Went in to the shop cold and met Pat. Gave him a poorly drawn idea and he said he needed some time to work it out into something useable. Went back on the appointed date and he went over options and showed me what my idea could be. He made some really expert suggestions on placement, colors, etc. then he made adjustments for my pickiness and went to work. The results are far beyond what my idea was as its best. Trevor and Nikki will forever be my tattoo artists. My dad and stepmom go to him also. I was around when Nikki first started tattooing. I remember her drawing awesome designs on shoes, she's very talented. They are both amazing artists and the nicest people! Always professional and make sure the client is happy. I give them mediocre pictures of ideas I want and they turn it into perfect masterpieces! Nikki has done a tattoo on my back, that I love! Trevor has done two tattoos on my arm, to start my sleeve. The man that peirced my nose was very knowledgeable and professional. He gave me the supplies and information for after care and even wrote it down. The place was very clean, and their tattoo art that I have seen is beautiful. Also, for the peircing they use surgical grade metals! All of this for a reasonable price as well. Unfortunately this shop didn't work out for us.  When my tattoo guy moved out of state I was forced to start the search for someone new.  After months of looking through reviews on yelp, facebook and references from friends I narrowed it down to this shop.  I called and asked to set up an appointment and was told that I needed to come in and put down a cash deposit before an appointment could be made.  Perfect!  My Mom also wanted some work done so we went over to put our deposit down yesterday.  Walked in said hi to the guy behind the counter and told him we would like to make some tattoo appointments.  I asked what the hourly rate was and I don't know if that question was the trigger or if they are just not interested in new clients but from there on out I was lectured on how he had been getting that question for 20 some odd years and it all depends on the tattoo and he wouldn't know until he drew it up and did I have a picture because a picture is worth a thousand words....WHAT?  Wow, I never ask how much my tattoo was going to cost.  I simply asked the hourly rate, I completely understand that all tattoos are different.  I have never felt more unwelcome than at that moment.  My search continues.. I got an Industrial bar piercing here, the little shop was nice with cool stuff to look at as I waited. They were all extremely kind and professional from the start.When the bar was all sterilized and ready to go he explained very clearly everything I needed to know about care for it and ect.Then the piercing.....ouchNot going to lie I totally puked after... I was soooo embarrassed.BUT everyone was extremely kind making sure I was okay, fan, water, cool towel for my neck. (my own husband even wasn't about to come near me after seeing the piercing and puke haha!!!)Honestly, if I get embarrassed I usually wont ever show my face there again, just to avoid being remembered as that girl. However this time just by how well they handled it I would have no problem going back again, and I probably will. Definitely an interesting way to spend my 25th birthday but i'm glad a did! I've gotten three tattoos from this place in the course of 4 years, I don't think I could trust anybody else with my skin canvas. I've brought Trevor pictures of animals from the internet and its almost as if he Xeroxed it onto my skin! He is an incredible artist and is usually booked for a few weeks but his talent is totally worth the wait. Not to mention, this place just seems very clean. They have all their current blood borne pathogen testing and course work completed credentials displayed, they wash up and change gloves after a break, and you see all the needles being taken out of a sealed package. I've never been to this place before because I thought I found an artist for life however that guy did me dirty and this place was recommended to me by my boyfriend.... let me tell you..THANK THE SWEET BABY JESUS!!Trevor is who he told me to see. I went in and Trevor was busy tattooing someone but said he'd speak with us on a break. After a little while, he took a break and we spoke. He is very professional and a very nice guy. I booked an appointment with him almost immediately.Came in on the day of my appointment a little early. I guess you can say I was excited. Lol. He wasn't there yet but walked in a couple of mins after I did. He drew my tattoos out. The area I wanted to fill was a tiny bit of a placement challenge but nothing he couldn't handle. For my daughter's third birthday, she decided she wanted to get her ears pierced. We warned her it would hurt, but she said she was up for it. So, my wife began calling around to different body piercing establishments to find one that would pierce a three-year-old's ears. Sure, we could've just gone to some place like Claire's, but we wanted to make sure we went to a professional and it was done correctly and sterily. Most everywhere we called said they did not pierce ears for children our daughter's age because it's too difficult. Colorbomb, however, was up for the challenge and said they it's something they do regularly. So, on the evening of my little girl's birthday, we headed over to the shop get the deed done. I guess other people had the same idea, too, because there were a couple other families who showed up not long after us to get their young children's ears pierced. It was like a Kindergarten Ear Piercing Party up in that place!Both my wife and I were totally impressed with what a great experience it was, not to mention how reasonable the price. Our daughter's ears were pierced by Brett, who was a total pro and he took time to make sure everything was sterile and the job was done correctly. Our girl was a brave little trooper, though she began crying pretty hard after the first ear was done. We had to make sure she didn't squirm when Brett tackled the second one, and his skill allowed him to get it finished quickly and accurately.The staff at Colorbomb has been through this plenty of times before, and they warned us ahead of time that we would need to restrain our daughter during the process, which we were fine with. The thing is, she cried so much she ended up causing herself to throw up (though she still turned her head to have her second ear pierced!). Brett was totally unfazed by the throw-up and the entire crew there was really nice about it.Once my daughter was cleaned up and took a look in the mirror at her new earrings, she was beaming and came out of the bathroom with a smile. "Look at my pretty ears." She was proud of how great they looked and was grinning ear to ear as we walked out of Colorbomb.Brett gave us clear directions on how to care for her ears so the piercings didn't get infected, and I'm happy to say that we have had no problems at all. But if we did, he left his his phone number and said to call so he could have her come in and take care of any issues. We appreciate him going the extra mile in customer service. I went to Colorbomb by pure chance. I really wanted to impulsively get a tattoo & decided to cruise El Cajon & stop in random tattoo shops. Luckily for me- this was the first place I stopped. Trevor was awesome from the second we walked in until the second we left. I was immediately impressed that he was willing to take me right that moment & go home late. He spent like 45 mins just sketching the tattoo I described I wanted to perfection. He gave me his input & used my vision to make it much more than I had even imagined. I was very impressed with his artwork not to mention he's just a straight up nice guy. He's also light handed which was awesome for me since the tattoo was on my rib cage. It healed very nicely & barely even scabbed or flaked but looks beautiful & vibrant. Highly, highly recommended. Thanks Trevor!!! P.S. If you ever need a piercing or tattoo colorbomb is the place to go! The first time I went there was 10 years ago to get my first piercing when I was 15. I still go there to get my tats and piercings. I just an industrial bar in my ear and had Brett take care of me. It was really clean in the shop, and the artists are really cool. They have great designs to choose from for tattoos, and they come out great. Brett is the man to go to for your peircings. He s only at the shop until 9, but I would definately reccomend going to Color Bomb for you tattoo, piercings, or supplies. They have so much to choose from in terms of jewelery, and Im excited for when I can change out my bar and accessories :] Of course pain is involed in a tat or piercing, but thats part of the experience haha.
