Today I got my first tattoo as a birthday gift to myself at Raygun tattoo which was a recommendation from a person at my gym. Best recommendation ever. I was fortunate to have Craig answer the phone when I first called Raygun to ask about the whole tattooing process. He answered all my questions and provided valuable information to make a decision to move forward in getting my first tattoo. I scheduled a consultation since I had no clue on what design I wanted. After the consultation We kind of figured out what my theme would be but I needed to do a little homework. After researching on the internet I found the designs I wanted and contacted Craig to request for him to integrated the designs to the final design - which was awesome and everyone that I showed the design loved it.  As this was my first tattoo I was really nervous and didn't know what to expect. But luckily Craig explained the whole process from A to Z and made me more at ease as we approached the start of inking my skin. Craig is very knowledgeable, very skilled and professional. Raygun is very professional and clean tattoo shop. Ryan, one of the owners just finished my tattoo last night. He has helped me from start to finish in this entire process. I got a very large tattoo which was completed in 4 sessions. Their equipment is top notch, from their tattoo guns to their bandages that they use. Ryan has a very light hand. He does all styles of art work and is expert in all. This place is awesome. I live in the neighborhood and so when I was ready for a new tattoo I dropped by Raygun. After looking through a couple of artist portfolios I chose Ryan. So glad I did. It's been around for about 25 years and the Christy Brothers are pretty much canonized as the most trusted, talented, cutting edge, safest, coolest, most honest and solid establishment of its kind. We are very proud of our Homegrown Goodness right here where we can claim it's ours. It even pulls such a good crowd which pretty much mirrors the stand-up guys those Christy Brothers are.so, I have had my work done there (IS there anywhere else??), my entire family soon followed (brother, sister-in law, husband (x-husband now, although the one thing we can agree on is Raygun! And yes, we had our cover ups which are just as kick-ass, were done there), my Nana has her little tattoo done by my favorite Christy Brother, and countless friends (and strangers!) have ended up spoiled by having their work done at the Vatican of tattoo parlors. No, they won't make you kiss their ring. But they welcome confessions, hahaha! Okay, all joking aside, I have really high standards and don't recommend places often. You've got to be this good to yourself and just start and end with the best. Don't bother going anywhere else. Two generations of my family have trusted Raygun and The Christy Brothers with our loved ones and the third generation is planning on continuing the tradition this year. They are a household name and a local gem. When have you ever heard that about a tattoo parlor? Do you need to take chances anywhere else?If I managed this place, I would raise their prices and still be turning folks away, or at least booking months in advance and picking only clients who appreciate them as much as I do.. Had a fusion of Indian inca/native American headress with a beautiful woman on my shoulder! So beautiful i wish i was able to post the picture!  Of course the customer service showed me much integrity.  Craig the owner delighted me. Got my first tattoo last Saturday and couldn't be more impressed with Raygun, specifically Craig and Andrew. I had no idea what I was looking for, what to expect or where to go with my idea for my first one.  After visiting a couple shops in the area, I decided to venture down the 5 to Dana Point to check out Raygun --based 1st on a tip from a local pet store cashier and also great online reviews. I couldn't be more pleased with my experience from the time my empty/bare virgin skin entered the shop. After talking with Andrew about my idea, I set a future appointment with Craig. Professionalism, courtesy, respect, patience and acceptance are all things that come to mind when I look back at my experience. I've been frequenting Raygun Tattoo for nearly ten years now. Craig and Ryan are awesome artists and have been operating/managing this professional studio for many years.  The staff is knowledgable, friendly, and they collaborate well with the clientele to ensure each tattoo is correctly designed and is perfect match for each client. Ryan has worked many hours on my tattoos and takes time to create a unique design each visit. I prefer color in my tattoos and Ryan has done a great job with creating images that really "pop" on my skin tone. People are often surprised that some of my tattoos are as old as they are considering how brilliant the color looks in them. Went in after hearing some good things from some friends. Craig was my artist. I brought him a few pictures that I wanted blended into a unique tattoo and he was able to create the design in front of me during the consultation in about 5 minutes. The design was great and Craig did an awesome job at the ink. He made sure to go at a pace that was good for me and the pain was very minimal. Overall, it turned out awesome. Craig did a tattoo in memory of my daughter who had a love for dolphins and the ocean.  When I presented him with my ideas he came up with a drawing that represented what I was looking for.  As I waited the 2 weeks to have the coloring done I could never have imagined how awesome this would come out.  It is just beautiful and people have already complimented it.  I know my daughter would give this tattoo a 2 thumbs up! I love my tattoos! I've had 6 tattoos done by Ryan... sadly, it just occurred me to write a review on yelp (shame on me!). This place is great, Ryan goes above and beyond when taking all proper safety precautions. His shop is clean and fun and you'll never get bored sitting in the chair, between the chit chat and looking around at all the cool oddities on the shop walls! Ryan took my ideas and was able to create exactly what I wanted. He was patient with trying different placements until I was completely satisfied and his work is amazing!
