John re-pierced my ears because I had them done years ago and they had closed up and were uneven. He didn't use a piercing gun like at Claire's, he quickly twisted them in. There wasn't any blood or anything. It was relatively painless. It's been a week and they are healing up great. The backing is flat so they are easy to sleep on. I am really happy with them. Decided on a whim that I wanted a double nose piercing and called the Tattoo Lab to ask if I could walk in! John was available and said come in, and I felt comfortable going to him since he did my friends rook piercing a couple months prior. He finished up on my nose (bled like a stuck pig because I insisted on a hoop instead of stud), and then asked if he could pierce my left ear too! I left and came back a few minutes later and when I asked, "can you poke more holes in me?" His response was "F$&k yeah!" The place is sanitary and there's a big selection of jewelry. Not happy.. I got my conch piercing here and the guy didn't even know what that is. I had to show him a picture. It was $50. I expected him to walk me through it and tell me when he was going to pierce but he didn't say anything. A few months later after it's healed I try to change the jewelry and I can't take it off, the ball wouldn't unscrew. So I call and it turns out they use a certain type of jewelry that needs a tool to remove. I have never had this type before even when I got my navel pierced at the same place. I never gave them permission to use that type nor did they tell me. At to make it worse they charge $25 just to remove that ball! That's half the price of the piercing. Removing it only takes 30 seconds MAX. I went to a different place and got it removed for only $10. I wont be back to Tatto Lab. You shouldn't go either unless you want to get scammed. Read Less

