Where to start. First, the place has a great vibe , decor is excellent and the bathroom has a great mural. The artist who worked on me is Frank.  I came in for my Christmas present. Met with Frank explained what I wanted. An that following Monday. This was created. After reading some of the comments, I think it's pretty clear I must have spoken to "Frankie" on the phone.  Whoever it was, he was incredibly rude, and even after I repeated myself multiple times he still could not figure out the meaning of the word "portfolio".  I wanted to see what kind of artwork this shop had to offer and asked to see a website where I could view some kind of portfolio.  Well apparently that concept is much too highbrow for the people who answer the phone over there.  You guys might want to consider hiring people to answer your phones who have an IQ higher than brick.  Good luck. I agree with Bree G 100% i got my tattoo done by frankie as well and i have never dealt with such incompetence in my life. He is very rude and unprofessional. He's a weirdo, says inappropriate comments, doesnt listen to what you want and says stupid sarcastic comments whenever you tell him what you want. I absolutely love this place. I have gotten 2 tattoos from Jerry in the past that turned out great. Last night my friend and I went and got small tattoos done by Frankie! He was awesome and did such a great job. He was so friendly, professional and talented at what he does. I sent him pictures and he did exactly what we both wanted. He fixed a tattoo for me that was also blurry and it turned out great! I will only ever go here to get any future tattoos or touch ups. I strongly recommend. Read Less

This place sucks. Went here twice for two tats. The first time it was easy and quick and even though I got overcharged for a small finger tat I was satisfied. The second time I made the mistake of making an appt with Frankie. The owner took the money and made the appt, asked me what I wanted and I was ready to come back for the appt. Before my appt this idiot starts texting me asking me what I want etc even though I had already told the other guy who said he would tell him. And really annoying, unprofessional texts too. I get there and the guy is annoying af. I felt totally rushed, hit on and then he charged me like 30 over their hourly fee even tho it took all of 15 mins. Went in today to get a marlin piece done on my leg. Frankie gave me a great price and helped me find exactly what I wanted. I showed him multiple pictures and he told me what he would recommend and then went a drew up the perfect tattoo that I had been thinking of. He worked quick and made sure I was comfortable. Just came here last night for a walk in with my girl. We both just wanted something small and Jerry said to come back in 40 minutes. When we came back, Jerry took us both right away. He was done with both of us within one hour, minus prep time. He has to be one of the coolest dudes I have met in the tattoo industry. Just a real dude....he was kind, courteous, and super professional. Plus he didn't try to gouge us in any way like other shops we had spoke with. I had came here way back in the day for piercings and a couple tats but over the years I just stopped getting ink. But I think after the experience I had with Jerry, I will be back for sure. California Tattoo is the best! It's clean, the guys are great and are all professional. I've been going to Jerry since I was 18 years old and he fixed my first at home tattoo for me and honestly there is no one I trust more! If it takes 100 times changing a detail and repositioning your piece to get it just right than thats what he'll do, but he's got an eye for the way things flow, so it usually  doesn't take that many times! He's quick and doesn't have a heavy hand, that makes it so much more enjoyable :) All of the guys there are extremely talented and between the group they have all your tattoo styles covered! So no matter what your are looking for they've got you covered! They are always extremely thorough with aftercare instructions and make sure you understand how to care for your new piece before leaving so you don't end up with an infection.  I absolutely love this place and totally recommend California Tattoo to anyone!
