WOW!! I could not be more impressed with my experience here. I really have to give the biggest shout out to my artist Brian!! If you are coming here I strongly suggest you choose him. He is so talented it's ridiculous. He really takes the time to make sure that every detail is perfect and that everything is symmetrical and balanced. He perfectly encapsulated everything I could have wanted out of these tattoos and I genuinely could not be happier with the way that they turned out. Im completely obsessed and I'm definitely going to be coming back! Thank you Brian!!

I used to really like this place, especially since they do walk-ins. I've gotten tattooed by Jake, Beebo, and Brian. I highly recommend you don't see Brian though because I recently learned he has a reputation for ghosting his clients for second appointments to finish pieces. He did a great job with one of my pieces, but when it came to the second one, he was super unprofessional. I paid him in full ($400) during the first appointment, and he cancelled/rescheduled on me twice to finish the work. I tried to get a refund but he gave me some bullshit answer, and never responded after I texted him again to finish it. It's a shame, he's a good artist but is super unprofessional. I would give this a one star review but the other artists there are good and don't deserve it.

INSANE ARTIST TALENT ALERT: Jake did an incredible realistic diamond on my forearm. It's an understatement when I say it is absolutely MIND BLOWING. Yeah, we all know how played out diamonds are. Every Tom, Dick and Brosef in Orange County has a traditional style diamond somewhere on their body, along a nautical star of course. Throw in an octopus, bright red skin and shoot, you've got yourself a classic OC basic b! But you know what? Diamonds are my birthstone. Diamonds are also tough, one of the strongest elements on our planet. So after going through a ton of bullsh*t this year, it was tattoo therapy time. Jake came up with my concept and absolutely exceeded all expectations. His line work, eye for color, realism, along with a gentle hand and NO DRY WIPING (the worst) makes him the unicorn of all tattoo artists. He's now my new guy down here. My main dude is in SF, and now I have Jake here in southern CA so I don't have to travel far anymore when I need a little artistic pain. He's my new main dude.A lot of tattoo artists have a heavy hand, which sucks for chicks bc you get that perma bruise around a zap, just bc some artist can't wrap his head around the fact that chicks are smaller than dudes and simply don't need the level of pressure equivalent to the jaw PSI of a pitbull to get the job done.Jake is the man, he's it, swing through and you'll be set. Hands down. He's got you.

Love this place! I have a lot of small tattoos and this is the first place that didn't treat my small tattoos as small and insignificant jobs. I met Brian the first time I came in and he's seriously the best! No matter how big or small the tattoo, he genuinely cares about what he's drawing on you. He's super knowledgeable and easy to chat with. They sometimes get busy and you might have to wait but that's the drill when you are wanting the best to ink your body!

Awesome shop! I was looking for something intricate like a flower bouquet on my forearm. Brian and the rest of the staff listened to what I was saying and we came up with something absolutely beautiful and in my price range. I had originally gone to gold Rush tattoo and they we're very old school and wanted to use thick lines and old looking flower shapes and just didn't really seem interested in what I was saying. so I left and went to Newport tattoo to see Brian and I am so glad I did!!!! Super happy!

I absolutely love this place and want to give a shout out to my favorite artist, Brian. He has done 4 tattoos for me and I would never go to anyone else. He is amazing at what he does and makes the experience awesome with his kindness and humor. He has become a great friend in the time we've spent together. The tattoos he's done for me are extremely meaningful for me and meticulously well done. I am so grateful. He never cuts corners and gives each project the care and attention it deserves. Thanks, Brian!!! The picture I've attached here was taken immediately after completion. I am so impressed and happy with the result!

So, this is the only tattoo shop I've ever gone into or worked with so I don't have a lot to compare it to.. But I had a great experience here at Newport Tattoo. I dropped by for a walk in on a Sunday...
So, this is the only tattoo shop I've ever gone into or worked with so I don't have a lot to compare it to.. But I had a great experience here at Newport Tattoo. I dropped by for a walk in on a Sunday afternoon and the shop was pretty slow so we were in and out within maybe 30 minutes (most of this time was me having them reposition or redraw the design due to my indecisiveness). I just got a small cross tattoo on my wrist, so nothing too intricate or anything. Jake is the one who did my tattoo and I love the way it looks! It was my first tattoo and I really appreciated how he took the time to explain everything to me and let me watch him set up and whatnot. He had a very calming presence and I didn't feel nervous at all once I was in the chair. Also, he was super patient with me having him redraw/resize/reposition until I felt like it was all right. I can't say a lot for pricing as it was such a simple tattoo that they charged me the minimum of $80. I don't really know how this compares, so not too much to say about that. I would definitely go back in the future & would recommend them if you're looking for someone to do your next tattoo.

Today, i went to Newport for a staycation. I spontaneously walked into Newport Tattoo to see if it was possible to re-pierce my belly button. I met Ryan and he did a through consultation, which made me feel really comfortable. I got my top and bottom belly button re-pierced. I was a little nervous because of the scar tissue. Ryan did my piercings and he was amazing! It went so smoothly and way easier than expected. He killed it and it looks better than before. I will definitely be back for more piercings by him in the future!

I came in yesterday after checking this shop out for a couple years. I had a correction that needed to be done as well as a new koi design. I had that tattoo itch. I wasn't prepared to spend the 1 k on my Koi just yet. Allot of artists don't want to work on someone's piece, however when I walked in yesterday all three artists approached me and after looking decided Samurai was the best to help me out. He was amazing, professional, sterile and we has a good time talking. He TRULY went above and beyond, and I can't wait for him to do my Koi some day. Shout out to you Samurai!!!!!