I've come to Tattoo Lab a number of times to get most of my tattoos and refer my friends there to get theirs as well, but I'm not making that mistake again. I had an appointment with John, and brought my friend who wanted a really small, dainty tattoo. I asked if he possibly had time to squeeze her in since she didn't have an appointment and he said yes because he didn't have any other appointments that day. Once I was in there with him, and he put the stencil on, I wasn't sure he had the right idea of what I wanted on my body. I was unsure and I wanted to show him some more pictures to get a better idea, considering whatever he does is going to be on my body forever. So I asked if we could reschedule so I could get him a clearer version of what I wanted. He said alright and then proceeded to turn into a 15 year old girl right in front of my eyes. First I asked my friend if she still wanted to get hers and he said "I can't now, I'm really busy." OKAY lol. Then, while I was still getting dressed he turned off the lights in his part of the shop and started shutting down. I couldn't believe how unprofessional he was. I was trying to end on a good note and give him the benefit of the doubt and said that I'll come back tomorrow so we could reschedule to which he replied "Fuck that." John is simply amazing!!! I came to tattoo lab a while back because I needed my forward helix piercing changed and I couldn't do it myself. I walked in and was taken right away. He is EXTREMELY knowledgeable and will ease any nerves you may have about a new place. He is so friendly and accommodating. I have come here about 3 more times for piercing changes and he is so quick and painless each time!!I came in spontaneously on a lunch break and got a piercing by him and again, quick and (not so) painless but that's to be expected when getting pierced. I called and asked about my piercing because this morning my piercing in my nose fell out and I did EVERYTHING to get it back in! I thought the hole closed inside and I couldn't get it back in so I thought I had to get it re-pierced :( I was super skeptical about coming in to tattoo lab I actually found them through yelp too. Woke up wanting my tragus love pierced . So I looked up the closest and best ranked tattoo shop by me. Tattoo Lab is located by three sheets craft beer in the plaza next door . I called them the same day and they were able to take me in an hour after I called :) so I went in and John took care of me . He told me about all the risks of piercings and how to keep it clean; all the do's and don't's. He's very informative and really patient with all my questions since I never had a piercing from a tattoo shop before.. I always had it done at Clair's  Anyways, as I was waiting for my appointment... I felt even more spontaneous and wanted a small tattoo since my birthday had just passed and I didn't get myself anything nice . Soooo I looked up some tattoo and came across a symbol that really related to how I was feeling lately lol. I asked if they allow walk ins and they do . :) he toldMe he can do it for me at 3pm which was an hour after my piercing appointment . Sure ! Fine by meeee :) He did the tattoo in like 5-10 minutes . Got my nose pierced and it was quick easy and painless. I walked in and out of the shop within a span of 15 minutes. Unfortunately I didn't get the name of the gentleman who pierced me yet he was very professional and experienced. I have a phobia of needles and he assured me that it would be quick and he was right. I don't like writing reviews, let alone bad ones, but I had an exceptionally terrible experience with John. I went in to get my nose pierced and John seemed fine to begin with. To be fair, he did do a fine job with the piercing. It was well placed and painless. My issue comes after. I had a problem with the piercing and I went back in just to ask for some help and advice. I never once criticized John's work. I knew that he had done nothing wrong with the piercing. My issue wasn't with his work. I wanted help with something that was specifically bothering me about the jewelry. I explained my issue, but John was immediately belligerent and rude. He started talking down to me and was sarcastic and ignoring what I was saying. Then he started yelling at me when I tried to explain again. Other people in the shop started staring at John because he was yelling and throwing things at this point. The owner was there so I told him John's behavior was rude and unacceptable and he just apologized and said he couldn't do anything. As John got angrier, he got louder and started throwing things and kicking things around him so I just got out of there. As I left, he yelled at me to go ahead and write a 'shitty review online'. At the time, I had no intention of doing so, but you know what? That's a great idea. If I'd known what John was like, I would have gone somewhere else. I've come here multiple times for tattoo's and piercings.   My review is based on my last experience. I showed the artist the Banksy piece called girl with a balloon. He was going to draw up the stencil and had me come back in an hour.  When I came back he put it on and tattooed me.  After he was done I realized that he didn't actually print Banksy's piece.  He tattooed some want to be artist trying to draw and replicate the real art.  how do you even make this type of mistake?  I will never be coming here again. Came here with a friend to get her cartilage pierced. Costed $50 and no choice in what earring you get. I wanted to watch my friend get it done but the guy didn't really give us any warning. Before we both knew it the earring was in. The main issue was that the backing fell off while we were out of the country. We went to a local piercing shop there to see if we could find a replacement. They didn't have a similar backing so instead we had to re-pierce my friend's ear there. When they pulled out the earring it was a CURVED piercing, not a straight one. We were both shocked as we thought it would be a straight one (I had one before and it was straight). The worker was told us the shop we went to messed up as no one pierces with a curved one in a cartilage... no wonder it hurt so much when she tried twisting the earring...I was going to get my cartilage re pierced here but after seeing my friend, definitely finding somewhere else. I started looking around for someone who could make my concept come to life, and found Dan's portfolio on the website. I tried to call a few times and couldn't get through, so I went into the shop. Dan was very accommodating and spent a good amount of time with me discussing the piece. We set up a time right there and then over the next few weeks communicated via email to finalize the design. If i could give Gabe zero stars, I would.  Guess i am going to have to keep looking for a good tattoo artist.  He charged way too much.  I was planning on doing a sleeve on my arm.  Trees wrapping the arm. A couple mountains and an Aspen on the inside of my arm.  After sitting in the shop for 3 hours Gabe finally started.  He is very friendly up front but talks way too much.  And that would be fine but he stops  constantly to tell stories. And at the end of the night five and a half hours later he only finished about two thirds of what he said he would but still charged me for all of the time. One of the trees is crooked.  Just too unprofessional.  So i found a new artist and called to cancel with Gabe.  He was a total and complete prick.  WOW, no more nice guy.  He told me that my tattoo should be 3-4 thousand dollars in the city.  Well Gabe you're not in the city, nor are you on any tattoo reality tv shows.  When I told him that means 6-8 thousand dollars for a full sleeve he just shrugged. The space is pretty cool. They're very serious and professional. I was scared getting a tattoo here because it was not my normal spot. They were kind and friendly. The tattoo process is super private and I love how closed off it is rather than being out in the open. My friend and I got matching tattoos here, he matched them perfectly and adjusted colors due to our skin color differences. My friend and I are wheelchair bound and he walked us out and actually helped lift us in the car to help us out. I would definitely come back here for small pieces. Dan is awesome! He did a touch up on my foot/ankle a couple of days ago. He has a great chair-side manner and comforting voice. He checked on me often, asking if I was okay or needed a break...'cause as they say, foot tattoos are not for pussies. But my tattoo looks awesome, and it hasn't been painful at all. I don't have any tattoos myself but I teach art for a living and I can certainly appreciate art and critique it. What really impresses me about this shop though is their appreciation for customer service. The owner takes pride in creating a comfortable atmosphere where the customers will be treated with the same respect and patience that should expected of any business that interacts with the public. He also holds his shop to a high ethical standard and encourages his clients to make thoughtful decisions when choosing their artwork. It is cash only but they do have an ATM in the shop. He does allow his contractor artists to use the square card readers so you may want to figure out which artist you want to work with before you pull out wads of cash. Read Less

I just got my first tattoo here by Dan and he was so amazing! I had low blood sugar so at the beginning of the tattoo, I fainted... then puked... but he was incredibly comforting, told me to take my time, and gave me candy to help get my strength back. He was very low pressure and a few minutes later I gave him the ok to finish the tattoo. All in all, I was really comfortable and got a perfect tattoo! Thanks Dan! Read Less

My 10 year old wanted to get her ears pierced and I didn't want an inexperienced girl with a multi use gun at the mall and possibly getting an infection.
