Leaving this review in hopes that anyone who finds it as a professional reference for Blue/Mason (whatever he goes by) can be tipped off in time before actually engaging with him... This guy is as unprofessional as they come and he has a rep for it for a reason - he doesn't think twice about your safety or well being as a client. I had originally found this place on yelp and at the time I was excited to go in for a tattoo coloring until I actually got there... This dude was yelling (I mean YELLING) at the other employees he worked with and his professional conduct towards his clients (myself included) was embarrassing to be around... so uncomfortable... I'm SO GLAD I DID NOT LET HIM TOUCH MY BODY because honestly he's a creep in every way. Yuck

Blue and Mason suck. They charged me a large deposit and then never performed work, no matter how many visits and calls. Everyone I spoke with after says the same. Scams. A lot more going on in that shop then just tattoos. Dirty too.

Came in here on Sunday April 9th as a walk in. I was in San Diego for my bachelorette party and thought hey let's go get tattoos like typical white girls. We chose this place because we googled it and this seemed to be the highest rated place around. Tommy was super friendly and his shop was clean. He did an amazing job on me and my friend. I would for sure return to him for another tattoo!

Had dermals put in and was guaranteed to fix for life. Now that one's rejecting, I can't get an answer on the phone and mailbox is full. He did 5 total and I need 2 redone but don't want to repay a ne...
Had dermals put in and was guaranteed to fix for life. Now that one's rejecting, I can't get an answer on the phone and mailbox is full. He did 5 total and I need 2 redone but don't want to repay a new piercer what Blue should redo. I paid several hundred bucks and was rescheduled a couple times by Blue. I just want my dermals fixed as promised.

Great shop, went looking for a tattoo and after visiting a few other shops I found Blue Tattoo Cafe. Right off the bat I was greeted by Joel and later by Blue. Both guys were really easy going and we talked about growing up in San Diego. My artist Joel did an amazing job on my piece, as well as started talking about the next piece I'll be getting as well. I've been in a few tattoo shops this one had a great vibe and awesome people. This is a shop that I will most definitely come back to when I'm in town.

I had my tattoo designed and done by Tommy Chong, and I absolutely love it. This was my first tattoo and I was nervous about it, but he was so great and has such a calming, and light hearted attitude....
I had my tattoo designed and done by Tommy Chong, and I absolutely love it. This was my first tattoo and I was nervous about it, but he was so great and has such a calming, and light hearted attitude. I gave the description of what I wanted in my tattoo to Mason one evening when I visited and was told that when Tommy was done with it, I'd get a call.
I was nervous on what to expect, since it was my first...but when I went to see the sketch... I absolutely fell in love and realized that it was so much more than I had envisioned, and was ready to do it then and there, but of course I had to set up a time to come in and all that.
Tommy was great, we had two sessions, one for the outline then one for the coloring. We talked, listened to music and I felt comfortable the whole time.
This place is great and Tommy is awesome!!!

Leaving this review in hopes that anyone who finds it as a professional reference for Blue/Mason (whatever he goes by) can be tipped off in time before actually engaging with him... This guy is as unprofessional as they come and he has a rep for it for a reason - he doesn't think twice about your safety or well being as a client. We chose this place because we googled it and this seemed to be the highest rated place around. Tommy was super friendly and his shop was clean. He did an amazing job on me and my friend. I would for sure return to him for another tattoo!

Great shop, went looking for a tattoo and after visiting a few other shops I found Blue Tattoo Cafe. Right off the bat I was greeted by Joel and later by Blue. Both guys were really easy going and we talked about growing up in San Diego. My artist Joel did an amazing job on my piece, as well as started talking about the next piece I'll be getting as well. I've been in a few tattoo shops this one had a great vibe and awesome people. This is a shop that I will most definitely come back to when I'm in town.