All I can say is when you get here you just feel it. You just know. We were greeted 💁 as though we were Family. "Bryan Brian Brian, I can't thank you enough!!!" I'm in love with my tattoo🤘 It's only been 3 days and the compliments are pouring in. Not that it matters... I just want anyone thinking about getting a tattoo to know that BRYAN is your Guy 💪Tons of Experience, SUPER friendly and patient. He knows his 💩 Will bend over backwards to make sure you leave happy. He's more than a ridiculously talented Artist🖌📸, I think he's a nice Guy too. I can't even begin to express how happy I am with the tattoo I got from Brian from Newport Tattoo in Costa Mesa!!! Very Clean shop.. they happily greet everyone who walks in the door even if they are busy with a client... the tattoo I had done was on the the 1 year anniversary of my mother's death from Cancer... I sent Brian a picture of what I wanted and explained the meaning behind it.. he was kind and compassionate about what I wanted.. it turned out perfect.. exactly like... I wanted.. he took the time needed to get it just right.. and it really seened to be as important to him to get it exactly right as it was to me.. Amazing work!! I have gotten so many compliments on it already and it's only been 2 days!!! Healing nicely... I highly.. highly recommend this shop!!! I am partial to Brian, but the other artists were friendly, treated their clients very well, they left as happy with their tattoos as I was with mine!!! I will for sure be getting more done there!!! I ended up at this tattoo parlor after the first one I went to was too busy at the time for me and the three friends I was with who were also going to get tattooed. We called the shop and they told us to come on down! We got there and it was such a cool little shop and all of the artists there were so welcoming and made us all feel very comfortable. I got tattooed by Mike who was super nice and got everything moving along quickly. He did a great job on my tattoo and the other tattoo my friend got. I live about 6 hours away from this shop but I know that when I want my next tattoo it'll be worth the drive.

So, i guess this is a new location and seeing as how i visited the other one this one is much different. when i went to see the newport tattoo down near the beach, they seemed rude and rather stuck up, not to mention they wanted to over charge me. I went to this location because a friend had recently had a tattoo done there and i trusted her judgement. This location is much cleaner and they were much more welcoming. We were wak ins and we each had a piece done. I had Ryan, and he was really patient considering it was my first tattoo and i decided on the back of my ribs.

Love this place! I have a lot of small tattoos and this is the first place that didn't treat my small tattoos as small and insignificant jobs. I came in yesterday after checking this shop out for a couple years. I had a correction that needed to be done as well as a new koi design. I had that tattoo itch. I wasn't prepared to spend the 1 k on my Koi just yet. Allot of artists don't want to work on someone's piece, however when I walked in yesterday all three artists approached me and after looking decided Samurai was the best to help me out. He was amazing, professional, sterile and we has a good time talking. He TRULY went above and beyond, and I can't wait for him to do my Koi some day. Shout out to you Samurai!!!!!

All I can say is when you get here you just feel it. You just know. We were greeted 💁 as though we were Family. "Bryan Brian Brian, I can't thank you enough!!!" I'm in love with my tattoo🤘 It's only been 3 days and the compliments are pouring in. Not that it matters... I just want anyone thinking about getting a tattoo to know that BRYAN is your Guy 💪Tons of Experience, SUPER friendly and patient. He knows his 💩 Will bend over backwards to make sure you leave happy. He's more than a ridiculously talented Artist🖌📸, I think he's a nice Guy too. I can't even begin to express how happy I am with the tattoo I got from Brian from Newport Tattoo in Costa Mesa!!! Very Clean shop.. they happily greet everyone who walks in the door even if they are busy with a client... the tattoo I had done was on the the 1 year anniversary of my mother's death from Cancer... I sent Brian a picture of what I wanted and explained the meaning behind it.. he was kind and compassionate about what I wanted.. it turned out perfect.. exactly like... I wanted.. he took the time needed to get it just right.. and it really seened to be as important to him to get it exactly right as it was to me.. Amazing work!! I have gotten so many compliments on it already and it's only been 2 days!!! Healing nicely... I highly.. highly recommend this shop!!! I am partial to Brian, but the other artists were friendly, treated their clients very well, they left as happy with their tattoos as I was with mine!!! I will for sure be getting more done there!!! Took the time to draw up an idea for a tattoo on my back of my Siamese cat "Mason" who passed away a few years ago. I will definitely have my tattoo done here. They take the time to work with you for exactly what you want.

I ended up at this tattoo parlor after the first one I went to was too busy at the time for me and the three friends I was with who were also going to get tattooed. We called the shop and they told us to come on down! We got there and it was such a cool little shop and all of the artists there were so welcoming and made us all feel very comfortable. I got tattooed by Mike who was super nice and got everything moving along quickly. He did a great job on my tattoo and the other tattoo my friend got. I live about 6 hours away from this shop but I know that when I want my next tattoo it'll be worth the drive.

So, i guess this is a new location and seeing as how i visited the other one this one is much different. when i went to see the newport tattoo down near the beach, they seemed rude and rather stuck up, not to mention they wanted to over charge me. I went to this location because a friend had recently had a tattoo done there and i trusted her judgement. This location is much cleaner and they were much more welcoming. We were wak ins and we each had a piece done. I had Ryan, and he was really patient considering it was my first tattoo and i decided on the back of my ribs.
