me was that the tattoo played off of my muscles and bones. It did take some time, but I didn't mind because it meant that there was a lot of thought being put into my tattoo. The only downfall with that was we didn't get to include one of the motifs I wanted and it was difficult to incorporate the alibata I wanted as well. Nevertheless I'm still happy with my outcome. During: Gabe was comforting throughout the entire process. With my first tattoo being on my ribs he definitely made sure I was always okay. They had Island music going which helped so much with the pain. After: Gabe informed me of the basics of taking care of my tattoo and even had great ideas to add to it already. I was here yesterday 3/26/2015. My new go-to tattoo shop, although I won't be getting another one (well maybe a gangsta one on my foot haha) but I'm definitely going to refer this shop to all my friends & everyone else out there. I was referred to @thakuya & @sarapbuhay by my cousin's @noelnegringo & @j619r. They're really close to them, like family. I DM'd them on IG and immediately felt comfortable and trusted their art work.  All I needed was to finish my HK tat on my lower right back I got 7 years ago. Since summer is coming up and I'm going places in a bikini or backless outfit I needed this done asap!  I tried reaching out to the original artist that did this but he's been avoiding me so on to the next.@thakuya schedule to see me w/in the same week (yay!). As I arrived to the shop I was immediately greeted by 2 guys (I forgot their names) and they were very welcoming and friendly. I told them I was here for @thakuya then BAM @thakuya walks in. The shop is very creative with art pieces & souvenirs from their home town (Guam / Philippines), I fell in love with the Aubrey Hepburn portrait they have on their wall. I WANT IT!@thakuya preps his table, while I'm freaking out and hyperventilating (haha jk) cz I was scared A**F**K. When Harry did mine it was sooooo painful, oh god (Big Sean voice LOL).  I showed Kuya the tat and told him exactly what I wanted - well sorta... cz he already had an idea of what I wanted and how it should look. I told him to make HK stand out more. As he's examining HK he asked "are those dots on her dress?" I said "haha no theyre flowers haha" As we're about to start, he says a prayer. Loved it! I felt more relaxed. Then he begins with the needle, I can hear the humming vibration, I squeeze on to my shirt biting my lip --- @thakuya begins to outline my flowers... then I'm like  oh that's not bad at all LOL - I freaked out all day at work, I #2'd three times!  Hahaha Then my cousin @noelnegrino (Best Cousin EVER) visits me to provide me with support... since I texted him the day before how scared I was and if he can give me anesthesia haha.After 30mins VIOLA he finished my HK! @thakuya is quick, clean, gentle and amazing!!!!Follow them on IG. I got a tattoo by Tha Kuya back in April. He is amazingly talented. Just give him an idea of what you want and let him work his magic. I loved how he explained the history behind why his idea made sense. Despite being so awesome, he is very humble. He's a kind soul, patient and funny! Everyone at the shop and his visitors were friendly, nice and funny! It made the time go by very quickly and was a good distraction for the pain. I highly recommend this place.
