I drive 5 hours for Kristina! 2 years and 6-7 tattoos later, I finally am tech savvy enough to leave a review for Sugar City and the fan-freaking-tastic Kristina. I live about 5 hours from her shop, but drive down specifically for her art; (it's permanent, y'all).I love her botanical and floral aesthetic; her background in flowers shows through in the natural and organic lines.Her shop is clean, hygienic and friendly. The vibe is super chill and welcoming. I have delicate skin and bony gawkiness, and she's conscientious about about my skin pressure. She's also incredibly focused and detailed; we cover a lot of area each sitting. I heart sugar city. :)

My tattoo is beautiful, definitely the best work I've had done. Kristina was not only talented but also very quick and gentle! Every time I've visited Kristina and Sorin have been friendly and doing epic work. The shop is also comfortable and you get a lot of personalized attention. This is not a place to pick out a flash piece, it's where you get your dream tattoo. I will be going back.

This place will always be my favorite tattoo shop. Even as the artists has changed over the years I am always beyond pleased with every piece I've gotten here.I had an appointment yesterday with Sorin who is amazing. He is professional and knowledgeable and made sure to give me all the info I needed regarding care and what to expect long term for my knuckle tattoo. Thanks Sorin for an amazing experience and I look forward to coming back for my next piece.

I have known Kristina for almost a year, she first hired one of my companies to take her and some friends on a wine tour through Napa. She's a good tipper and wonderful person. Sharp as can be. She's quite hilarious. We have driven her and her friends a few times now. She's tattooed my better half who doesn't have a yelp and she loves the tattoo. Beautiful design and clean lines. I'll add a picture later. It's a Memorial piece. I would recommend her for the following types of tattoos, linework, traditional, flowers, and Japanese styles that I've seen on her instagram.

Kristina and Sorin are phenomenally talented tattoo artists. I have spoken with both of them and have been thoroughly satisfied with my interactions with them. I am currently working with Kristina on an addition to a pre-existing tattoo and am so impressed with her work ethic, flexibility, scheduling, and not to mention her art work. I loved our consultation and am loving our appointments. I've recommended this shop to my friends and will continue to do so!

In response to the 1 star rating, I would have to disagree. They tattoo many people from Crockett with large ongoing projects, as well as small tattoos. Generally, they are booked out a couple of weeks, so walk-ins aren't normally available.
I am aware that there was a "Shane" trying to apply at the studio, not sure if its the same person.
I have been coming here for years, I have gotten tattooed by the previous owners, as well as the new owners.
Friendly, honest, and humble people. The shop is mostly by appointment only but if you call ahead of time Kristina and Sorin are more than happy to meet you at the shop since they live near and locally to the studio.
This isn't an ordinary tattoo shop. Custom tattoos, great speedy response by email, and walk you through the steps for regular clients and as well as new clients.

Highly recommend Kristine for her amazing talent as a tattoo artist! She not only completely transformed a botched tattoo that I received years ago from a guy claiming to be a tattoo artist, but she was able turn it into a piece of deeply meaningful artwork that exceeded all my expectations. SORIN at Sugar City is totally awesome. I have been tattooed by three people in my life and he is hands-down the BEST tattoo artist I have ever met. His artwork is amazing and he translates art into tattoo, which makes for beautiful pieces on the human body. I have received plentiful of compliments on my tattoos from him... I feel like his walking canvas! ** Forgot to mention that he covered up an old tattoo and replaced it with an amazing carnation.**Not only is his artistry something to Yelp about, but his bedside manner and conscientious customer service is not relative to the sometimes-brash persona of a tattoo artist. He is humble, kind & overall a super nice guy!I just want to say, "Thank you!!!" Also... A huge compliment to Sugar City in general... The people who work there are so nice and the shop is the nicest I've seen around here.

Monica Painter is an extremely talented artist...we did three 4-5 hour sessions over a three month period for a Disney Evil Queen themed tattoo I wanted on my entire upper back. Monica did a beautiful job and I'm extremely pleased! I get stopped a lot by people who want a look at it or even snap a photo of it and each and every person who's seen it has noted her very crisp lines, outstanding artistry, rich colors, and detail! Monica is amazing, you won't be disappointed!

Every time I've visited Kristina and Sorin have been friendly and doing epic work. The shop is also comfortable and you get a lot of personalized attention. I have known Kristina for almost a year, she first hired one of my companies to take her and some friends on a wine tour through Napa. She's a good tipper and wonderful person. Sharp as can be.
